Maple Ridge, Edmonton

Edmonton Mill Creek was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1997 to 2019.

Maple is a neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that was established in 2010 through the adoption of the Maple Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP).Maple is located within The Meadows area and was originally identified as Neighbourhood 7 within The Meadows Area Structure Plan (ASP).It is bounded on the west by a Canadian National rail line, north by Whitemud Drive, east by Anthony Henday Drive, and south by The Meadows Neighbourhood 5.

Larkspur is a southeast residential neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is part of The Meadows area, located just to the east of the Mill Woods area. It is bounded on the west by 34 Street, on the east by 17 Street, on the north by Whitemud Drive and on the south by 38 Avenue. Because of curves in the routes followed by Whitemud Drive and 38 Avenue, the neighbourhood's east end is much narrower than its west end. The neighbourhood includes the Meadowbrook retail area at the southwest corner and a new and larger retail area that is still under development at its east end. Surrounding residential neighbourhoods are Kiniski Gardens to the west and south west, Wild Rose to the south, and Tamarack to the east and south east. To the north is the South East Industrial subdivision, the north west is the Pylypow Industrial subdivision, and to the north east is the Maple Ridge Industrial subdivision. Larkspur is a newer neighbourhood with most residential construction occurring between 1985 and 2005. Almost all (98%) of the housing in the neighbourhood is owner occupied, with the most common housing type being single family homes (88%). The remaining 12% are duplexes. The average number of residents per household is 3.4, with almost half (46%) or households having four or five people. In 2006, the City of Edmonton named Larkspur as one of the 20 sites that will be part of their long term multi-pronged housing strategy to create a wider range of housing options to address the city's growing needs, called the First Place Home Ownership Program.Thelma Chalifoux School (7-9), and Velma E. Baker School (K-6), which is located adjacent to Larkspur park, are the only schools in the neighbourhood.

Father Michael Troy Catholic Junior High School is a school located in Wild Rose in the southeastern part of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. During construction of the school in 2002, there was a severe thunderstorm on July 1. During the storm, lightning struck the school, causing the ventilation system to catch fire. The damage was minimal due to heavy rain, the school still was able to open on schedule. Their mascot is a Trytons.

Wild Rose is a residential neighbourhood located in The Meadows area of southeast Edmonton, Alberta. The neighbourhood is located just south of the RioCan Meadows . It is a relatively newer neighbourhood with 86% of the residences being built after 1990 according to the 2001 federal census. The neighbourhood has one school, Father Michael Troy Catholic Junior High School, operated by the Edmonton Catholic School District. The neighbourhood is bounded on the east by 17 Street, on the west by 34 Street and on the north by 38 Avenue. The southern boundary with Silver Berry follows an irregular east–west line that follows the Mill Creek Ravine.

The Meadows is a residential district in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located in southeast Edmonton, the Meadows is bounded by Whitemud Drive (Highway 14) to the north, 34 Street to the west, and Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216) to the east and south. The residential district of Mill Woods is immediately west of the Meadows across 34 Street, while Strathcona County is located to the east across Anthony Henday Drive. The community is represented by the Meadows Community League, established in 1987.

Tamarack is a residential neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was established in 2006 through the adoption of the Tamarack Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP). It is one of the neighbourhoods located within The Meadows area. Tamarack is bound by Whitemud Drive to the north, 17 Street NW to the west, the future realignment of 23 Avenue NW to the south, and a Canadian National (CN) rail line to the east. The Fulton Marsh Natural Area Reserve is located to the northeast in Maple, across the CN line. RioCan Meadows, a shopping centre, is located to the northwest in Larkspur, across 17 Street NW.

Silver Berry is a residential neighbourhood in south east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is one of the neighbourhoods located within The Meadows area. Residences in Silver Berry are a mixture of single-family dwellings (80%), duplexes (15%) and row houses (5%). The majority of residences (96%) in the neighbourhood are owner occupied.The neighbourhood is bounded on the east by 17 Street, on the west by 34 Street, on the north by Mill Creek Ravine and the south by 23 Avenue. 34 Avenue stops at 34 Street, turning into Silver Berry Road, going through Silver Berry and stopping at 23 Avenue.

Aster is a developing neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was named for the flowering plant genus Aster, of which heath aster and flat-topped white aster are most common in Alberta.Aster is located within The Meadows area and was originally identified as Neighbourhood 5 within The Meadows Area Structure Plan (ASP). It was officially named Aster on April 30, 2014.It is bounded on the west by 17 Street NW, north by a future realignment of 23 Avenue NW, and east and south by Anthony Henday Drive.

Refinery Row is the unofficial name given to the concentration of oil refineries in west Sherwood Park, Strathcona County, Alberta, just east of the city of Edmonton. The area is roughly bounded on the south by the Sherwood Park Freeway (Highway 100), on the north by the North Saskatchewan River and Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16), on the east by Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216), and on the west by 50 Street. Other major roads that run through the area include: 34 Street, 17 Street NW, and 101 Avenue/Baseline Road. The district is dominated by two refineries: the Strathcona Refinery (Imperial Oil), can process 187,000 barrels (29,700 m3) of crude oil per day; and the Suncor Edmonton Refinery (Suncor Energy), which can process 135,000 barrels per day (21,500 m3/d)The other main refineries in the Edmonton area are also located in Strathcona County, in a separate concentration around Scotford, Alberta. Refinery Row suffered F4 damage from the Edmonton Tornado on July 31, 1987.

The Mineral Core Research Facility (MCRF) is run by the Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) and assists the Alberta government's Department of Energy in administering the Metallic and Industrial Minerals Regulations of the Mines and Minerals Act for the Province of Alberta. Under these regulations, the Crown collects mineral core and rock samples from companies working on mineral permits and makes these materials publicly available for use by prospectors, mineral exploration companies and academia for mineral exploration and research purposes. The MCRF is a large warehouse complex for core storage with two viewing/display areas and a visitors office. The facility is 1235 square metres plus 310 square metres on the mezzanine, located in the Capital Industrial Park of Edmonton, Alberta. The MCRF contains more than 58,572 metres of mineral core and 17,000 rock samples, primarily from the exposed Canadian Shield in northeast Alberta.

Health First Strathcona was primary care centre that opened in Sherwood Park, Alberta in February 2004. The facility was opened to complement the regular care provided by family physicians, by providing after hours care for illness and urgent injuries. The centre closed on May 20, 2014, with its services being transferred to the Strathcona Community Hospital, which opened a day later.
