The East Hanover School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from East Hanover, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020-21 school year, the district, comprising three schools, had an enrollment of 908 students and 94.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.6:1.In 2020, the district was classified as a high performing school according to the State Department of Education's NJQSAC monitoring process.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students in ninth through twelfth grades for public school are served by the Hanover Park Regional High School District, attending Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, together with students from Florham Park. The district also serves students from the neighboring community of Hanover Township at Whippany Park High School in the Whippany section of Hanover Township. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 642 students and 58.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.0:1.

Gate of Heaven Cemetery is a cemetery located in East Hanover Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The cemetery is operated under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. It opened in 1937 and had 81,000 burials through 2002. 100 of the cemetery's original 128 acres (0.52 km2) have been developed. Construction started in 1989 on Chapel Mausoleum, which was planned to include 10,000 crypts.

The Whippany Burying Yard, in the Whippany section of Hanover Township, Morris County, New Jersey, United States, is a cemetery that was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 11, 2009.The two plus acre burying yard, which has approximately 450 graves and which dates back to 1718, is the oldest cemetery in northwest New Jersey. Graves include those of veterans of the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, the Civil War, and World War I.

The First Church of Hanover, also known as the First Presbyterian Church of Hanover or the Hanover Presbyterian Church, is located on Mount Pleasant Avenue in East Hanover, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Established in 1718 in what was then the British Province of New Jersey, it is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is the oldest religious congregation in Morris County. The congregation's current building, constructed in 1835, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hanover Park High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from East Hanover Township and Florham Park, in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as one of the two secondary schools of the Hanover Park Regional High School District. Hanover Park's sister school is Whippany Park High School, which serves students from Hanover Township, where the school is located. The school opened in 1956.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 751 students and 73.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.3:1. There were 12 students (1.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 5 (0.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Gibbs College – Livingston was a private two-year college in Livingston, New Jersey. It was part of the Gibbs College group of private schools founded by Katherine Gibbs. At one time the Livingston campus had an annual enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. The school was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award associate degrees and Certificates and by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education.This branch of Gibbs College was originally located in Montclair, New Jersey, where it opened in 1950. By 2000 the Montclair location was deemed too small. For its new campus, the college redeveloped a former Allison Corporation manufacturing plant on New Jersey Route 10. The project required five years of planning and nineteen months to obtain required permits, sparking a public discussion about undesirable regulatory obstacles to adaptive reuse of existing buildings. The resulting project had a 130,000-square-foot (12,000 m2) building on a 16-acre (65,000 m2) campus with lecture rooms, computer labs, a large library, cafeteria, student reception center, and offices. Within a few years, however, the campus was closed as part of a larger contraction of Gibbs College campuses.

Troy Meadows is a 3,100-acre (1,300 ha) nature preserve in Parsippany, Morris County, New Jersey. Along with the Great Swamp, it is one of the remnants of Glacial Lake Passaic. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967. It is the largest freshwater marsh in New Jersey, the Whippany River goes through the swamp before connecting with the Rockaway River. It is part of the Northeastern coastal forests ecoregion.

Sharkey Landfill is a 90-acre property located in New Jersey along the Rockaway and Whippany rivers in Parsippany, New Jersey. Landfill operations began in 1945, and continued until September 1972, when large amounts of toluene, benzene, chloroform, dichloroethylene, and methylene chloride were found, all of which have are a hazard to human health causing cancer and organ failure. Sharkey Landfill was put on the National Priority List (or NPL) in 1983, and clean up operations ran until the site was deemed as not a threat in 2004.

Beaufort was a railway station on the Morristown and Erie Railway in Roseland, New Jersey in the United States. The same name is also rarely used for the neighborhood of southwestern Roseland near the former railway station. The station building currently houses the Orange-Alden Fuel Company. That address is 10 Eisenhower Parkway in Roseland and is near the Livingston border. The Beaufort station was located not far from what is today Beaufort Avenue in Livingston. Before the Eisenhower Parkway was built Beaufort Avenue continued from Livingston to Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland. The station was started in 1904 when residents of the neighborhood constructed a wooden shed to serve as a station along the M&E, whose passengers were familiar with multiple flag stop stations along the line but wanted regularly scheduled service to their neighborhood. Eventually the Morristown and Erie Railway company constructed the station building that stands today. Passenger service along the line stopped in 1928.

Riker Hill Fossil Site (also referred to as Walter Kidde Dinosaur Park) is a 16-acre (6.5 ha) paleontological site in Roseland in Essex County, New Jersey, United States, located at the south western side of the borough at the border between Roseland and Livingston. It is one of the major sites in United States where a large number of dinosaur tracks are preserved. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in June 1971.
