Emmett J. Conrad High School is a public high school located in Vickery Meadow, Dallas, Texas. Emmett J. Conrad High School, which covers grades 9-12, is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school serves most of Vickery Meadow and the DISD portion of Highland Meadows. It is named for Dallas surgeon and civic leader Emmett James Conrad. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Lake Highlands station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is located near the intersection of Skillman Street and Walnut Hill Lane in the Lake Highlands area, adjacent to the Lake Highlands Town Center development. It serves the Blue Line. DART announced plans for the station in 2006. It opened on December 6, 2010 as part of the Blue Line expansion and the second infill station in DART's system.

Vickery Meadow is an ethnically-diverse neighborhood consisting almost exclusively of apartment complexes in Northeast Dallas, Texas, United States. The Vickery Midtown Public Improvement District states the neighborhood is bounded by Northwest Highway, Royal Lane, Central Expressway, and Abrams. The City of Dallas Office of Economic Development states that the boundaries of the Vickery Meadow Tax Increment Financing district, which was established in 2005, are “the east side of the intersection of US 75 (Central Expressway) and Park Lane and extends eastward along Park Lane to the ‘Five Points’ intersection at Park Lane, Fair Oaks Avenue and Ridgecrest Road.” Leslie Minora of the Dallas Observer described it as "a dense swath of about 100 apartment complexes cradled by NorthPark Center and Whole Foods to the west and Half Price books [sic] to the south. It's an overlooked anthill, population 25,000, packed with people here by circumstance."The area is one of the most densely populated areas of Dallas and is home to many immigrants and refugees. The area was originally developed to provide housing for childless, upper-income people in the mid-1970s. The area was built out in the early 1980s. With the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1968, the demographics shifted to a mostly low income, immigrant population from Latin America and other countries around the world. During that time, area public schools began to become overcrowded. The school district responded by opening new schools in the area, including one high school, one middle school, and several elementary schools; some apartment complexes were razed to make room for new schools. The Vickery Midtown Improvement District (VMID), a coalition of fifty area organizations, serves the Vickery Meadow area. In 2014 the Dallas City Council member representing Vickery Meadow, Jennifer Staubach Gates, referred to it as "kind of the melting pot of America".

Bakke Graduate University (BGU) is a Private online graduate school headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It has students, faculty, alumni, and courses in over 60 countries focused on urban studies, sustainable business, and Christian theology. The university is composed of three colleges: a college of Christian theology focusing on global Christian movements; a college of urban studies studying relief, development and advocacy in cities; a college of business, including a global MBA for sustainable business entrepreneurship.Typical students serve in business, government, NGO, or churches with roles as pastors, consultants, authors, urban ministers, professors or justice activists. Over 70% of BGU's faculty, students and alumni are located outside of North America with concentrations in Africa, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, and South America. The BGU student body is significantly diverse. Students are not required to relocate from their home cities except for occasional two week long city immersions in various global cities or mentored events.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas (Texas Health Dallas, Presbyterian, or Presby) is a teaching hospital and tertiary care facility in the United States, located in the Vickery Meadow area of Dallas, Texas. It is the flagship institution of 29 hospitals in Texas Health Resources, the largest healthcare system in North Texas and one of the largest in the United States. The hospital, which opened in 1966, has 875 beds and around 1,200 physicians. The hospital is the largest business within Vickery Meadow. In 2008, the hospital implemented a program in which critical care physician specialists are available to patients in the medical and surgical intensive care units 24 hours a day, eliminating ventilator-associated pneumonia, central line infections and pressure ulcers. The hospital has maintained an active internal medicine residency training program since 1977, and hosts rotating medical students from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Walnut Hill station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It serves DART's Red and Orange Lines and is located in North Dallas at Walnut Hill Lane and Manderville Lane, just east of US 75 (North Central Expressway). It is the second of four elevated stations on the DART that opened on July 1, 2002, and it serves nearby residential and shopping areas of Lake Highlands, as well as Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Park Lane station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is located at Park Lane and Greenville Avenue, just east of Central Expressway, in North Dallas. It opened on January 10, 1997 and served as the northern terminus of the Red Line until July 1, 2002. The original station, which was at ground level, was replaced with an elevated station, the first of four on the DART Red Line. The nearby Walnut Hill station, of similar design, also opened with the current Park Lane station in July 2002. The original station is still present, however remains used for storage. This station serves NorthPark Center, nearby shops and Campbell Center.

Forest Meadow is a suburban residential neighborhood within the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, Texas. The neighborhood is thought of today as being bounded by Greenville Avenue on the west, Whitehurst Drive on the south, Abrams Road on the east, and an alley demarcating the neighborhood from businesses and apartment blocks on Forest Lane to the north. However, the earliest plats identified by the name "Forest Meadows" were east of Abrams Road and some plats were south of Whitehurst Drive. These eastern areas are now generally considered part of Town Creek for neighborhood association purposes. Earlier plats used the name "Forest Meadows" and this nomenclature is also in use to describe neighborhoods in the area.

White Rock station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is located in East Dallas at East Northwest Highway (Loop 12) near West Lawther Drive. It opened on September 24, 2001 and is a station on the Blue Line, serving nearby White Rock Lake and its residences and businesses. This was a short term northeastern terminus of the Blue Line until it was extended to LBJ/Skillman in May 2002.

The Shops at Park Lane is an upscale shopping center in Dallas, Texas, United States, just across from NorthPark Center. It is the shopping part of the Park Lane Development located at 8080 Park Lane, which includes The Heights, an apartment complex, and a set of office buildings. This mixed-use development was designed by TBG Partners, a landscape architecture firm in Austin, Texas, and developed by developer Harvest Partners of Dallas.The Shops at Park Lane opened in 2009 as Park Lane with anchor stores including Dick's Sporting Goods and the third Nordstrom Rack in the state. Whole Foods Market also opened a flagship store at Park Lane. Saks Fifth Avenue opened an Off Fifth outlet store soon afterward. Also part of the center are residences and 350,000 square feet of office space. Other early tenants included Lane Bryant and The Children's Place. Overall, the retail center includes 750,000 square feet of retail space.In 2010, the center was renamed from Park Lane as it added Old Navy and Ulta. Later that year, Northwood Investors of New York City acquired the property, though the original developers retained a financial stake and continue to operate the project.In 2014, it was announced that the center added a pilates studio, Studio 6 Fitness and will add Bar Louie and Zyn22 Spin Studio before the end of the year. The announcement also shared additions for 2015, including a 2,500 square foot flagship Starbucks as well as Zoe's Kitchen, a boutique pet store called Unleashed by Petco and a men's big and tall clothing store called DXL. Finally, the Shops at Park Lane was completed in 2015.
