Myyrmäki Church (Finnish: Myyrmäen kirkko, Swedish: Myrbacka kyrka), is a Lutheran church in the Myyrmäki neighborhood in the city of Vantaa. It is located near Louhela commuter train station. The church was designed by architect Juha Leiviskä and it was opened in 1984. It is also known as the Church of Light. In Leiviskä's own words: "To me, a building as such, 'as a piece of architecture', is nothing. Its real significance is revealed in counterpoint with its surroundings, with life and with light."In addition to the actual sanctuary, the building houses a separate chapel, two meeting halls, the parish offices, and facilities for children’s and young people’s ministries. The sanctuary seats 450, but with the adjoining meeting halls the capacity is over 700.Vantaankoski Parish is one of seven Evangelical-Lutheran parishes in Vantaa with a membership of c. 30,000. Myyrmäki Church is the main church of the parish.The organ of Myyrmäki Church was built by Kangasalan urkurakentamo in 1986. The sound of the organ is mainly Baroque in style.Leiviskä has stated that when designing the church the ideal he had in mind was the Neresheim Abbey in Bavaria, southern Germany, the late Baroque church designed by architect Balthasar Neumann. The British architecture historian Kenneth Frampton has discussed this aspect of Leiviskä's church architecture, stating: "The Baroque churches of Southern Germany are the conscious inspiration for these (church) works, as Leiviskä openly concedes, even if the syntax could hardly be more removed from the plasticity of Balthasar Neumann. An indirect, hypersensitive play of light on a set of highly susceptible layered lattices and planes is patently the aesthetic modus operandi in these churches. And to this ludic game we must add the equally playful layering of lights miraculously floating at the ends of imperceptible cords..."

Myyrmäki (Swedish: Myrbacka), literally meaning "Bog Hill", is a district and major region of the municipality of Vantaa, Finland. The district has an area of 2.7 square kilometres (1.0 sq mi) and a population of about 17,000, making it the most populous district in Vantaa. It is home to Myyrmanni, a large shopping complex. The Myyrmäki major region consists of 11 districts with a total population of 52,267 (as of 1.1.2014), making it the most populous major region in Vantaa. The area is served by the Myyrmäki and Louhela stations on the I and P lines of the Helsinki commuter rail network. Just to the south-east is Malminkartanonhuippu, an artificial hill which is the highest point in Helsinki.

Martinlaakso railway station (Finnish: Martinlaakson rautatieasema; Swedish: Mårtensdals järnvägsstation) is a Helsinki commuter rail station located in Vantaa, Finland. It is approximately 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) north of Helsinki Central railway station. The station is served by circular lines I and P, and is between the stations of Louhela and Vantaankoski. There is an island platform; one side for northbound and another side for southbound trains. There is one lift and a waiting room, although it is not possible to buy tickets from the station. The local bus station is situated nearby. Prior to the construction of the station at Vantaankoski in 1991, Martinlaakso was the northern terminus for the M line (hence the name of the line). A shopping center was built next to the station in 2011.

Myyrmanni is a shopping center located at the Myyrmäki suburb of Vantaa, Finland. The center was built in the early 1990s and it has over 90 stores and 1,100 parking spaces. The main tenants of the shopping center include S-market, Alko, H&M, Lindex, Clas Ohlson, Tokmanni and Burger King.From the center of Helsinki Myyrmanni is best reached by bus 300 or by P-train to Myyrmäki Station located next to the mall. Myyrmanni was the site of a bombing on October 11, 2002. 7 people were killed.In 2010 the Mall attempted to improve the customer flow to the second floor as there were queues at the landscape lifts and the steel car lifts were ignored. Kone Lifts turned the elevators into a Hall of Fame for the 'Incredibles' comic strip characters. Making their Elevators more attractive to the public solved the people flow problem. This practical case of service design thinking is used in literature as an example of extending products into services.

