Callingwood South, originally known as Callingwood Town Centre, is a neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded by the Ormsby Place neighbourhood across 178 Street to the west, the Callingwood North neighbourhood across 69 Avenue to the north, the Oleskiw neighbourhood across 170 Street to the east, and the Gariepy neighbourhood across Callingwood Road to the south.The community is represented by the Callingwood-Lymburn Community League, established in 1979, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 187 Street and 72 Avenue.

St. Oscar Romero Catholic High School is a high school located in the Callingwood North neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is operated by Edmonton's Catholic School System. It is the Edmonton Catholic System's newest high school and is located next to the Jamie Platz YMCA, Callingwood Twin Arenas, and Edmonton Public Library's Lois Hole library. The school is the first fully Wi-Fi high school in Edmonton.The school opened in 2004 with the name Archbishop Oscar Romero High School, and has been renamed twice as the sainthood of Óscar Romero progressed. The school became Blessed Oscar Romero High School in 2015 when Romero was beatified, and gained its current name in 2018 after his canonization.

Beth Israel Synagogue (Hebrew: בית ישראל) is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located at 131 Wolf Willow Road NW in the Oleskiw neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1906 as the Edmonton Hebrew Association, it is the city's oldest synagogue. Beth Israel's (and Edmonton's) first rabbi was Hyman Goldstick, recruited from Toronto in 1906; he was later elected mayor of Edson, Alberta. The congregation's Hebrew school, founded in 1907, would share space with the congregation until 1925, and later became Canada's first Jewish day school.Over the years, the congregation has occupied three different buildings; in 1912 it moved into its first building on 95th Street. It moved into its second building, on 113th Street, in 1952, and moved into its current location in 2000.Long-serving rabbis include A. Pinsky (1912–1933) and Abraham Postone (1941–1955). and Rabbi Daniel Friedman 2002–2018, and Rabbi Zolly Claman (2018–present).

Edmonton-McClung is a provincial electoral district in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The district was created in 1993 and is named after Nellie McClung. The current MLA is Lorne Dach of the NDP, who was first elected in 2015.

World Waterpark is a water park located within the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Opened to the public in 1986, it is the second largest indoor water park in North America, after American Dream's DreamWorks Water Park which opened on October 1, 2020. It has a maximum capacity of 5,000 guests, an average air temperature of 31 °C (88 °F) and contains the world's largest indoor wave pool with a capacity of 12.5 million litres.The highest slides in the park are Twister, Sky Screamer and Cyclone, which are all 25.3 m (83 ft) high. In 2020, World Waterpark temporarily closed for the first time due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Canada. While some parts did temporarily close, the whole park didn't close down until mid March 2020.

West Edmonton Mall (WEM) is a shopping mall located in Edmonton, Alberta, that is owned, managed, and operated by Triple Five Group. It is the second most visited mall in Canada, after the Toronto Eaton Centre in Toronto, followed by Metrotown Mall in Burnaby, and the 23rd largest in the world (along with The Dubai Mall) by gross leasable area. It is currently the 2nd largest shopping mall, by square footage, in North America behind the Mall of America. Mall of America encompasses 5.6 million square feet and West Edmonton Mall encompasses 5.3 million square feet. By store count, West Edmonton Mall is the highest in the Western Hemisphere as it currently counts over 800 occupants, in comparison to Mall of America's 520 occupants. The mall was founded by the Ghermezian brothers, who emigrated from Iran in 1959. The mall's major anchor stores are Hudson's Bay, London Drugs, Marshalls, Simons, The Brick, and Winners/HomeSense. West Edmonton Mall covers a gross area of about 490,000 m2 (5,300,000 sq ft). It holds over 800 stores and services including nine attractions, two hotels and over 100 dining venues in the complex, and parking for more than 20,000 vehicles. More than 24,000 people are employed at the property. The mall receives about 32 million visitors per year; it attracts between 90,000 and 200,000 shoppers daily, depending on the day and season. The mall is referred to as “West Edmonton Mall” and not “the West Edmonton Mall”. Other local references are “West Ed” or “the Mall”.

Galaxy Orbiter is a steel spinning roller coaster at Galaxyland amusement park in West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was built by German manufacturer, Gerstlauer and is the first roller coaster of its type in Canada. The ride officially opened on July 17, 2007.

Galaxyland, previously known as Fantasyland, is an indoor amusement park. Located in the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the second largest mall in North America, it is home to the world's tallest (14 stories) and longest indoor roller coaster, the Mindbender. It is also home to the Space Shot, the world's tallest indoor tower ride at the time of opening, at 36.5 metres (120 ft). The record was broken by Nickelodeon Skyline Scream at American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey in 2019.

The Misericordia Community Hospital is an acute care hospital located in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Misericordia is home to the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM), a facility for reconstruction of the face, head and neck.The original Misericordia Hospital was established in 1900 by the Congregation of the Sisters of Misericorde, a religious congregation dedicated to nursing the poor and unwed mothers. The Sisters of Misericorde operated the hospital until the 1970s. The hospital is now part of Covenant Health, a Catholic health care provider operating 18 facilities across Alberta, in cooperation with Alberta Health Services.

The Mindbender is an Anton Schwarzkopf looping roller coaster located at Galaxyland Amusement Park, a theme park located in West Edmonton Mall, in Alberta, Canada. The ride officially opened to the public on December 20, 1985 at a cost of $6 million. At 44.2 m (145 ft) in height, it is the tallest indoor roller coaster in the world as of 2020.

The 1996 du Maurier Classic was contested from August 1–4 at Edmonton Country Club. It was the 24th edition of the du Maurier Classic, and the 18th edition as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This event was won by Laura Davies.
