The Hardenberg/Rhinelander Historic District is a small historic district in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. It was created by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on May 5, 1998, and consists of six brick, brownstone and terra cotta Northern Renaissance Revival rowhouses along Lexington Avenue between East 89th and 90th Streets, and one apartment building, referred to as "French Flats" at the time, on East 89th Street. All the buildings were constructed in 1888–1889. The name of the district derives from the architect, Henry J. Hardenbergh, and the owner and developer of the properties, the Estate of William C. Rhinelander. The Rhinelanders were a prominent family in the area.

The Dalton School, originally the Children's University School, is a private, coeducational college preparatory school in New York City and a member of both the Ivy Preparatory School League and the New York Interschool. The school is located in four buildings within the Upper East Side of Manhattan. In November 2021, it was announced that José Manuel De Jesús would replace Interim Head of School Ellen Stein as Head in July 2022. Former Head of School Jim Best resigned in April 2021 after 16 years at the school.

Trafalgar Hospital was a "145-bed private nonprofit institution" at 161 East 90th Street in Manhattan. By late 1978 the hospital, after facing regulatory and financial difficulties, had closed, and the 9-story 1926-built building was in the process of being converted to co-op apartments.The building, pre-Trafalgar, housed three other hospitals, one in the 1920s.By 1966 Trafalgar had replaced both coal and oil heating for gas: a one-time expenditure of $20,000 saved $12,000 per year.

Pan American Hospital, now defunct, opened in 1927 at 161 East 90th Street, Manhattan. Its intended purpose was "to serve the Latin-American people through their own Spanish and Portuguese-speaking doctors and nurses."It closed in 1930.

Beth David Hospital was one of a series of medical services that owned and operated the 1926-built 9-story building at 161 East Ninetieth Street in Manhattan. Their purchase of the building facilitated plans by the prior occupant, Manhattan General Hospital, to build an 11-story structure. By mid-1963 Beth David was closed.: pp. 782–783 

Doyle New York is an American auction house and appraiser of fine art, jewelry, furniture, decorations and other items. It offers approximately forty auctions each year at its premises on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The firm was founded in 1962 by the late William Doyle as William Doyle Antiques. In 1973, it was incorporated as William Doyle Galleries, Inc. Since 2001, it has been doing business as Doyle New York.In 2013 the company auctioned the furniture and art collection of Edward Koch, former mayor of New York City.One of the most popular auctions is the Dogs in Art & Sporting Art held annually in the same week as the famous Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

92nd Street Y (92Y) is a cultural and community center located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City, at the corner of East 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue. Its full name is 92nd Street Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association (YM-YWHA). It is not part of the YMCA.

Not to be confused with Sfoglia, the sheets from the fresh pasta is made of. Sfoglia is an Italian restaurant located in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. The restaurant has a total of ten tables and is located on the corner of 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue. It has a "rustic" and "trattorian" style according to The New Yorker. The name is for sfoglia, the sheets from which hand made Italian fresh pasta is made in the tradition of Emilia-Romagna.

The 86th Street station is an express station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 86th Street on the Upper East Side, it is served by the 4 and 6 trains at all times, the 5 train at all times except late nights, and the <6> train during weekdays in peak direction. The 86th Street station was constructed for the Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT) as part of the Dual Contracts. The station opened on July 17, 1918, as part of the IRT's Lexington Avenue and Jerome Avenue lines from Grand Central–42nd Street to 167th Street. The station's platforms were extended in the early 1960s. It was also renovated in the 1970s, in 1986, and from 2002 to 2004. The 86th Street station contains four side platforms and four tracks, split across two levels. Local trains use the upper level, which has two tracks and two side platforms, while express trains use the lower level, which are arranged in the same layout. The station was built with tile and mosaic decorations. The upper platforms contain exits to Lexington Avenue and 86th Street, as well as stairs to and from the lower platforms. Unlike at most express stations, the respective pairs of northbound and southbound platforms are not connected to each other within fare control. The station interior is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The St. Thomas More Church is part of a Roman Catholic church complex located on East 89th Street, off Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York City. The parish is under the authority of the Archdiocese of New York. Attached to the complex is the church (1870), a single-cell chapel (1879), a rectory (1880), and a parish house (1893). The church was built for the Protestant Episcopal Church as the Chapel of the Beloved Disciple in the Gothic Revival architectural style. Under various names, the church building has been used by three Christian denominations, including Episcopalians, Dutch Reformed, and Catholics. It is the second-oldest church on the Upper East Side.

The Brick Presbyterian Church is a large congregation at Park Avenue and 91st Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. A member of the Presbyterian Church, it is known for its Day School and music programs. It was founded as an offshoot of First Presbyterian Church. Its first building, in Lower Manhattan, opened in 1768. The Park Avenue location opened April 14, 1940.

Congregation Shaare Zedek Cemetery was a small Jewish cemetery located on the south side of East 88th Street between Fourth (now Park) and Madison Avenues on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, and owned by Congregation Shaare Zedek on the Lower East Side. It opened in about 1847 on a lot that was just over 50 feet wide by 100 feet deep, and was filled to capacity by 1859.In 1881, the New York City Board of Health granted permission for the congregation to disinter the bodies and move them to Bayside Cemetery in Queens, which Congregation Shaare Zedek also owned. However, the bodies were not moved at that time, and several years afterward, during construction of a building on one of the adjacent lots, the cemetery wall was damaged. The congregation then sought to move the bodies, but this was opposed by some former members of the congregation whose relatives were buried there. The congregation asked for a halakhic (religious) opinion from Rabbi Jacob Joseph, the chief rabbi of New York City. He replied that while the removal of bodies that might have been disturbed by the damaged wall was permitted, it was against Jewish law to disturb the other bodies.At some time afterward, the bodies were moved, and the land was deeded to a woman named Mary Ehrman in 1899.
