Frelsburg, Texas

Pisek (or Lone Oak, Sandy Point, or Nickols) is a ghost town in northern Colorado County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The former settlement, now a ghost town, was abandoned after 1941 when the inhabitants moved to Lone Oak on Farm to Market Road 1291. The site of Pisek is on a railroad between Fayetteville in Fayette County and New Ulm in Austin County.

New Ulm is an unincorporated community in Austin County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 650 in 2000.

Post Oak Point is an unincorporated community in Austin County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 40 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area.

Rockhouse, also Rock House, is an unincorporated community in Austin County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 30 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area.

Industry is a town in Austin County, Texas, United States, at the junction of State Highway 159 (SH 159) and Farm to Market Road 109 (FM 109). The population was 268 at the 2020 census. Industry was the first permanent German settlement in Texas. Friedrich Ernst, Industry's founder, settled here in 1831 and gained Industry the title "Cradle of German Settlement in Texas" (see German Texan). The community was so named on account of the industrious character of the first settlers.

Cummins Creek in Lee County, Texas, rises near Giddings and runs southeast through Lee, Fayette, and Colorado counties for sixty-five miles to its mouth on a horseshoe bend of the Colorado River, opposite Columbus. The stream is named for James (Jack) Cummins, one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred, who was granted the land at its mouth in 1824. Cummins built a sawmill and gristmill there in 1826. The stream, known to the Spanish as San Benave, was also called Mill Creek before acquiring the name of the pioneer. Cummins Creek is a major tributary of the Colorado River and was for many years subject to extensive flooding. Throughout its course and along its tributaries a large number of flood-control impoundments built through programs of the United States Department of Agriculture provide both flood protection and opportunities for recreation. Soils along the stream vary in composition but are generally erosible. Before 1960, the Cummins Creek watershed produced large quantities of cotton and corn. Most of this land has reverted to pasture for cattle and horses. The densely wooded banks, especially along the lower reaches of the creek, provide good stands of native pecans and excellent wildlife habitat.

Roesler House, in Austin County, Texas about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Nelsonville, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is a board-and-batten farmhouse built in 1892. It has also been known as the Old Roesler Place.It is a one-and-a-half-story building which is a "good example of a late nineteenth century vernacular German farmhouse in the area."It was a home of Frederick August Roesler. As The Old Roesler Place, it is a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark.

The Colorado County Courthouse, built in 1890, is a historic government building located at 400 Spring Street in Columbus, Colorado County, Texas. It was designed in a combination of Classical Revival and Italianate styles of architecture by noted Houston architect Eugene T. Heiner, who designed at least nine other Texas courthouses. Colorado County's fourth courthouse, it originally had a central bell tower which was replaced before 1939 by a central domed Tiffany-style skylight. On July 12, 1976, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was renovated in 2013, when historic colors were restored. It is still in use today as a courthouse.

The Tate-Senftenberg-Brandon House is a historic house in Columbus, Texas. The home was constructed in 1867 as a single story frame residence by local entrepreneur Phocion Tate. Tate's widow sold the house in 1887 to Adolph Senftenberg, a local merchant who added the second floor and Eastlake style porches. The property was sold again in 1900 to Kenneth Brandon who added modern amenities to the property. The house operated as a historic house museum from 1968 to 2006. The home is the birthplace of former Dallas mayor, J. Waddy Tate.

The Confederate Memorial Museum was a Confederate museum that occupied a former water tower at 1101–1199 Milam Street, Columbus, Texas, in the United States. The United Daughters of the Confederacy opened the museum in 1962. The water tower now houses a War Memorial Museum. The museum features artifacts from veterans of all wars, and photographs and a small collection of artifacts related to the city of Columbus and Colorado County.

Columbus High School is a public high school located in Columbus, Texas (USA) and classified as a 3A school by the UIL. It is part of the Columbus Independent School District located in central Colorado County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
