Zoar, Ohio

Wilkshire Hills is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census.The CDP is on the northern edge of Tuscarawas County, in the northeast corner of Lawrence Township. It is bordered to the northwest by the village of Bolivar, to the south by the village of Zoar, to the east by Sandy Township, and to the north by Pike Township and Bethlehem Township in Stark County. Wilkshire Golf Course is in the western part of the CDP. Ohio State Route 212 passes through the community, leading northwest into Bolivar and southeast 15 miles (24 km) to Sherrodsville. Interstate 77 passes just to the northwest of Wilkshire Hills, with access from Exit 93 (Bolivar). I-77 leads north 11 miles (18 km) to Canton and south the same distance to Dover. The Tuscarawas River forms the western border of Wilkshire Hills. The Tuscarawas, flowing south and west, is the main tributary of the Muskingum River, which flows south to the Ohio.

Fort Laurens was an American Revolutionary War fort on a northern tributary of the Muskingum River in what would become Northeast Ohio, United States. The fort's location is in the present-day town of Bolivar, Ohio, along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

Conotton Creek ( kon-OT-ən) is a tributary of the Tuscarawas River, 38.7 miles (62.3 km) long, in eastern Ohio in the United States. Via the Tuscarawas, Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 286 square miles (741 km2) in Carroll, Harrison and Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The source is at 1240 feet and the mouth is at 874 feet. Dover Dam, downstream on the Tuscarawas river, is normally dry, but can impound a reservoir on Conotton and tributaries to a pool elevation of 916 feet for downstream flood control by the Corps of Engineers. From its source in eastern Harrison County, Ohio the creek flows west northwest through Jewitt, Scio, Conotton, Bowerston, Leesville, Sherrodsville, New Cumberland and Somerdale before reaching its mouth in central Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway is situated in the valley. Ohio State Route 151 runs in the valley from near the source to Bowerston. Ohio State Route 212 run along the valley from Bowerston to the mouth. The Conotton Creek Trail runs from Bowerston to Jewett. The stream was declared navigable by the Ohio legislature in 1808, but the act was repealed in 1816, probably to allow the construction of mill dams.

Sandy Creek is a tributary of the Tuscarawas River, 41.3 miles (66.5 km) long, in northeastern Ohio. Via the Tuscarawas, Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 503 square miles (1,303 km²).

Bolivar (, rhymes with Oliver) is a village in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,000 at the 2020 census. Bolivar is also home to Fort Laurens, the only American Revolutionary War-era fort in what is now Ohio.

Huff Run is a 9.9 mile (15.9 km) long tributary of the Conotton Creek in eastern Ohio within Sandy Township (Tuscarawas County) and Rose Township (Carroll County). Conotton Creek is a tributary of the Ohio River via the Tuscarawas River and the Muskingum River. Mineral City is the only incorporated town within the Huff Run Watershed. The mouth of the stream is at 875 feet altitude. Dover Dam 40°33′26″N 81°24′44″W, downstream on the Tuscarawas River, is normally dry, but can inundate this waterway to a pool elevation of 916 feet for downstream flood control by the Corps of Engineers. This can cause flooding and closure of Route 800 south of Mineral City and other roads out of the village. The stream gauge south of Mineral City is at 886.98 feet, and is rendered inoperable when reservoir elevation exceeds that.

Sandy Valley High School is a public high school near Magnolia, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Sandy Valley Local Schools district. Its mascot is a cardinal and its colors are red and gray. A new high school building opened January 20, 2009.
