Islands Brygge

Islands Brygge station (lit. Icelandic Quays) is a rapid transit station of the Copenhagen Metro in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first station on the M1 Line after its split from the M2 Line at Christianshavn, it is located in zone 1 in the northwestern section of the island of Amager.

Langebrogade 8–8A, formerly part of the adjacent Rabeshave Brewery site in Enhjørningens Bastion (now Langebrogade 6–8), is an early 19th century double house situated on Langebrogade, opposite Applebys Plads. in the Christianshavn neighborhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1988. The former Rabeshave Brewery owes its name to Peter Rabe Holm,a wine merchant who established a small beer brewery on the site in the late 18th century. In the 1850s, it was replaced by a modern, industrial brewery by brewer Christian Ditlev Friedel (1817-1882) and Frederik Marcus Knuth. In 1891, Rabeshave Brewery merged with 11 other breweries as De Forenede Bryggerier. In 1907–19, J. Wiedemann constructed a sausage factory on the site. These buildings have now been converted into a multi-tenant office complex (Langebrogade 6). A restaurant named Rabes Have ("Rabe's Garden") is still located in the basement of the listed building at No. 8A. The industrial building complex at No. 6 is not part of the heritage listing but registered with "high preservation value" (høj bevaringsværdighed).

Applebyes Plads is a triangular area located between Langebro Bridge and the southernmost portion of Christianshavn Canal at the southern tip of the Christianshavn neighbourhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. The area takes its name from Peter Applebye, Christian VI's rope maker, who ran his manufactury from the site in the late 18th century, although no buildings remain from that time. The Danish Sugar Factories' building along the waterfront dates from 1912 while the rest of the grounds have undergone residential redevelopment in later years. The street Langebrogade, separating the area from Christianshavn Rampart to the south, provides a connection between Islands Brygge on Amager and eastern Christianshavn. The Olafur Eliasson-designed Circle Bridge provides a link between Applebys Plads and western Christianshavn across the mouth of Christianshavn Canal.

Amagerbro is an area in the northern part of the island Amager and a district in Copenhagen. The area is known as a working class area, and has approximately 20,000 inhabitants. The district has two metro stations, Amagerbro station and Lergravsparken station. Amagerbrogade, a main shopping street, runs through it. The district is bordered by the Amager Fælled nature reserve, the Christianhavn Ramparts and Kløvermarken, the industrial area near Amager Boulevard and Øresundsvej. The main shopping and business area is Amagerbrogade and its sidestreets. Establishments in Amagerbro include Kofoeds School offering assistance to people with social problems, the Sundholm Activity Centre accommodating the homeless for short periods, and The Royal School of Library and Information Science with some 800 students.

The Port of Copenhagen (Danish: Københavns Havn) is the largest Danish seaport and one of the largest ports in the Baltic Sea basin. It extends from Svanemølle Beach in the north to Hvidovre in the south. Along with Malmö harbour, Copenhagen Port is operated by Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) and By & Havn. The port is divided into several different areas, many of which are individual harbours: There has been rapid development along the seafront; large parts of the formerly industrial inner harbor have recently been transformed into residential, recreative, and commercial areas. The port has seen a dramatic resurgence in activity since the 1990s, following a long period of decline following the 1940s.

A Leda and the Swan statue, depicting the classical myth of Leda and the Swan, was from 1611 to 1795 a major landmark in Copenhagen, Denmark. The statue topped a tall column located just off the entrance to the naval Arsenal Harbour.

Lille Langebro (English: Little long bridge), is located close to and named after the Langebro bridge, is a walking and cycling bridge in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was designed by WilkinsonEyre and it is classified as a double-swing bridge. The unique visual elements include the twisted and curved design.

Langebro (literally "Long Bridge") is a bascule bridge across the Inner Harbour of Copenhagen, Denmark, connecting Zealandside H. C. Andersens Boulevard to Amagerside Amager Boulevard. It is one of only two bridges to carry motor vehicles across the harbour in central Copenhagen, the other being Knippelsbro.

Stanley House (Danish: Stanleys Gård) is a Rococo mansion overlooking Christianshavn Canal in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Denmark. The house takes its name after its founder, Simon Carl Stanley, and was possibly built to his own design.

Amager Boulevard is a street on Amager in Copenhagen, Denmark. It begins at Langebro Bridge and initially follows Stadsgraven east to a Y-junction from where it continues inland to Amagerbrogade while the street Ved Stadsgraven continues along the water to the Christmas Møllers Plads.

Overgaden Oven Vamdet 8 is an 18th-century building overlooking Christianshavn Canal in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It originates in a two-storey, Neoclassical building constructed in 1786 by Andreas Kirkerup for candle maker Christian From. This building was heightened with one storey in 1831. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945. Notable former residents include organist and composer Niels Peter Hillebrandt.

Søren Kierkegaards Plads is a harbourside public square on Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen, Denmark, named after Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. It occupies a strip of waterfront between the Black Diamond, whose main entrance faces the square, and the Frederiksholm Canal. Away from the water, the square is faced by Christian IV's Brewhouse as well as his old arsenal, now housing the Royal Military Museum. The thoroughfare Christians Brygge runs through the square which is connected to the water by "ghats" which also serve as seating for spectators for the occasional performances on a floating stage in the harbour basin.
