The Haunted Castle was a haunted attraction at Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson Township, New Jersey. The original Haunted House was built prior to the fall "shoulder season" of 1978 to boost attendance and as a test for building a larger facility the following year. While it was intended that it be open only at night, the popularity of the attraction caused management to open it at the beginning of the day and keep it open until the park closed. At the end of the 1978 season, the attraction was disassembled and sent to Six Flags Over Mid-America, where it would continue to run from 1979 through 1982. The old façade was torn down and Botanical Gardens took its place. A medieval-styled façade was built for the Haunted Castle on the site of the Alpen Blitz across from the Muzik Express. On May 11, 1984, a fire destroyed the attraction, trapping and killing eight teenagers. Six Flags Great Adventure and its parent company Six Flags were indicted for aggravated manslaughter and accused of recklessly causing the deaths by taking inadequate precautions against a fire. In the trial, the prosecution argued that repeated warnings by safety consultants to install sprinklers or smoke/fire alarms had been ignored. The defendants denied any culpability. They contended that the fire was arson, and that no amount of precautions would have saved lives. The trial jury found the defendants not guilty of criminal charges; however, Six Flags paid millions in civil damages to victims' families.

The Flash: Vertical Velocity is an upcoming steel roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. It will be a Vekoma Super Boomerang launch coaster themed to the DC Comics character the Flash and built to commemorate the park's 50th anniversary in 2024.Also a shuttle roller coaster, The Flash will feature a zero-g roll and a top speed of 59 miles per hour (95 km/h). The ride will be located in the Movietown section of Six Flags Great Adventure, near Justice League: Battle for Metropolis.

The Jersey Devil Coaster is a single-rail roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. The roller coaster was built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). It is themed to the Jersey Devil, a mythical creature rumored to live in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. The roller coaster is 3,000 feet (910 m) long and contains a 130-foot (40 m)-tall lift hill and three inversions. The Jersey Devil Coaster uses four trains, each containing 12 seats, which achieve a maximum speed of 58 miles per hour (93 km/h). Announced in 2019, the ride was originally scheduled for completion in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, it was delayed by one year, opening to the public on June 13, 2021.

Jumbo Jet was a prefabricated steel roller coaster located within the Fun Fair section of Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Erected in 1975, the attraction was an example of the Jet Star 3 / Jumbo Jet model line designed by Werner Stengel and manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf.

Big Fury was a compact steel roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, that operated from 1974 to 1977. It was a Pinfari Zyklon model Z64. The coaster was similar in design but smaller than Flying Dutchman, a Pinfari Z78 model, that operated at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, 50 miles (80 km) northwest of Great Adventure.When Six Flags purchased the park in 1977, it was decided that a more exciting portable coaster would be an improvement. Big Fury was removed and sold to an unknown buyer and replaced by a Schwarzkopf Wildcat (54 m) called Wild Rider. Although Wild Rider had larger drops than a Zyklon and the two were painted different colors, this roller coaster is often confused with the Wildcat roller coaster that replaced it.

The Wild Rider refers to one of two defunct rides that were located at Six Flags Great Adventure in the 1970s. The first Wild Rider was a HUSS troika flat ride in the Fun Fair section of the park. This ride was only operational for a few seasons, and was removed in 1978.The second Wild Rider was a compact steel roller coaster, a new 54-meter Schwarzkopf Wildcat. The ride operated from 1978 through 1980, replacing the similar-looking Italian-built carnival coaster called Big Fury. Its track was similar to a wild mouse, with single cars running on it. At the end of the 1980 season, the Wild Rider was taken out of commission. The ride was then removed before the 1982 season and never replaced.This Wild Rider was located in the Enchanted Forest area of the park and would be seen behind Mama Flora's Cuchina if it were standing in its original location. If the two Wild Riders had existed at the same time, they would have been located across a walkway from one another.

Six Flags Great Adventure is an amusement park located approximately 20 miles southeast of Trenton in Jackson, New Jersey. Owned and operated by Six Flags, the park complex is situated between New York City and Philadelphia and includes a water park named Hurricane Harbor. It first opened to the public as simply Great Adventure in 1974 under the direction of restaurateur Warner LeRoy. Six Flags acquired the park in 1977. The park is located right off of Interstate 195 and is along Monmouth Road (County Route 537). In 2012, Six Flags combined its 160-acre (65 ha) Great Adventure with its 350-acre (140 ha) Wild Safari animal park to form Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari. At 510 acres (210 ha), it is the second-largest theme park in the world following Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Adventure Alley is a themed section at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. It opened on April 5, 2012, replacing the former Fantasy Forest section of the park.Some of the most popular attractions in Adventure Alley are the Giant Wheel, and SkyScreamer, an 242 feet (74 m) Swing ride that opened with the area in 2012.

Skull Mountain is an enclosed roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. Designed and manufactured by Intamin, the ride opened to the public on June 3, 1996.

Harley Quinn Crazy Train (previously Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train) is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. It was manufactured by Zierer and opened in 1999, classified as a junior roller coaster. It is a smaller, family-oriented coaster. It is considered a junior coaster rather than a kiddie coaster, as adults can ride without a child and the restraints are slightly larger than that of a children's roller coaster. Harley Quinn Crazy Train has a single 20-car train, by far the longest in the park. Each car has a single row of two seats for a total of 40 riders. It also has one of the longest stations in the park, with an individual entrance gate for every row except the first (the operator panel and computer shed are in the way). Because there is only one train, no block safety system is needed and the station also serves as the main brake run. In the early 2007 season, it was reprogrammed to complete two circuits of the track in each cycle. It makes two loops around a figure-8 track.

Lightnin' Loops was a pair of Shuttle Loop roller coasters that were originally installed at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. The ride consisted of two identical tracks, both of which were later relocated and renamed: the still-extant Diamond Back at Frontier City in Oklahoma City and the defunct Python at Six Flags America in Largo, Maryland (near Washington, D.C.). Manufactured by Arrow Development, the ride opened on May 23, 1978, with a unique feature at the time. Both tracks interlocked at their vertical loop element. The ride's popularity declined in the mid-to-late 1980s, and a fatal incident occurred in 1987. The ride had limited operation when it reopened later that year and was eventually dismantled in 1992.

Nitro is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the Hyper Coaster model opened to the public on April 7, 2001. Since its debut, Nitro has consistently ranked high among steel coasters in the annual Golden Ticket Awards from Amusement Today, peaking in third place during its tenure.
