The Margate City Schools are a community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Margate City, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. Students from Longport Borough, a non-operating school district, jointly attend the district's schools.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising two schools, had an enrollment of 351 students and 48.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.2:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For ninth through twelfth grades, public school students from Margate attend Atlantic City High School in Atlantic City, which also serves students from Brigantine and Ventnor City who attend the school as part of sending/receiving relationships. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,796 students and 153.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.7:1.

Lucy the Elephant is a six-story elephant-shaped example of novelty architecture, constructed of wood and clad in tin in 1882 by James V. Lafferty in Margate City, New Jersey, approximately five miles (8 km) south of Atlantic City. Originally named Elephant Bazaar, Lucy was built to promote real estate sales and attract tourists. Today, Lucy is the oldest surviving roadside tourist attraction in America.

Marven Gardens is a neighborhood in Margate City, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States, located two miles (3 km) south of Atlantic City. The name Marven Gardens is a portmanteau derived from Margate City and Ventnor City, because it lies on the border of Margate City and Ventnor City. Marven Gardens is surrounded by Ventnor Avenue, Winchester Avenue, Fredericksburg Avenue and Brunswick Avenue. The streets within it are Circle Drive, East Drive and West Drive, and signs at the end of each of these streets pay homage to its Monopoly heritage, with 'Marven Gardens' on a yellow background, and replicas of the house playing pieces adorn the posts on each sign. Most of the homes were built in the 1920s and 1930s. The permanent population of the neighborhood as of 2020 was 64, with over 47% of the neighborhood's homes being seasonally occupied.

Great Egg Coast Guard Station, is located in Longport, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. The station was built in 1939 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 31, 2005.

The Dorset Avenue Bridge is a vehicular bridge in Ventnor City, Atlantic County, New Jersey, south of in Atlantic City. The double-leaf Strauss trunnion bascule drawbridge spans the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) Inside Thorofare (MP 72.1) and carries CR 629 (MP 3.2) in Ventnor Heights and St Leonard's Tract on Absecon Island.

Absecon Island is a barrier island located on the South Jersey Shore of the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. On the island from north to south are the resort communities of Atlantic City, Ventnor City, Margate City, and Longport, with a total population among the four communities of 53,917 as of the 2020 United States census. The island ends at Absecon Inlet to the north and Great Egg Harbor Inlet to the south.

Seaview Harbor is a harbor and an unincorporated community located within Egg Harbor Township in Atlantic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

Church of the Redeemer, built in 1908, was a historic church located at 20th and Atlantic Avenues in the borough of Longport in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 10, 1992, for its significance in art. health/medicine and religion. It suffered a catastrophic fire in June 2012, and was demolished. A re-creation of the church is under construction and scheduled to open in June 2014.

WAJM, assigned to 88.9 FM and licensed to Atlantic City, New Jersey, is a high school radio station owned by the Atlantic City Board of Education and is operated by the students of Atlantic City High School. Currently, WAJM broadcasts live Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and during after hours, on weekends, holidays and when Atlantic City High School is closed due to inclement weather the station operates on an automated system where music, station IDs and PSA are shuffled and broadcast on-air. Starting at its inception WAJM had been broadcasting with a jazz radio format until 2009 when it flipped to a freeform radio format using the moniker 88.9 The Jam. The studios, offices and transmitter are located on the campus of Atlantic City High School on North Albany Avenue in Atlantic City. In 2009 WAJM began simulcasting its live and automated broadcasts via the Internet in both an audio only feed and audio/video feed. The station was a creation of Mr.Norman Draper. The first school year of on air broadcasting was 1996–97. That year the students interviewed "Sugar" Ray Leonard, and did a live simulcast from the grand opening of the new Atlantic City Convention Center. In 2005 the Atlantic City Board of Education entered into an agreement with In His Name Broadcasting which at the time owned 88.7 FM WXXY (Now WEHA) licensed to neighboring Port Republic to simulcast each other programming, WAJM would simulcast WXXY's religious programming when their live programming ended for the day and WXXY would broadcast Atlantic City Board of Education meetings and Atlantic City Public School sporting events, specifically the Atlantic City High School Vikings.
