Suffern High School is a public high school in the Suffern Central School District (formerly known as the Ramapo Central School District) located in Suffern, New York. The school's mascot is a mountain lion (Mountie). Its yearbook is the Panorama. In 2015, Newsweek magazine ranked Suffern High in the top 500 high schools in the United States at number 439.

Bat Torah - The Alisa M. Flatow Yeshiva High School was a private Jewish day school located in Suffern, New York. In May 2011, the school had planned to move to the Teaneck Jewish Center. On July 25, 2011, it was reported that the school would not be opening for the 2011–2012 academic year. Mrs. Miriam Bak, the principal, cited an unexpected drop in 11th grade enrollment and higher-than-expected moving costs as the reasons for closing.Bas Torah, as it was originally called, opened in 1978. Miriam Bak became head of the school in 1981 and renamed the school to Bat Torah Academy. In 2000, The school was renamed to Bat Torah - The Alisa M. Flatow Yeshiva High School after Alisa Flatow, a New Jersey student killed in the Egged bus 36 bombing in 1995.

John A. DeBaun Mill is a historic grist mill located at Tallman in Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1845 and is a two-story, four by two bay, heavy timber frame, clapboard sheathed main block on a rubble stone foundation. The main block is flanked by large shed roofed one story wings. The property includes the mill building, a portion of the mill stream, and the site of the mill pond. It regularly functioned as a mill until 1906.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Good Samaritan Hospital is a non-profit, 286-bed hospital in Suffern, New York. It provides emergency, medical, surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, and acute care services. The hospital is home to a cardiovascular program, cancer treatment services, wound and hyperbaric institute and maternal/child services that includes a children's diagnostic center. Good Samaritan Hospital also provides social, psychiatric and substance abuse services and its certified home care agency supports residents of the Hudson Valley and beyond. Good Samaritan Hospital is a member of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, which also includes St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, New York, and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, New York. Bon Secours Charity Health System has subsequently become part of the WMCHealth. The hospital currently has a staff of more than 600 doctors and 2000 employees. Its academic affiliate is the New York Medical College School of Medicine.

Suffern is a village that was incorporated in 1796 in the town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York. Sitting adjacent to the town of Mahwah, New Jersey, Suffern is located 31 miles northwest of Manhattan. As of the 2020 census, Suffern's population was 11,402.

Rockland Community College (RCC) is a public community college in the town of Ramapo, New York in Rockland County. It is part of the State University of New York. The college, established in 1959, became the 18th community college to join the SUNY system. The college offers 51 programs and offers associate degrees and certificates. Additionally, students can earn other degrees, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Arts in the arts and sciences, Doctoral Program in Executive Leadership (EdD), technology, and health professions while attending classes at Rockland through articulation programs with four-year schools. The current enrollment is 6,859 students. The main campus is in Suffern, New York, but classes are also offered at an extension sites in Haverstraw, Nyack and Orangeburg. The Spring Valley satellite campus, sold for $4.2 million, has been discontinued. It was located in the historic North Main Street School. Instructions were discontinued at the Haverstraw Extension Center in 2020. The college has more than 525 full and part-time faculty members, including several Fulbright Scholars, SUNY Chancellor's Award winners, and published authors and artists. The faculty-student ratio is 22:1. Rockland has the third highest transfer rate in the SUNY system and has a Continuing Education programs which served about 3,500 each year.

Mesivta Ohel Torah (lit. 'Tent of Torah'), also known as Yeshiva High School of Monsey is an Orthodox Jewish yeshiva in Monsey, New York, United States.

The Washington Avenue Soldier's Monument is located at the junction of that street and Lafayette Avenue (NY 59) in the village of Suffern, New York, United States. It sits on a small piece of land in the middle of the street known locally as the Triangle. At different times during the Revolutionary War, George Washington and Rochambeau encamped the Continental Army near the memorial site for brief periods. A cannon from that war had been placed on the Triangle in 1908 with the intent of starting a memorial to the village's dead from the Civil War, but only after World War I was the monument finished and dedicated. Plaques have been added since then to honor those locally who served and sometimes gave their lives in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

The Lafayette Theatre is a nationally acclaimed movie palace located in downtown Suffern, New York, built in 1923. Its primary function is first-run movies, but it also houses special events like its popular weekly Big Screen Classics film shows. It is also notable for housing a Wurlitzer theatre organ, which is played before Big Screen Classics shows.

Airmont is a village in the town of Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, United States, located north of the state of New Jersey, east of Suffern, south of Montebello, and west of Chestnut Ridge. The population was 10,166 at the 2020 census.The village of Airmont, incorporated in 1991, is a consolidation of the hamlets of Tallman, Airmont and South Monsey. Joseph Berger of The New York Times wrote in a 1997 article that Airmont was one of several Ramapo villages formed "to preserve the sparse Better Homes and Garden [sic] ambiance that attracted them to Rockland County." In 2005, Peter Applebome of The New York Times said that Airmont was "slapped around enough by the courts to be something other than a virginal player in any discrimination case" since it ran into legal resistance to its development laws.
