Glen Head, New York

North Shore Central School District is a public school district in Nassau County, New York. It serves several villages and hamlets in the North Shore region of Long Island, specifically Glenwood Landing, Glen Head, Sea Cliff, Old Brookville, and parts of Greenvale and Roslyn Harbor. About 2,567 students attend North Shore schools. It has a single high school, North Shore High School. Notable alumni include Michael McKean, Saturday Night Live actress Kate McKinnon, and best-selling novelist Darin Strauss.

Glen Head is a station along the Oyster Bay Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is officially located at Glen Head Road (Glenwood Road) and School Street in Glen Head, New York. However, parking is available between Glen Head Road and Locust Avenue on the east side of the tracks and between Glen Head Road and Walnut Avenue on the west side of the tracks.

North Shore High School is located in Glen Head, New York. It opened in September 1957 and graduated its first class in June 1958. The first principal was Dr. John French. The school is a part of the North Shore School District. As of 2021, approximately 878 students attend North Shore High School. The current principal is Eric Contreras. In 2021, Newsweek ranked North Shore as the 336th best public school in the country. North Shore's athletic teams are known as the Vikings, and have a long-time rivalry with neighboring Glen Cove High School. As of the 2022-2023 school year, the school had an enrollment of 777 students and 100 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.8:1. There were 99 students (13% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and (1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.)In 2021, North Shore High School was recognized as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School in the Exemplary High Performing category. For many years North Shore has had an "open campus" policy, where students were allowed to leave campus during lunch and other free periods so they could work on independent projects. Some community members wanted North Shore to become a "closed campus," where leaving campus was not permitted during free periods. They were concerned due to automobile and pedestrian safety and possibilities of students conducting recreational drug usage off campus.

Sea Cliff is a station along the Oyster Bay Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Sea Cliff Avenue and Glen Keith Road between Glen Cove Avenue and Cedar Swamp Road in the City of Glen Cove, New York, east of the Town of Oyster Bay hamlet of Sea Cliff, New York. The station was actually named after Sea Cliff Avenue, rather than the hamlet.

Westbrook Preparatory School is New York State's first co-ed private residential school for 24 middle and high school students with high-functioning autism. It was established after intense lobbying by parents, with the aim of bringing special education students back from out-of-state private schools, through creating publicly financed alternatives closer to home. The school was originally scheduled to open in late fall 2010 and eventually opened in February 2011.

Glen Street is a station along the Oyster Bay Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Glen Street (former NY 107), near Elm Avenue, in the City of Glen Cove, New York.

The Louis C. Clark Sanctuary is located on Valentine's Road in Old Brookville in Nassau County, New York on Long Island. The eight-acre (3.2 ha) sanctuary was once a part of Valentine Farm. It was donated by Frances S. Weeks to The Nature Conservancy in 1965 in memory of her son, Louis C. Clark. In 2012, the property was transferred to the North Shore Land Alliance.The sanctuary protects a freshwater marsh and swamp that is part of the Cedar Swamp Creek watershed. The swamp is characterized by cattail, buttonbush, red maple and tupelo; in addition, over 150 species of wildflowers and 25 species of shrubs and vines are found within the preserve. A total of 0.75 miles (1.21 km) of trails are maintained on the property, which is open to the public. The James Preserve is located across Valentine's Road from the property.

Glenwood Landing is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, New York. The population was 3,779 at the time of the 2010 census. Glenwood Landing is mainly within the Town of Oyster Bay but a small section in the southwest corner is in the Town of North Hempstead. It is a part of the North Shore School District. It is considered part of the greater Glen Cove area, which is anchored by the City of Glen Cove.

Old Brookville is a village located within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The village population was 2,020 at the time of the 2020 census.

The Justice Court Building is a historic court and municipal building located in Glen Cove in Nassau County, New York. Built for the city between 1907 and 1909, it was designed by the architect Stephen F. Voorhees (1878–1965) of Eidlitz & McKenzie. The 3-story, rectangular red brick building has a steeply pitched roof covered with green clay tile. A 1+1⁄2-story rear addition was built in 1923, used for some time as a jail. It is decorated with ceramic-glazed moldings and molded terra cotta decoration and exhibits features of the Dutch Colonial Revival or Collegiate Gothic style. It features a square bell tower. The former rectory contains the museum and is a 2-story rectangular building in the Tudor Revival style.The building on Glen Street was used for the court, city hall and later as police headquarters. In the early decades, the Women's Exchange was located just to the west of the building; the group raised money to provide social services.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It has been acquired by the North Shore Historical Museum, which plans to renovate the building for use as a museum.

House at 207 Carpenter Avenue is a historic home located at Sea Cliff in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1885 and is a 2+1⁄2-story clapboard-sided house with a multi-gabled slate roof in the Queen Anne style. It features an attached tower with tent roof and a porte cochere with bell shaped roof. The porte cochere has a second floor sleeping porch with decorative balustrade.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
