Westmount Secondary School

Mountain Secondary School was a school located at 60 Caledon Avenue Hamilton Ontario. It was part of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. The school was founded in 1995 when the Caledon and Crestwood Vocational Schools merged, and had a 2009-2010 student enrolment of 328. Mountain Secondary School used the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to assess Grade 10 students' skills in reading and writing. Successful completion of the test is one of 32 requirements students needed to attain in order to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The school also offered special education classes and an ESL program. The HWDSB announced on 24 May 2012 that Mountain Secondary School would close, along with Hill Park Secondary School and Barton Secondary School. The students were moved to a new, $25 million school, and on June 26, 2017, the school closed down.

CIOI-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 101.5 FM in Hamilton, Ontario. The license for this campus radio station is held by the Mohawk College Radio Corporation at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. CIOI-FM was originally launched in 1975 as CHMR, broadcasting on carrier current and cable FM. On June 6, 1997, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approved the Mohawk College Radio Corporation's application to operate a new campus instructional FM station. The station launched on FM on March 23, 1998 as C101.5 FM. The station rebranded as INDI 101 in October 2009, corresponding to the huge majority of independent music that the station plays. On January 8, 2014, the station rebranded as "101.5 The Hawk." The station operates partly within the curriculum of Mohawk College's Music and Communications Media Programs which include radio broadcasting, broadcast journalism, advertising, television and music. Although any student at the college may volunteer to work at the station, priority is generally given to students who are currently studying in the Broadcasting and Journalism courses. Additionally a number of community members volunteer their time by hosting genre-specific radio programs on The Hawk. This combination of student-themed programming coupled with community-based and local-music supported programming allows The Hawk to provide a diversity in broadcasting for the Hamilton Ontario market. The Hawk studios are currently located in F wing at Mohawk College within the Department of Music and Communications Media. CIOI-FM's condition of license is to be an alternative to mainstream radio. The station's basic playlist consists of "non-mainstream" music such as local bands and new music, but also has specialty programming. The station vigorously supports the local Hamilton music environment and produces an annual music festival aimed at promoting local Hamilton music exclusively. This project called the C+C Music Festival is co-produced by fellow campus-community radio station CFMU-FM, located on the campus of McMaster University in Hamilton. Programming at The Hawk consists of independent-style music and a mix of cultural and ethnic broadcasts, and a segment of spoken word and educational programming.

The Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena & Skating Centre is a recreation complex in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It includes a figure skating rink and a 2,500-seat ice hockey arena. Originally it was built in 1966, known as the Mountain Arena until it was renovated in 2005 and renamed in honour of Dave Andreychuk, a former ice hockey player from Hamilton.

Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public college of applied arts and technology located in Hamilton, Ontario. Established in 1966, the college currently has three main campuses: the Fennell Campus on the Hamilton Mountain, the Stoney Creek Campus in Stoney Creek, and the Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster University. As of 2014, more than 1,000 faculty instructors, 12,500 full-time students, 4,000 apprentices, 46,000 continuing education registrants, and 1,800 international students have studied in more than 130 post-secondary and apprenticeship programs. Since its founding, over 115,000 students have graduated from Mohawk College.

The Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary is the operating name of the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches. It is the federational seminary of the Canadian Reformed Churches.

The Margaret and Charles Juravinski Centre is a psychiatric hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. It serves the south-central Ontario, Canada population. It was originally established in 1876 as the Hamilton Hospital for the Insane, which was operated by the Ontario government until it was taken over by the St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton in 2000.

