Turloughmore ( tur-lokh-MOR; Irish: an Turlach Mór, meaning 'big lake') is a village in County Galway, Ireland. The name means "the large lake," a notable feature of the area, together with the Clare River (Abhainn an Chláir). Turloughmore lies on the N63 national secondary road. It is a small village consisting of two petrol stations, three pubs and the base of a bus service company. Turloughmore was designated as a census town by the Central Statistics Office for the first time in the 2016 census. As of the 2022 census, it had a population of 243 people.The village was once known for the horse fair held there, and for the faction-fighting that occurred at the fair (see John Callaghan (Galway)). The village represents a long-established settlement with a medieval history, and is near the site of the Battle of Knockdoe (Irish Cath Chnoc Tua), a bloody conflict in 1504 between some of the most powerful magnates of the time.

Cregmore (Irish: An Chreig Mhór, meaning 'big rock') is a small rural area situated in the parish of Lackagh, County Galway, Ireland. Cregmore is home to a soccer club, a primary school and a golf course. The name of the locality is derived from the Irish An Chreig Mhór roughly translating to 'big rock'; a reference to a steep in the area.

Corofin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Corofin, County Galway, Ireland. The club serves the two parishes of Cummer and Kilmoylan and Belclare. Corofin are the 2019–20 All-Ireland Club Champions, after winning their third-successive All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship final by defeating Kilcoo of Down in January 2020.

Carnmore (Irish: An Carn Mór) is an electoral area located at the southern end of the parish of Claregalway, approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland. Carnmore is in a Gaeltacht area, although the majority of residents use English as their first language. Incorporating the townlands of Carnmore, Carnmore West and Carnmore East, the area is represented in hurling competitions by Carnmore GAA. Galway Airport is also nearby.

St. Mary's, Athenry is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Athenry in County Galway, Ireland. In men's competitions, the club is a dual club competing in both Gaelic football and hurling at various age levels. The club also competes in camogie competitions, and has won several county, province and national titles in the sport.

Claregalway GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Claregalway, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships, while the Minor, Under-21 and Senior teams compete in all further levels. Although not a traditional stronghold of football, the success of the County Galway football teams in the 1950s/60s stimulated the imagination of local football enthusiasts. It was not long after Galways "Three In A Row" that the football club was founded in 1968. Notable players include Brian O'Donoghue and Dan Cummins. Danny and Adrian are members of the county panel. Current Cork panellist Paddy Moran is a former underage star with the club. At present, the club competes in the Senior Championship after being promoted in 2017 under the stewardship of Michael Coyle (jnr) after winning out in a replay against Shane Walsh in Tuam Stadium in very cold conditions.

Coláiste Bhaile Chláir is an Irish co-educational, multidenominational community college situated in Lakeview, Claregalway, County Galway. It is under the patronage of the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB).It is a Microsoft "showcase school", having been recognised by the company as a "global leader in successful integrations of technology with teaching and learning".

The R347 road is a regional road in Ireland, located in County Galway.

Ballyglunin railway station (Irish: Stáisiún traenach Bhéal Átha Glúinín) is a disused railway station close to the village of Ballyglunin in County Galway. Closed in 1976, the station building is a protected structure which is known for its association with the 1952 film, The Quiet Man.

Baile Chláir or Baile Chláir na Gaillimhe (anglicized Claregalway) is a Gaeltacht village about 10 km north of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland. Claregalway was founded on the banks of the River Clare, hence the derivation of its name: Baile Chláir na Gaillimhe meaning "town on the Clare, in Galway". Claregalway lies within the Gaeltacht and traditionally most of the locals would have spoken English only as a second language. Until September 2017, the village sat at the junction of the busy N17 and N18 national primary routes with over 27,000 vehicles having formerly passed through the village every day.

Galway Airport, Irish: Aerphort na Gaillimhe, IATA: GWY, ICAO: EICM, is located at Carnmore, 4 NM (7.4 km; 4.6 mi) east of Galway City, County Galway, Ireland and is managed by Corrib Airport Limited. It has not serviced any scheduled passenger traffic since 31 October 2011, when Aer Arann ceased commercial operations at the airport. At 1289 m (4230 ft), the runway is too short to handle most jet airliners and so scheduled services were restricted to turboprop aircraft or small executive jets. In November 2013, it was announced that the airport's aviation licence would cease, closing the airport. In January 2015, it was announced that the airport would reopen for private and commercial flights, but as of December 2015 the airport was "closed for commercial traffic until further notice".

Oranmore (Irish: Órán Mór or Úarán Mór) is a town near the city of Galway in County Galway, Ireland. It is also the name of the civil parish and Roman Catholic parish in which the town lies. It is 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Galway city on the edge of Oranmore Bay, an inlet of Galway Bay.
