Lincoln High School is a public high school located in the city of Lincoln, California. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Western Placer Unified School District. It is one of two high schools in Lincoln, California and has its own working school farm - the largest working school farm west of the Mississippi river. The school finished construction of the Edward A. Grey Sports Complex in 2005, including a new stadium and baseball fields. In 2007 Lincoln High School celebrated its 100th anniversary with the largest graduating class in the school's history. while also celebrating the honor of receiving the California Distinguished school award earned by that year's graduating class.

The Woman's Club of Lincoln is a historic women's club. Its clubhouse, at 499 E St. in Lincoln, California, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.The club began as a Woman's Improvement Club in 1911 "for the purpose of serving the community and enriching the lives of its members. This women's group eventually became the Woman's Club of Lincoln, a club historically significant for its involvement in the welfare of the citizens of the community and its interest in the betterment and beautification of the City of Lincoln." It organized more formally, by adopting by-laws, in 1922 and had its building constructed during 1923–24. The clubhouse is a one-story stuccoed wood-frame 62 by 55 feet (19 m × 17 m) building with a red clay tile roof.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort is a hotel and casino located in unincorporated Placer County in Whitney, California near the city of Lincoln, California, 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Sacramento. It is owned and operated by the United Auburn Indian Community and designed by architect Edward Vance of JMA Architecture Studios, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The resort opened on June 9, 2003. It was operated by Station Casinos from 2003 to 2010.The 275,000-square-foot (25,550 m²) facility offers a variety of gaming including slot machines, live poker and various other table games.

Whitney High School is a public school located in the southern Placer County city of Rocklin, California, a settlement in the northern Sacramento metropolitan area. Whitney is one of two high schools in Rocklin Unified School District; its counterpart is Rocklin High School. The school is the district's newest educational facility, having opened in 2005 to freshmen and sophomores; Whitney's first freshmen graduated at the end of the 2008–09 school year. That same school year, Whitney was recognized as a California Distinguished School. The school educates its students using a modified block schedule program that alternates four periods every two days. Students are subject to eight different periods in total. Students at the school are also taught through a standard-based essential skills program, where students must demonstrate mastery of all skills deemed necessary in a class before credits can be earned; additionally, students must achieve a grade higher than C by the year's end, as scores lower than C equate to a "No mark", and the course must be retaken. As of the end of the 2009–10 school year, the high school fielded twenty-three clubs, including an award-winning school yearbook (known as Details), a school newspaper (known as the Roar), and an Emmy winning broadcast program (known as Unleashed). Whitney also ran twenty-three sports teams as of the 2008–09 school year; the football and girls' soccer teams were champions at the 2009 Sac-Joaquin Section Championships for the respective sports.

Whitney is an unincorporated community in Placer County, California. Whitney is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad, 6 miles (9.7 km) north-northwest of Roseville. It lies at an elevation of 131 feet (40 m) and is home to the Thunder Valley Casino Resort. The name honors a local rancher, Joel Parker Whitney.Whitney's Pyramid Tomb is located in Rocklin, California at 38.825928°N 121.246666°W / 38.825928; -121.246666 and is accessible from Rocklin Monument Park from two approaches. The first if from the paved walking path of the park that begins in the cul-de-sac of Ketchikan Drive, and the second is from a footpath starting near the end of Hood Road and Sitka Drive in Rocklin.

KFIA (710 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a Christian talk and teaching format. Licensed to Carmichael, California, the station serves the Sacramento metropolitan area. The station is currently owned by New Inspiration Broadcasting Company, Inc. which is a part of Salem Communications.KFIA is powered at 25,000 watts by day. But because 710 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KIRO Seattle and WOR New York City, KFIA must greatly reduce power at night to 1,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is off North Foothills Boulevard at Athens Avenue in Rocklin. KFIA programming is also heard on 250 watt FM translator K289CT 105.7 MHz in Sacramento.

Jessup University is a private Christian university in Rocklin, California, with additional sites in San Jose, California and Portland, Oregon. The university had 1,743 (over 1650 full-time equivalent) students during the 2019–20 academic year. Founded in 1939, it had a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,289 in the fall of 2020 on a 126-acre (51 ha) campus.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is a public charter school serving grades 7-12 in Rocklin, California a northeastern suburb located near Sacramento, California. It is part of the Rocklin Academy Family of Schools, which also includes two elementary schools and one TK-8 school located in Rocklin.

Virginiatown (formerly, Virginia) is a former settlement in Placer County, California. Virginiatown is located on Auburn Ravine, 7.5 miles (12.1 km) west of Auburn.Virginiatown is California Historical Landmark #400. The town was the site of one of California's first railroads, built in 1852 to carry gold ore from the mines to Auburn Ravine. After the first wave of gold mining ended, wood-cutting became an important local industry, to support railroad construction and to fuel the kiln at the pottery mill in nearby Lincoln. A large number of Chinese miners moved into the area around this time and reworked the diggings; the white residents voted to expel the Chinese from town in 1860, claiming a "fire hazard", and the Chinese resettled just west of town. A Chinese temple stood outside Virginiatown as late as 1907, and two rammed-earth Chinese houses were still standing as of 1957.The site of Virginiatown is now occupied by rural homes and small farms.

Kilaga Springs is a historic natural spring and resort in Placer County, California. Kilaga Springs is located 10.5 miles (16.9 km) west-northwest of Auburn. It lies at an elevation of 509 feet (155 m).Kilaga Springs was established in 1923 on the site of a former mine known as Whiskey Diggings, where water seeped from the old mines. The name "Kilaga" came from the first letters of the site's founders, Kimberlin, Landis, and Gaylord. The water was said to have healing properties and was bottled and distributed. A spa and resort was soon built, which burned in 1924 and 1938; the spa closed after co-founder Edwin Gaylord was found dead in one of the cottages in 1940. The site was abandoned for many years after that, but a new resort has recently been established at the site.

Rocklin is a city in Placer County, California, located approximately 22 miles (35 km) from Sacramento, California, and about 6.1 miles (9.8 km) northeast of Roseville in the Sacramento metropolitan area. Besides Roseville, it shares borders with Granite Bay, Loomis and Lincoln. As of the 2010 census, Rocklin's population was 56,974. The California Department of Finance placed the 2019 population at 68,823.
