Shiner, Texas

Spoetzl Brewery (originally Shiner Brewing Association) is a brewery located in Shiner, Texas, United States. It produces a diverse line of Shiner beers, including their flagship Shiner Bock, a dark lager that is now distributed throughout the US. The brewery is owned by the Gambrinus Company, a family-owned company based in San Antonio, which also owns Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, California.

Shiner Catholic School is a private, Roman Catholic K-12 school in Shiner, Texas. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Victoria in Texas. It has two components: St. Lumila Elementary School and St. Paul High School.

Shiner High School is a public high school located in Shiner, Texas, United States and classified as a 2A school by the UIL. It is part of the Shiner Independent School District located in western Lavaca County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

St. Mary's Church of the Assumption is a historic church on FM 1295 in Praha, Texas. It was built in 1895 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Gottfried Flury, a Swiss-born artist from Moulton, TX, painted much of the interior. Using a combination of stenciling, infill painting, and freehand techniques, Flury's trompe-l'œil designs mimic stone vaults and Gothic tracery reminiscent of central European models. The ornate polychrome interior of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption is typical of the so-called "Painted Churches of Texas" constructed by immigrants who settled in the region in the nineteenth century.
