The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (Spanish: Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores), popularly known as Tierra Santa, is a Roman Catholic parish church in Montevideo, Uruguay.The temple is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. The parish was established on 30 October 1919. It is located in the barrio of Larrañaga, in an area which was part of La Blanqueada in the past. The Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra holds concerts here during its seasons.

The Crandon Institute (Spanish: Instituto Crandon) is a private bilingual Methodist school in Montevideo, Uruguay. Crandon was founded in 1879 by teacher Cecilia Güelfi as the Liceo Evangélico, or Evangelical High School, and was the first school in the country with roots in the Evangelical movement. Renamed Crandon Institute in 1906 as a tribute to the American Methodist Mrs. Frank P. Crandon, it occupies a central location on the corner of 8 de Octubre Avenue and Garibald in Barrio La Blanqueada, Montevideo.

Avenida 8 de Octubre is one of the main thoroughfares of Montevideo, Uruguay, extending 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from Tres Cruces at the intersection with 18 de Julio Avenue to Maroñas, where it turns into Camino Maldonado. After extending for 250 m, it passes under Artigas Boulevard through a 300 m tunnel, and rises to the surface between Avelino Miranda and Presidente Batlle streets. Extended through La Blanqueada, Unión, and Maroñas, a large number of shops, public institutions, educational centers and hospitals are concentrated on this avenue.

The Estadio Gran Parque Central, usually just Parque Central, is the stadium of Club Nacional de Football. It is located in Montevideo, Uruguay, near Nacional headquarters (exactly between the streets Carlos Anaya, Jaime Cibils, General Urquiza and Comandante Braga), in the La Blanqueada neighbourhood. In this stadium, Nacional plays most of its home games. This stadium was one of the venues of the 1930 FIFA World Cup, and it is the ground in which one of the first matches in the history of the FIFA World Cup were played (when in group D the United States defeated Belgium 3–0 on July 13, 1930). This historical fact was remembered by FIFA on two occasions: 1987 and 2005. At the same time, another match was played at the now defunct Estadio Pocitos, between France and Mexico, where the first ever goal on a world cup was scored. The stadium has four main stands: Tribuna José María Delgado (North), Tribuna Atilio García (South), Tribuna Abdón Porte (West), Tribuna Héctor Scarone (East), named after famous Nacional players (like Atilio García, Abdón Porte and Héctor Scarone) and a chairman of the club (José María Delgado).

La Blanqueada is a barrio (neighbourhood or district) of Montevideo, Uruguay.

The British Hospital or Hospital Británico is a private hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the barrio of Parque Batlle, just west of the park of the same name. It was first established by the British in the Ciudad Vieja under the name Hospital Extranjero (Foreign Hospital) in 1857. It moved to its current location under the current name in 1913. For more than 40 years it has offered a private health insurance to its members called "British Hospital Scheme".

Pista de Atletismo Darwin Piñeirúa is an athletic stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is situated in the Parque Batlle near Estadio Centenario.

Parque Batlle (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpaɾke ˈβaʃe]), formerly Parque de los Aliados (Allied Park), is a barrio (neighbourhood or district) and a major public central park in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is named in honour of José Batlle y Ordóñez, President of Uruguay from 1903-1907 and 1911–1915.

Hospital de Clínicas "Dr. Manuel Quintela" is a hospital in the Parque Batlle neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay. It belongs to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic. It functions as a general hospital, and is a general reference institution. The building was designed by architect Carlos Surraco in 1928–1929. The Hospital was inaugurated on 21 September 1953. For many years it was led by Hugo Villar, who was a considerable influence on the institution. The hospital has a built-up area of 110,000 m2 on 23 floors arranged.

Larrañaga is a neighbourhood or Barrio of Montevideo, Uruguay.

The Italian Hospital of Montevideo, whose official name is Ospedale italiano Umberto I, (Spanish: Hospital Italiano de Montevideo) is a clinic and sanatorium founded in 1890 near Parque Batlle, Montevideo. It lies just to the north of the 1830 obelisk and the Hospital Pereira Rossell. The building, of the late neoclassical style, is the work of architect Luis Andreoni. The structure, as well as the pillars supporting the basis on which the original model, are the result of a process of construction tardío en a city that, in essence, had just started to expand in the last part of the 18th century, with the arrival of immigrants from Europe after the end of the internal wars and the independence war of the new country. The hospital functions, since then, almost continually for more than 110 years. Its deterioration in time has brought the need for restoration to many of its facilities, including the side and rear facades, which was done with funding supplied jointly by the Uruguayan and Italian governments in 2003.

Parque Luis Méndez Piana is a multi-use stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is currently used primarily for football matches and is the home stadium of Miramar Misiones. The stadium holds 4,000 people.The stadium is the located in the Parque Batlle, between the Estadio Centenario and the Parque Palermo.
