Tres Cantos

Soto de Viñuelas is a meadow-oak forest north of the city of Madrid, south of Tres Cantos and San Agustín del Guadalix, east of the Monte de El Pardo and west of San Sebastián de los Reyes, all municipalities are parts of the Community of Madrid, Spain. Much of it is a fenced property of 3,000 hectares, which includes important ecological values, landscape and art. It belongs to the municipality of Madrid, although it contains small areas to the north, corresponding to Tres Cantos, including a development of the same name (i.e., Soto de Viñuelas). Other developments nearby are Ciudalcampo and Fuente del Fresno, situated on its western boundary. King's College, the British School of Madrid, is also located in the development of Soto de Viñuelas, abutting the Regional Park. In 1985 Soto de Viñuelas was turned into the Regional Park of the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, the largest protected natural area in the region. It has been classified as Area B, a legal instrument that allows agricultural land use. Soto de Viñuelas also received the status of Special Protection Area for Birds. It is accessed from the M-607 Freeway (Colmenar Viejo Freeway), exit 20. Soto de Viñuelas and Tres Cantos are both listed on the exit sign.

El Goloso is an administrative neighborhood (barrio) of Madrid belonging to the district of Fuencarral-El Pardo. On August 20, 1943, the Armoured Division No. 1 "Brunete" was established at the El Goloso Camp under the command of Major-General Ricardo Rada Peral.

The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Spanish: Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas – ICMAT) is a mixed institute affiliated to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in partnership with three public universities: the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), the Charles III University of Madrid (UC3M) and the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). Founded in 2010, the ICMAT headquarters is located in the Cantoblanco Campus in Northern Madrid. The ICMAT is composed of the mathematicians belonging to the CSIC and researchers from the three Madrid universities. The structure and composition of the center was based on an initial selection carried out with the assistance of the National Agency for Public Education (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva – ANEP) after a public call issued to all interested parties.

The Autonomous University of Madrid (Spanish: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; UAM), commonly known as la Autónoma, is a Spanish public university located in Madrid, Spain. The university was founded in 1968 by royal decree. UAM is widely respected as one of the most prestigious universities in Europe. According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, UAM is ranked as the top university in Spain and has consistently ranked as #1 in Spain in the El Pais University rankings, published annually. Among its notable alumni, which include every president that the Supreme Court of Spain and Constitutional Court of Spain has had, is the current King of Spain, Felipe VI, who studied the Licenciatura en Derecho (Law) and is the president of UAM’s alumni society. The campus of the university spans a rural tract of 650 acres (260 ha), mostly around metropolitan Madrid. Founded in 1968, its main campus, Cantoblanco, is located near the cities of Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes and Tres Cantos. UAM's Cantoblanco Campus holds most of the university's facilities. It is located 15 km (9.3 mi) north of Madrid and has an extension of over 2,200,000 m2 (24,000,000 sq ft). Of these, nearly 770,000 m2 (8,300,000 sq ft) are urbanised and about a third of them garden areas. UAM offers 94 doctorate programs in all of the universities studies. It also offers 88 master's degrees. According to a study carried out by the newspaper El Mundo, in 2021, UAM was the best university in the country to study Biology, Nursing, Medicine, Physics and Law, within the 50 careers with the highest demand.

Padre Manyanet School [2] in Alcobendas (Madrid, Spain) began life on 27 September 1980. In 1990 there was an enlargement, so that pupils could study in the school until the very last year before university. It is a religious school of the Congregation of Sons and Daughters of the Holy Family for pupils aged three to eighteen. The current headmaster of the school is Father A. Pérez. The school is located in the outskirts of Alcobendas, in the countryside, at the 3rd kilometre on the M-616 road. Its position on a hill gives the school great sights from the city of Madrid and also from the north and north-west mountain range in the Community of Madrid. There are two universities in the nearness: the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and the Autonomous University of Madrid [3]. There are several ways to get to the school using public transport. Most pupils take the bus to go to classes, since the nearest suburban train station, which is very close to Comillas University, is several minutes away on foot. The school is also connected to Alcobendas by a bicycle track.

The Torre de la Parada is a former hunting lodge that was located in present-day Monte de El Pardo in Fuencarral-El Pardo, near the Royal Palace of El Pardo, some way outside Madrid in the Sierra de Guadarrama. It was mostly destroyed by fire when taken in 1714 by Austrian troops in the War of Spanish Succession, though the ruins remain.

The Basilica of la Asunción de Nuestra Señora (Spanish: Basílica de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora) is a gothic basilica located in Colmenar Viejo, Spain. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 1997.

Manuel de Falla is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.

Baunatal is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.The station was named after the Avenida de Baunatal, which in turn got its name from the Hessian town of Baunatal, a sister city of San Sebastián de los Reyes since 1990.

La Granja is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.

Marqués de la Valdavia is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.

Montecarmelo is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone A. The station gives service to the homonymous neighborhood, Madrid, Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes.
