Smith Haven Mall is a shopping mall located in Lake Grove, New York (with the western half of the mall in St. James), and is the main mall for the "Middle Island" area of Long Island. It is also the easternmost enclosed mall on Long Island, and thus draws shoppers from the communities that make up the Hamptons, and the North Fork. The mall features Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Primark (coming soon). The complex covers an area of 1,204,769-square-foot (111,927 m2) of retail space, with the key building (opened in 1969) being one story and 800,000-square-foot (74,000 m2), which includes 119 shops and restaurants. The mall has been managed since 1995 by Simon Property Group; it is one of the largest developers of shopping malls in the United States and the owner of Long Island's largest mall, Roosevelt Field in Garden City. Its name is a portmanteau of the towns of Smithtown and Brookhaven, as the mall overlaps the boundaries of these towns, Also the mall overlaps the boundaries of the Smithtown Central School District and Middle Country Central School District.

Halliock Inn is a historic inn and tavern located at Village of the Branch in Suffolk County, New York. It is composed of two main sections: the 2+1⁄2-story portion and a 1+1⁄2-story wing to form an L-shaped building. It dates to the 18th century.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Today, the inn serves as medical offices.

Located within the district and listed separately on the register are the Halliock Inn and First Presbyterian Church.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 175 East Main Street in Smithtown, Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1825 and the sanctuary is a rectangular, two story frame structure measuring 56 feet (17 m) by 34 feet (10 m). It is sheathed in wood shingles and covered by a gable roof. It features an engaged, square tower surmounted by a tiered, balustraded belfry. The tower has a Palladian window at its second level.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Prominent buildings within the district are the Timothy Smith House (ca. 1800) and dependencies, "Deepwells" (1845–47) and dependencies, St. James Episcopal Church and dependencies, the St. James Railroad Station (built in 1873), and St. James General Store (built in 1857). The newest structure, the 1922-built Saint James Fire Department was also included in the district, but was modernized in recent decades.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

First Congregational Church of New Village is a historic church on the north side of Middle Country Road, west of Elliot Avenue in Lake Grove, New York, United States. The building was likely constructed in 1818, with some sources saying with the original intent of being of a union meeting house.The congregation was formed in 1815, with the original title "Third Congregational Church of Brookhaven", and its first pastor was Jacob Corwin. On March 5, 1845, the church was incorporated as the "First Congregational Church of New Village."In 1949 the church withdrew from the Congregational denomination, and it became an independent evangelical church; self-governed by its Board of Elders and Deacons. The congregation of the church moved to a new and larger facility in 1961, and the property was taken over by the Town of Brookhaven around 1970. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.Today the church is known as New Village Church, and is located a block from the old church building at 3 Wildwood Street, Lake Grove, NY. The church is depicted on the Lake Grove village seal. "New Village", however, is the former name of the hamlet of Centereach, whose boundary now lies a few blocks east of the church's location.
