Libertad y Desarrollo, abbreviated to LyD, is a Chilean think tank focused on liberal, free market economic studies. Founded in 1990, the think tank defines itself as a "center for studies and private research, independent of any political, religious, business, or governmental organization, that is dedicated to the analysis of public affairs promoting the values and principles of a free society". The think tank is the Chilean representative of RELIAL, the Liberal Network of Latin America (Red Liberal de America Latina). The center is divided into 7 programs: Economic Program, Social Program, Society and Politics Program, Legislative Program, Environmental Program, and the Justice Program. The group's goal is to respond to these various issues with a liberal, free market perspective and to make public policy recommendations specific to Chile for legislators, but not to participate in government directly. Economists Hernan Büchi, Luis Larraín, Cristián Larroulet are affiliated with the think tank. LyD became involved the public discussion and policy recommendations regarding education reforms during the 2011 protests in Chile, testifying before the Senate's Education Commission.According to the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report (Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, University of Pennsylvania), LyD is ranked number 97 (of 100) in the "Top Think Tanks Worldwide (non-U.S.)", number 53 (of 150) in the "Top Think Tanks Worldwide (U.S. and non-U.S.)", and number 29 (of 50) in the "Best Think Tanks in Central and South America.

The Thai Ambassador in Santiago de Chile is the official representative of the Government in Bangkok to the Government of Chile and is concurrently accredited in San José, Costa Rica, Panama City and San Salvador.

On 8 September 2014, a fire extinguisher bomb exploded in the Escuela Militar metro station in Santiago, Chile, injuring 14 people, several seriously. Though no group or individual has claimed responsibility, the attacks have been attributed to the Chilean Anarchist group, Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Escuela Militar is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located beneath the cloverleaf-like interchange of Apoquindo Avenue and Américo Vespucio Avenue. The station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar. It remained the eastern terminus of the Line 1 until 7 January 2010, when the line was extended to Los Dominicos, and is named for the nearby Escuela Militar del Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins.

Cristóbal Colón is an underground metro station on the Line 4 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. This station is named for Cristóbal Colón Avenue, which in turn was named after Christopher Columbus. The station was opened on 30 November 2005 as part of the inaugural section of the line between Tobalaba and Grecia.

El Golf is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located in El Golf neighborhood, close to the building that serves as the seat of local government for Las Condes. The station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar.A work of art by Rodolfo Opazo is installed on the walls of the station.The station is undergoing renovation work to replace the original wall covering. The work was scheduled to be completed in February 2012.

Francisco Bilbao is an underground metro station on the Line 4 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located under the intersection of Tobalaba Avenue and Francisco Bilbao Avenue. The latter avenue, which is named after Francisco Bilbao, gives its name to the station. The station was opened on 30 November 2005 as part of the inaugural section of the line between Tobalaba and Grecia.

The Embassy of Sweden in Santiago is Sweden's diplomatic mission in Chile, currently located in Las Condes. Sweden first established diplomatic ties with Chile in the 19th century, opening a consulate in 1846. By 1939, the Swedish legation in Santiago became independent, and in 1956 it was elevated to a full embassy. During the 1973 Chilean coup, Ambassador Harald Edelstam and embassy staff played a key humanitarian role, rescuing political refugees and protecting cultural artifacts. Edelstam was expelled later that year, and Sweden maintained only a minimal presence until democracy returned in 1991. Since then, the embassy has resumed full diplomatic activities, including temporary responsibility for Peru when the Swedish embassy in Lima was closed. As of 2025, the embassy employs three Swedish diplomats, nine local staff, and one intern. Its mission includes promoting trade, culture, migration and consular matters, and reporting on politics, human rights, and the economy. The chancery has moved multiple times and, since 2023, is located at Apoquindo Avenue 2929. The ambassadorial residence, completed in 2006, is at 9640 Via Celeste Street in Vitacura and features a two-story modern design with glass walls, terraces, and expansive lawns.

St. Ignatius El Bosque (Spanish: Colegio San Ignacio El Bosque; abbreviated as SIEB) is a private Catholic primary and secondary, located in the Providencia district of Santiago, Chile. The school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1956 and is affiliated with the Latin American Federation of the Society of Jesus (FLACSI), and the site is the headquarters of the Ignatian Educational Network (REI).

Tobalaba is a station on the Santiago Metro in Chile, the northern terminus of Line 4 and is the closest station to the Costanera Center. The Line 1 station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar. It became an interchange station between Line 1 and the Line 4 on 30 November 2005, when the section of Line 4 between Tobalaba and Grecia was opened, and the appearance of the station was altered.