The Myyrmanni bombing took place on October 11, 2002, in Myyrmäki, Vantaa, Finland, in Greater Helsinki, at the Myyrmanni shopping mall. A bomb was hidden in a backpack, which exploded in the central square of the shopping center on top of a metal waste container, located in the center of the square, at 19:36. Five people were instantly killed, including the bomber. The waste container was shattered, and fragments of the structure increased the amount of shrapnel and the devastation. The explosion ruined 400 m² of the shopping center, carved a 10-cm deep crater in the floor where the waste container had stood and blew the glass dome over the square up and outwards from the mall. In total seven died, including two teenagers and a 7-year-old. 159 were injured, including 10 children. 66 victims required hospitalization with the remainder treated and released at the scene. The bombing took place during the pre-weekend shopping surge late on a Friday afternoon, with 1,000–2,000 people in the shopping center, including many children who had come to see a clown performance.

Martinlaakso (Swedish: Mårtensdal) is a district in Vantaa, Finland. Located in the Myyrmäki major region, it is the second most populous district in all of Vantaa, after Myyrmäki itself. In 2014, Martinlaakso had a population of 11,811, narrowly beating out Hakunila. Martinlaakso has two railway stations, Martinlaakso railway station and Vantaankoski railway station, as well as a medical center, several shopping areas, and a comprehensive school (lower level [6 years] and upper level [three years]) and an upper secondary school. It is the birthplace of former Formula One drivers Mika Häkkinen and Mika Salo. Former Formula One star Kimi Räikkönen also spent a part of his childhood in Martinlaakso. Martinlaakso was the home for Martinkeskus, which was the largest shopping center in the Nordic countries at the time of its completion in 1960s. Another shopping center in the area is Martinlaakson Ostari, which was completed in 2011.

Vantaankoski railway station (Finnish: Vantaankosken rautatieasema, Swedish: Vandaforsens järnvägsstation) is a Helsinki commuter rail station located in Vantaa, Finland. It is approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of the Helsinki Central railway station. The station is part of the Ring Rail Line (Kehärata) route, which links Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and central Vantaa with the Helsinki commuter train network. The station was the northbound terminus for the M commuter line from central Helsinki until 2015. The next station to the south is Martinlaakso, which was the northern terminus of the M line until the construction of Vantaankoski in 1991. The station has an island platform and local bus connections are available nearby.

Sanomala is a printing press of the Sanoma newspaper company located in the district of Martinlaakso in Vantaa, Finland. The press is used to print Helsingin Sanomat, Ilta-Sanomat, Hufvudstadsbladet and other newspapers of the company. Helsingin Sanomat alone forms over two thirds of the total printing volume. The press also prints minute amounts of newspapers from different companies. The surface area of the Sanomala press is 5.4 hectares. As well as the Sanoma newspaper company, the building also hosts premises for other companies in the graphics industry.

PK-35 Vantaa (previously Pallokerho-35 or PK-35) was a Finnish men's football team, based in Vantaa. It last played in the Veikkausliiga, the top-tier men's football league in Finland. The team was based at the Myyrmäen jalkapallostadion in the Myyrmäki district of Vantaa at the time of its dissolution, after the 2016 season.

PK-35 Vantaa (formerly Pallokerho-35 or PK-35) is a football club based in Vantaa, Finland. The club is "dedicated to women's football" and its representative team plays in the Kansallinen Liiga, the top-tier women's league in Finland (called the Naisten Liiga, 2006–2019). PK-35 Vantaa has won the Finnish Championship six times and the Finnish Women's Cup four times. The club's home ground is the Myyrmäen jalkapallostadion (Myyrmäki Football Stadium) in the Myyrmäki district of Vantaa. The club had a men's representative team from 1935 until 2016, which last played in the 2016 season of the Veikkausliiga.

Myyrmäen jalkapallostadion (Myyrmäki Football Stadium) (Swedish: Myrbackas fotbollsstadion), formerly ISS Stadion and Pohjola Stadion, is a football stadium in the Myyrmäki district of Vantaa, Finland. It is the homeground of PK-35 Vantaa, its men's representative team plays in the Kolmonen and its women's representative team plays in the top-tier Kansallinen Liiga. The stadium holds 4,700 and was built in 2000. The IFAF 2018 European Championship of American Football will be held in Myyrmäen jalkapallostadion at 29 July - 4 August 2018.
