The Hayes Arboretum is an arboretum of 330 acres (130 ha) located in Richmond, Indiana, United States. It is open free to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. It is the primary project of the Stanley W. Hayes Research Foundation, a private operating foundation. The Foundation owns a total of 466 acres (189 ha) of property in Wayne County, IN.

The Abram Gaar House and Farm or known as the Gaar Mansion is a wooden Second Empire-style farm home located in Richmond, Indiana, built in 1876 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home was built by industrialist Abram Gaar, president of Gaar-Scott and Company, manufacturers of steam engines and threshing machines from 1842 to 1911. Total construction cost of the home was $20,000 it took eight months to build. The house is situated on a rise overlooking the city of Richmond from the north. Gaar hired John A. Hasecoster, the area's leading architect of the day to design the house and his original plans drawn on linen sheets are on display at the house today.

The East Main Street–Glen Miller Park Historic District is a neighborhood of historic residential buildings and national historic district located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. The district encompasses 84 contributing buildings, 11 contributing structures, and 5 contributing objects along the National Road (US 40) and sometimes called Millionaire's Row. A portion of the district is recognized by the City of Richmond's Historic Preservation Commission as the Linden Hill conservation district. It developed between about 1830 and 1937 and includes representative examples of Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, Classical Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Henry and Alice Gennett House. Other notable contributing resources include elaborate iron bridges (c. 1895) and "Madonna of the Trail" statue located in Glen Miller Park, Isham Sedgwick House (1884-1885), John A. Hasecoster House (1895), William H. Campbell House (1905), Howard Campbell House (1909), E.G. Hill House (c. 1880, c. 1900), Crain Sanitarium (c. 1900), and Dr. T. Henry Davis House (c. 1902).Homes included in the district are those of Henry and Alice Gennett and architect John A. Hasecoster. Glen Miller Park was named for Colonel John Miller, the original owner of the land, and glen, the type of terrain found there.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Reeveston Place Historic District is a neighborhood of homes and national historic district located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was platted in 1911 on land formerly owned by the family of Mark Reeves and the district encompasses 218 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 2 contributing objects. The architecture is an eclectic mix of styles including Craftsman and English cottages, and impressive homes in the Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, Georgian, French, Spanish and Ranch styles. The original Reeves home in the Second Empire style survives as well.The proper borders of the Reeveston area are South B Street to the north, South 23rd Street to the east, South 16th Street to the west and South E Street to the south. However, the northeast corner of South E and South 16th is not a part of the original Reeves property - the house located there predates the Reeves home. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

It is the principal city of the Richmond micropolitan area. Situated largely within Wayne Township, its area includes a non-contiguous portion in nearby Boston Township, where Richmond Municipal Airport is located. Richmond is sometimes called the "cradle of recorded jazz" because the earliest jazz recordings and records were made at the studio of Gennett Records, a division of the Starr Piano Company. Gennett Records was the first to record such artists as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Jelly Roll Morton, Hoagy Carmichael, Lawrence Welk, and Gene Autry. The city has twice received the All-America City Award, most recently in 2009.

Henry and Alice Gennett House, also known as The Gennett Mansion, is a historic home located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1898, and is a large two-story, Colonial Revival style yellow ceramic brick dwelling, with small projecting porches or wings on each side. It sits on a limestone foundation and has a hipped roof. It features a two-story entrance portico with Ionic order columns surmounted by a semi-circular bay.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is located in the East Main Street-Glen Miller Park Historic District.
