Keeper Hill

The Silvermine Mountains or Silvermines Mountains (Irish: Sliabh an Airgid) are a mountain range in County Tipperary, Ireland. The highest peak of the range is Keeper Hill or Slievekimalta at 694 metres (2,277 ft) high. Traditionally, the mountains were deemed to be part of the Slieve Felim Mountains.The village of Silvermines is located to the north of the mountains and has been a mining centre since the 14th century. There are three Special Areas of Conservation on the Silvermine Mountains; the Silvermine Mountains SAC is known for its Northern Atlantic wet heaths, with Erica tetralix and species-rich Nardus grassland; the Silvermines Mountains West SAC is known for its Northern Atlantic wet heaths, with Erica tetralix, and its European dry heaths and Calaminarian grasslands where the levels of heavy metals, such as lead, are high, and are toxic to many plant species; and Keeper Hill SAC, known for its Northern Atlantic wet heaths with Erica tetralix and blanket bogs.

Silvermines, historically known as Bellagowan (Irish: Béal Átha Gabhann), is a village in County Tipperary in Ireland. It lies immediately north of the Silvermine mountain range and takes its name from the extensive mines of lead, zinc, copper, baryte and silver nearby. Towards the very south of the Silvermine Mountains is the highest peak in the mountains, Keeper Hill or in Irish Sliabh Cimeálta, which rises to 695m, dominating the area. Silvermines is located near the town of Nenagh on the R499 regional road. It is a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe and is also in the historical barony of Ormond Upper.

Ballinahinch GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Killoscully and Ballinahinch in the north-west of County Tipperary, Ireland. The club plays both Gaelic football and hurling in the North division of Tipperary GAA.

Killoscully (Irish: Cill Ó Scolaí) is a small village, townland and civil parish in County Tipperary, Ireland. Located approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) northeast of Newport, overlooked by the Silvermine Mountains, the linear village has a Catholic church, graveyard, community centre and public house. The church, the Church of the Sacred Heart, was built in 1874 and is in the parish of Ballinahinch and Killoscully in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club, Ballinahinch GAA, is also in Ballinahinch and Killoscully parish. Some scenes for the fictional TV show, Killinaskully, were filmed in the area.

The Slieve Felim Mountains (Irish: Sliabh Eibhlinne) are a mountain range in Munster, Ireland. They cover parts of County Limerick and County Tipperary. Historically, the name "Slieve Felim" meant the whole mountainous area between Murroe, Silvermines, Borrisoleigh and Dundrum, including the Silvermine Mountains and Mauherslieve. However, today the name usually only applies to the southwestern part, made up of Slieve Felim (427 metres (1,401 ft)), Cullaun (460 metres (1,510 ft)), Knockastanna (444 metres (1,457 ft)) and Gortnageragh (418 metres (1,371 ft)).Sliabh Eibhlinne means "mountains of Ébliu", an ancient goddess. In the Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of the Taking of Ireland), the newly-arrived Milesians meet the goddess Fódla on these mountains, and she asks them to name the island after her. Fódla thus became a poetic name for Ireland. In the early modern era, the name Eibhlinne became confused with the more common male name Féilim, and so the mountains became known in English as Slieve Felim.

Dolla (Irish: An Doladh) is a village in County Tipperary in Ireland, on the crossroads of the R497 and R499 regional roads. It is located at the foot of the northern flank of the Silvermine Mountains, 8 km (5.0 mi) south on Nenagh. Services in Dolla include a public house, petrol station, shop-pub and a post office. The Silvermines GAA Club pitch and club house are also located in Dolla. The Garda Station is a protected structure under the County Development Plan. The structure was a former RIC barracks and was built c. 1890. The structure is the oldest building within the settlement boundary.

Burgess GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association Club located in the areas of Burgess-Burgessbeg, Youghalarra and Newtown, County Tipperary, Ireland. It fields Gaelic Football and Hurling teams in the North Division of Tipperary GAA.

The Civic Offices is a municipal facility on Limerick Road in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland. The building is of social and economic importance as the headquarters of Tipperary County Council. It is also of some architectural importance having received a design award from the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland in 2006.

MacDonagh Park is a GAA stadium in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is the home ground of the Nenagh Éire Óg club and has often been used for inter-county matches, including some of Tipperary's National Hurling League fixtures.

Nenagh Éire Óg GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the town of Nenagh.
