Temple Israel Cemetery, also known as Pleasant Hill Cemetery, is located at 6412 North 42 Street (42nd and Redick Avenue) in the North Omaha neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska.

The Florence School is located at 7902 North 36th Street in the Florence neighborhood of north Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The first school in the Florence area was built in the 1840s, in what was then called Cutler's Park by Mormon pioneers. The present-day Florence Elementary School was started in the late 1850s after the town of Florence was founded.

The 24th and Lake Historic District is an neighborhood commercial area in North Omaha, Nebraska. Often referred to as a Black neighborhood, it is one of the oldest commercial areas outside of downtown Omaha and was established in the 1860s. Historically a racially mixed neighborhood, there have been large populations of Jews, Scandinavians, and other European immigrant groups in the area, as well as African Americans. Today, it remains an important center of the city's African-American culture. The area included businesses, professional offices, restaurants, residences, and social locations. Today, there are also museums and cultural facilities as well. Today, its boundaries are defined by the National Register of Historic Places, "the district encompasses 11 partial city blocks. The main thoroughfare, North 24th Street, extends north and south while Lake Street is perpendicular to North 24th Street in the east and west directions. The district includes North 24th Street from Patrick Avenue on the south to Ohio Street on the north and from 22nd Street on the east to just west of 26th Street.

North Omaha is a community area in Omaha, Nebraska, in the United States. It is bordered by Cuming and Dodge Streets on the south, Interstate 680 on the north, North 72nd Street on the west and the Missouri River and Carter Lake, Iowa on the east, as defined by the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce.Located just north of Downtown Omaha, the community includes some of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, including the Near North Side, Bemis Park, Saratoga and Florence. It is the site of the Mormon Pioneers' Winter Quarters and the Mormon Temple, a center of European immigration as well as the historically significant African-American community, and the birthplace of Malcolm X. Important landmarks in the community include the Bank of Florence, Prospect Hill Cemetery and the Fort Omaha Historical District. In 2006, North Omaha became the focus of national attention after local State Senator Ernie Chambers introduced an amendment to divide the Omaha school system into three, which some observers suggested would have created de facto segregated school systems based on residential patterns. The measure was eventually repealed.

The Minne Lusa Theater building is located at 6714 North 30th Street in North Omaha, Nebraska. It was a one-screen neighborhood movie house that opened in the mid-1930s that seated approximately 400 patrons. The theater closed sometime in the mid-1950s. Today the building houses Heartland Family Services.

Golden Hill Cemetery is located at 5025 North 42nd Street in the North Omaha neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska.

Forest Lawn Memorial Park, also known as Forest Lawn Cemetery, is located at 7909 Mormon Bridge Road in North Omaha, Nebraska. It was established in 1885 when the mutual Forest Lawn Cemetery Association was donated 100 acres (0.40 km2) in northwest of the city. In 1886, the first interment in the cemetery was the donor of the land, John H. Brackin. Forest Lawn is Omaha's largest cemetery and the burial location of many of Omaha's second generation of leadership.

Metropolitan Community College (Metro or MCC) is a public community college in Omaha, Nebraska. It has multiple campuses throughout the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.MCC serves residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, MCC is the largest post-secondary institution in Nebraska.MCC offers more than 100 one- and two-year career programs in business administration, computer and office technologies, culinary arts, industrial and construction technologies, nursing and allied health, social sciences and services, and visual and electronic technologies, as well as academic transfer programs. General support courses, classes for business and industry, and continuing education courses also are important parts of the college.

The Henry B. Neef House is located just north of the Minne Lusa neighborhood of North Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The Neef House was the first steel-frame house in the area, and was a pioneering construction style in Nebraska.It was built in 1929 by Henry Neef.The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on September 16, 2010. The listing was announced as the featured listing in the National Park Service's weekly list of September 24, 2010.

The Notre Dame Academy and Convent is located at 3501 State Street in the Florence neighborhood on the north end of Omaha, Nebraska. It is significant for its ethnic association with the Czech population in Nebraska as the only school and convent of the Czechoslovakian School Sisters de Notre Dame (this is not the same order as the School Sisters of Notre Dame) in the United States. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The groups were home to a high school for girls from 1925 through 1974.

The Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple is the 104th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It is located in Florence, now a neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska, USA, and formerly an independent city.

The Mormon Pioneer Cemetery is located at 3300 State Street in present-day Florence at the north end of Omaha, Nebraska. The Cemetery is the burial site of hundreds of Mormon pioneers who lived in Winter Quarters, a temporary settlement that lasted from 1846 to 1848 as the settlers moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. It was designated a landmark by the City of Omaha in 1990.Records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) indicate that 359 Mormon pioneers were buried at the site. Remnants of three of the graves are visible today, uncovered during the erection of a commemorative monument in 1936. The monument, a bronze statue by Salt Lake City artist Avard Fairbanks, depicts parents who have committed the body of an infant to the grave. The graves of a number of Florence residents are also located in the cemetery. The community of Florence began to use the cemetery several years after the departure of the Mormons and prior to the Mormons the area had been used as an Indian burial ground. With the exception of a commemorative marker in the nearby city park, the cemetery is the only visible reminder of the Mormon settlement.
