The Wheatley School is a public high school serving grades 8 through 12 located in Old Westbury, New York and part of the East Williston Union Free School District. The school district encompasses all of East Williston and parts of Mineola, Albertson, Old Westbury, and Roslyn Heights. As of the 2018-19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 711 students and 63.87 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.13:1. The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM) is a private medical school located primarily in Old Westbury, New York. It also has a degree-granting campus in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Founded in 1977, NYIT-COM is an academic division of the New York Institute of Technology. Formerly the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, it is one of the largest medical schools in the United States.

Old Westbury Gardens is the former estate of businessman John Shaffer Phipps (1874–1958), an heir to the Phipps family fortune, in Nassau County, New York. Located at 71 Old Westbury Road in Old Westbury, the property was converted into a museum home in 1959. It is open for tours from April through October.

Queen of Peace Cemetery is a cemetery of the Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre in Old Westbury, New York. The land was previously a farm that had been owned for two centuries by the Titus family, and then by the Hitchcock polo family. The land was purchased by the diocese in 1995 at auction from the federal government following seizure from a former owner; however, the Village of Old Westbury delayed construction for over two decades by litigation, which was settled in 2016. The cemetery was opened in 2020, earlier than expected and before the completion of construction, because the COVID-19 pandemic had caused nearby Cemetery of the Holy Rood to run out of space.

The A. Conger Goodyear House is an NRHP listed historic home located at Old Westbury in Nassau County, New York.

The Police Officer Michael J. Califano Memorial Bridge is a highway overpass in East Hills and Old Westbury in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It carries Glen Cove Road (Nassau County Route 1) over the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495). It is named in honor of Michael J. Califano, a police officer who was killed nearby in the line of duty.
