Skurup

Skurup Municipality (Skurups kommun) is a municipality in Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Skurup. It is considered part of Greater Malmö by Statistics Sweden. The present municipality was formed in 1971 when the market town (köping) of Skurup was merged with Rydsgård and Vemmenhög.

The Skurup Solar PV Park is a photovoltaic power station in Skurup, Skåne County, Sweden, located on the grounds of Näsbyholm Castle. It is the largest photovoltaic power station in Sweden.

The 2008 Skåne County earthquake occurred at 06.20am CET (05.20 UTC) on 16 December and affected the southern part of Sweden and eastern parts of Denmark. The epicenter was 5 km southwest of Sjöbo and 60 km east of Malmö. The earthquake was considered "moderately strong" with a moment magnitude calculated at 4.2–4.3 Mw . Strong shaking was reported widely in Sweden from Skåne to Östergötland, in Denmark, and in northern Poland. The Skåne region is known for extremely low seismic activity, with only three small earthquakes (each less than 2.8) detected between 1970 and 2008, and only 14 earthquakes since 1375. Roadways in Sweden and Denmark were reported with cracks but investigations did not determine if any were caused by the earthquake.

Idala was a locality situated in Lund Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 738 inhabitants in 2010. It was merged into Veberöd in 2015.

Via the Öresund Bridge the airport is located about 55 kilometres (34 mi) from central Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and 47 kilometres (29 mi) from Copenhagen Airport. The city of Malmö has roughly the same distance by road to Copenhagen Airport as to Malmö Airport.

Veberöd (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈvêːbɛˌrøːd] ) is a locality situated in Lund Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 5,500 inhabitants in 2014. It is near Vombsjön, the lake that supplies the water to Malmö.

Sturup Raceway is a motor racing circuit in Svedala, Sweden. It has been owned by the Danish Brask organisation since 2001. The circuit, by then called Sturupsbanan, opened in 1972 as a Rallycross venue. Later named Skånecrossbanan it was first asphalted to become a permanent road course in 1990. In 2004 and 2005 major work including a track extension from 1.100 km (0.684 mi) to 2.133 km (1.325 mi) with a new pit lane.Sturup held rounds of both the Swedish Touring Car Championship and Danish Touringcar Championship in 2008, but neither returned in 2009. The new Scandinavian Touring Car Championship returned to Sturup in 2012.

Klagstorp (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈklǎkstɔrp]) is a locality situated in Trelleborg Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, with 323 inhabitants in 2010.

Genarp is a locality situated in Lund Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 2,892 inhabitants in 2010. It is the southernmost urban area in Lund Municipality, located in Bara Hundred. Most of Genarp consists of residential areas with single-family homes. Genarp Church, which is located in the village, is the only church built in Skåne during the 16th century. Björnstorp Castle, Toppeladugård Castle and Häckeberga Castle are all located close to Genarp.

Everlöv Church (Swedish: Everlövs kyrka) is a medieval Lutheran church built in the Romanesque style. Located some 14 km (8.7 mi) southwest of Sjöbo in southern Sweden, it belongs to the Diocese of Lund. The church is noted for the many murals which decorate the vaulted ceilings in the nave and the chancel.
