Fenelon Falls

The Fénelon River is a 2 km (1.2 mi) long river that runs through the community of Fenelon Falls, City of Kawartha Lakes in the Kawartha Lakes district of Ontario, Canada. It connects Cameron Lake to Sturgeon Lake.

Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS) is a public high school located at 66 Lindsay Street in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Canada. FFSS was founded in 1827. As of 2008, it has about 1,000 students and 90 teachers and support staff. It is a member of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. It was previously in the Victoria County Board of Education.

Fenelon Falls/Sturgeon Lake Water Aerodrome (TC LID: CFG8) is an aerodrome located on Sturgeon Lake, Ontario, Canada.

Cameron Lake, Ontario is one of the Kawartha Lakes and is a lake bordering the town of Fenelon Falls and is part of the Trent–Severn Waterway. The lake is some 6.7 kilometres (4.2 mi) long by 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) wide and is quite deep, reaching 15 metres (49 ft) in places. The lake lies between locks 34 & 35 on the Trent–Severn Waterway. Much of the side of the lake is taken up with housing and is a popular place to live. The town of Fenelon Falls is found between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake. The lake is popular with boaters and fisherman. Fish found in the lake include: smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye (pickerel) and muskie (occasionally tiger muskellunge).In the lake are found the Lakers Islands (a.k.a. Boyd and Rathbun islands). The Burnt River and Rosedale River are tributaries of the lake. Cameron lake is not eutrophic because it has a high flushing rate which counteracts its high phosphorus loading.

The Rosedale River is a river in the City of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin and is part of the Trent–Severn Waterway. The river is named after Rosa Dale, the wife of settler John Cameron, who first settled the area of nearby Fenelon Falls.The river begins at the east side of Balsam Lake at the community of Rosedale. It flows east under Kawartha Lakes Road 35, then splits into two channels both heading to its mouth at the west side of Cameron Lake: a natural, winding, northern channel, and a southern cut canal, with lock 35 "Rosedale" of the Trent–Severn Waterway.

The Burnt River is a river which flows from its source at Miskwabi Lake in Highlands East, Haliburton County south into the Kawartha Lakes region. It empties into Cameron Lake in the city of Kawartha Lakes, part of the Trent–Severn Waterway. The town of Burnt River is located near its southern end. The river was used to transport lumber to sawmills downstream. Later, the Victoria Railway was built along the river. The old railway bed is now a recreational trail. The river was given its name after a forest fire in the region left the river's water with an unusual colour.

The Township of Fenelon was a municipality in present-day Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada. The township was named after François de Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon (missionary) (1641–79) who was a missionary in New France, establishing a mission on the Bay of Quinte.The community of Cambray within the township was named after Cambrai in France, where François Fénelon (1651–1715), younger brother of the missionary, was archbishop.

Rosedale is a Dispersed Rural Community and unincorporated place located in the city of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada, 29 kilometres (18 mi) north-west of Lindsay. It is partly in geographic Fenelon Township and partly in Somerville Township, and is on the Rosedale River, part of the Trent–Severn Waterway, where that river drains Balsam Lake on its way to Cameron Lake.Trent–Severn Waterway Lock 35 "Rosedale", completed in 1873 thus allowing boats to traverse between Cameron and Balsam Lakes, is on the Rosedale River just east of the community, and Ontario Highway 35 crosses over the river at Rosedale. Rosedale was for a time named Rosa Dale, after the wife of settler John Cameron, who first settled the area now known as Fenelon FallsThe population of Rosedale is roughly 500.

Sturgeon Lake is a lake in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The lake is Y-shaped and has the communities of Fenelon Falls, Lindsay, Sturgeon Point and Bobcaygeon at the north-west, south, central and north-east points of the Y respectively. The lake is approximately 25 km (16 mi) from the southern to the north-eastern extremes, the longer axis.

Verulam Park is a residential community in the city of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario located at the end of Concession IV on the north shore of Sturgeon Lake. It was given for the enjoyment of the people of the Verulam Township by Colonel McAlpine, who lived in a large mansion nearby. The site also has a boat launch and wharf provided by the Canada Department of Fisheries.

Cameron is an unincorporated village in the City of Kawartha Lakes, in east-central Ontario, Canada. The village has a population of approximately 221 residents. Cameron is located at the junction of Highway 35, and Kawartha Lakes Road 34, 11 km north-west of Lindsay.

Balsam Lake is a lake in the City of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin, is one of the lakes of the Kawartha Lakes, and is at the summit of the Trent–Severn Waterway.
