Greenspring Avenue

Quarry Lake is a manmade lake in the Pikesville area of Baltimore County, Maryland. Originally a marble quarry, it is now one of the deepest lakes in the state. The lake is surrounded by Quarry Lake at Greenspring, a mixed residential development and commercial development that includes single-family homes, condominiums, shops, and office buildings.

Congregation Shomrei Emunah (Hebrew: קהילת שומרי אמונה) is an Orthodox Jewish synagogue in the Greenspring neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. Rabbi Binyamin Marwick is the synagogue's rabbi.

Pikesville High School (PHS) is a four-year public high school in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Baltimore County Public Schools consolidated school district. The school was opened in 1964 as Pikesville Senior High School with grades 9–11 and was renamed in the mid-1980s as part of a countywide grade realignment. The classes currently span on 80-minute periods with an A and B day schedule. The school has recently received a $40 million renovation, including a math wing and science wing that replaced a single hallway of rooms and adjacent courtyard. The other courtyard was filled with more learning spaces. The cafeteria was expanded along with asbestos removal. The school is located in the community of Pikesville, just inside Baltimore County to the northwest of Baltimore City. It is located on the corner of Smith Avenue and Labyrinth Road. The school's district borders Towson High School, Dulaney High School, Owings Mills High School, New Town High School, Randallstown High School, Milford Mill High School, and Woodlawn High School. In 2005, Pikesville High was named as one of the top 100 America's best high schools.

Forest Park (and Howard Park) is a region of Northwest Baltimore, Maryland located west of Reisterstown Road, south of Northern Parkway, and east of the Baltimore City/County line. In Baltimore, the region is referred to by locals simply as "Forest Park" and includes the neighborhoods of Ashburton, Callaway-Garrison, Central Forest Park, Dolfield, Dorchester, East Arlington, Forest Park, Grove Park, Hanlon Longwood, Howard Park, Garwyn Oaks, Purnell, West Arlington, West Forest Park, and Windsor Hills. Developed as suburban-type residential housing, it is an economically diverse area that was once the center of Baltimore's Jewish community as it moved from downtown. During the Vietnam War era, however, the area experienced white flight, while it was 95% White in 1960, it became 95% Black in 1970. It is now an almost exclusively African American region of Baltimore. The neighborhoods in Forest Park and Howard Park are varied. Some have suffered urban decay and crime related to the city's job losses, while many continue to be suburban and upper-middle-class neighborhoods. Ashburton, for instance, is the home of former city mayor Catherine Pugh, as well as past mayor Kurt Schmoke and other prominent African-American political leaders.

Cheswolde is residential community in northwest Baltimore, Maryland. It is located along the Western Run. The main roads running through the area are Greenspring Avenue, Cross Country Boulevard, and Taney Road. The history of Cheswolde dates back to the 18th century. At that time, Charles Carroll of Carrollton owned the land to the north of the Western Run in the vicinity of Greenspring Avenue and Pimlico Road.During the 19th century, the land along the Western Run was used for a mill that was damaged in a flood in 1868.The majority of Cheswolde's current homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s.Cheswolde has a large Orthodox Jewish population and is one of four areas of the Jewish community of northwest Baltimore. The others are Cross Country, Fallstaff, and Glen.

The Park School of Baltimore, known as Park, is a private, coeducational, non-sectarian, progressive day school for children in Pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through grade twelve. Park is located in Brooklandville, Maryland, near the city of Baltimore.

Carroll Hunting Lodge is a stone house built around 1790, in the Cheswolde area of Baltimore, Maryland. It is a Baltimore City Landmark, and one of the oldest in the surrounding neighborhood. The house stands on land formerly owned by Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737-1832), a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Whether Carroll used the house is unknown. The house was built on a 1,200-acre tract owned by Charles Carroll called "Labrynth"; Labrynth may also have been the historic name for the house. There is no evidence that Carroll used the house as a hunting lodge, but it is likely it was built as the foreman's house for an adjacent mill that Carroll owned. From 1803 to 1809, the property was owned by Bernard Sourzac, one of several French immigrants from Haiti who settled in Mount Washington in the early 1800s. Years later, in the mid-19th century, the property formed part of a light industrial complex of snuff and tobacco mills along the Western Run, known as the Pimlico Tobacco Works. An advertisement from that period shows both men and women smoking and taking snuff. The great flood of 1868 caused much damage to the mill property, and this imposing structure is the one surviving building. It is an excellent example of Maryland 18th-century vernacular architecture in its symmetry and simplicity; its heavy stone construction suggests how remote this area was, at that time, from the fashionable City of Baltimore.

Pikesville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. Pikesville is just northwest of the Baltimore city limits. It is the northwestern suburb closest to Baltimore. The population was 30,764 at the 2010 census. The corridor along Interstate 795, which links Pikesville, Owings Mills and Reisterstown to the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695), contains one of the larger Jewish populations in Maryland.

Congregation Tiferes Yisroel – Beis Dovid (Hebrew: תפארת ישראל בית דוד), also known as Rabbi Goldberger's Shul, is an Orthodox Jewish congregation and synagogue located at 6201 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. The congregation rabbi is Rabbi Menachem Goldberger.

Congregation Shearith Israel (Hebrew: קהילת שארית ישראל דבאלטימאר; nicknamed The Glen Avenue Shul) is a historic synagogue and congregation in Northwest Baltimore, Maryland. Shearith Israel is noteworthy as being the oldest Baltimore congregation to remain Orthodox throughout its history.

Beth Tfiloh Congregation is a Modern Orthodox congregation and synagogue located at 3300 Old Court Road, in Pikesville, Maryland, in the United States. With approximately 3,500 members, and seating for 1,600 worshippers, Beth Tfiloh claims it is the largest Modern Orthodox congregation in the United States.

Glen is a neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland. It was developed in the early 1920s and 1930s, with the remaining development coming in the 1940s through the 1960s. Glen is one of the largest communities of Northern Park Heights in Baltimore. Glen is a neighborhood of mixed housing types that include Tudor, French Norman and brick ranch houses, along with garden apartments, condominiums and semi-detached single family homes. The neighborhood, and its notable coexistence of African Americans and Orthodox Jews, have at least twice been featured in The Baltimore Sun: April 29, 2001, and May 13, 2004. The neighborhood's motto is "Glen is a Great Place to Live".