Auchmar House is the centrepiece of Clairmont Park, the estate of the Honourable Isaac Buchanan (1810–1883), one of Hamilton's most influential citizens. It was built between 1852 and 1854 and is located at the northeast corner of Fennell Avenue and West 5th Street. The manor house, its several remaining outbuildings, and stone orchard wall occupy about 8 acres (32,000 m2) of land which include most of the original built features of the estate. However, the tiny Gatekeeper's Lodge, which resembles Auchmar House architecturally, became separated from the surviving portion of Clairmont Park. (It is located on the mountain brow at 71 Claremont Drive.) Auchmar House and the remaining contiguous portion of the Buchanan estate is a unique heritage asset owned by the citizens of Hamilton. It is recognized by the Ontario Heritage Trust as having significant historical value. Auchmar House is recognized as an outstanding example of the domestic Gothic Revival and, with its surrounding acreage, is a very rare example of a mid-Victorian estate in Ontario surviving in relatively intact condition. Isaac Buchanan served in the Parliament of the United Province of Canada as member for Toronto from 1841 to 1843 and member for Hamilton between 1857 and 1865. Between March and June, 1865 he held the office of President of the Council in the ministry headed by Etienne Tache and John A. Macdonald. His public involvements were diverse and included founding roles in both the Hamilton Board of Trade and the Toronto Board of Trade. Buchanan was an international merchant, first president of the Hamilton Club, and founder of the Thirteenth Battalion, a regiment which would later become the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. With Sir Allan MacNab, Bart. (1798-1862) and his elder brother Peter Buchanan (1806-1860), Isaac Buchanan played a key role in the establishment of the Great Western Railroad, which commenced operation in 1854 as the first major railroad in the United Province of Canada. In addition to his parliamentary career and involvement with numerous public and private bodies, Buchanan became a writer of some note on the subjects of currency and trade and is generally credited as being a formative influence on John A. Macdonald's National Policy.

The Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health (FIRH) is a center for the investigation and treatment of respiratory diseases. Based out of St. Joseph's Healthcare in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the institute is a clinical facility with strong research directions. FIRH faculty are also heavily involved at McMaster University with education at the undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education levels.

The Chedoke Hospital was a non-acute care hospital in Hamilton, Canada. It was operated by Hamilton Health Sciences. In 1906 the Mountain Sanatorium was founded to provide care for people from Hamilton and the surrounding communities who were ill with tuberculosis. In 1961 the sanatorium changed its mandate, expanded its services and became a general hospital called the Chedoke General and Children's Hospital. In 1971 this name was changed to Chedoke Hospitals. In 1979 it amalgamated with the McMaster University Medical Centre to become half of Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals. In 1997 Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals amalgamated with Hamilton Civic Hospitals to form Hamilton Health Sciences. It then became The Chedoke Hospital of Hamilton Health Sciences. and housed many McMaster Children's Hospital outpatient services, specializing in autism, developmental pediatrics & rehabilitation, and mental health. It held the internationally renowned Offord Centre for Child Studies. Other leading specialties include, chronic pain management, the regional joint assessment centre, and the Ontario breast screening program. All programs were transferred to other facilities and the structure was demolished in 2014.

CPR Aberdeen Yard is one of two CPR facilities in Hamilton. The yard is located in Kirkendall North, next to Chedoke Park and short distance from McMaster Children's Hospital Hamilton Health Sciences. The yard was formerly used by Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway and once had a roundhouse.

Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School is located at 145 Magnolia Drive in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and is a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School opened in 1969 and as of January 2016 has 873 students. The school was founded in 1969 and is named for Sir Allan MacNab, the last Premier of Upper Canada before Confederation and a resident, lawyer and politician in Hamilton from 1826 until his death in 1826 at his home, Dundurn Castle. Located on the west mountain of Hamilton, the school catchment area extends into Glanbrook and Ancaster.

St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic secondary school located in Hamilton. It is a part of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and is located on the west side of the Hamilton Mountain. It serves the south-west of Hamilton as well as parts of Glanbrook and Ancaster. It is the largest school in Hamilton, holding over 2,250 students and graduates approximately 400 students each year, with around 90% of them going pursuing post-secondary education. The school's 200 member staff are involved in numerous activities, sports and associations.
