The Castle Inn is a historic pub in Skipton, a town in North Yorkshire, in England. The pub was built in the early 19th century, on Mill Bridge, by Skipton Castle. The building was grade II listed in 1978. The pub has been refurbished on several occasions, including in 2015 at a cost of £200,000. In 2014, it was named Yorkshire's Top Pub in the White Rose Awards. A local legend states that a ghost of an old woman haunts the building. The pub is built of stone, with eaves modillions and a slate roof. It has three storeys and three bays. The central doorway has a round-arched head, a semicircular fanlight with Gothic glazing, and a pediment on simple consoles. The windows are sashes, and at the rear is a round-arched stair window. Recessed to the right is the former stable wing, lower, whitewashed, and with two storeys. It contains a barn door, a doorway with a fanlight and a modern window, and on the upper floor are two sash windows and a loft door.

Holy Trinity Church is in High Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire, England. Medieval in origin, the church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The older active Anglican parish church in the town, it is located in the deanery of Skipton, the archdeaconry of Craven and the Diocese of Leeds. Its benefice is united with that of a church in a neighbouring village: St Augustine, Draughton.

The Black Horse is a historic pub in Skipton, a town in North Yorkshire, in England. It is uncertain when the building was constructed, with a local tradition claiming that it was the royal mews of Richard III of England in the 1480s. The building has a stone inscribed "1676", and although this has been moved from its original location, some of the building appears to be of this date. In the early 19th century, the pub was an important coaching inn, served by coaches to Leeds and to Kendal. The building was grade II listed in 1978. The building was refurbished in 2018 at a cost of £400,000, at which time it was owned by the Stonegate Pub Company. The pub is built of stuccoed stone, and has three storeys and three bays. On the front are two bay windows flanking a doorway. To the left is a segmental arch leading to the yard, with a smaller arch and a mounting block. The upper floors have sash windows and a datestone.

The Water Street Wesleyan Methodist Church is a closed church in Skipton, a town in North Yorkshire, in England. The first Methodist church in Skipton is what is now The Old Chapel. By the 1860s the Wesleyan Methodist Church congregation had grown, and a larger building was needed. They initially planned to use a site in Wesley Place, but ultimately picked a location on Water Street. It was built between 1864 and 1865, at a cost of around £4,000, and an organ was installed in 1867. The church closed in 1952, the congregation moving to the Gargrave Road Methodist Church. The building was converted into offices for the Education Department of North Yorkshire County Council, which remained in the property until 2011, since when it has accommodated other businesses. The building has been grade II listed since 1978. The former chapel is built of stone, with rusticated quoins, sill bands, a cornice and a central dentilled pediment. There are two storeys, the front has five bays, and contains giant Ionic columns and pilasters. The outer bays contain segmental-arched windows on the ground floor. The other openings, including the central doorway, have moulded round arches with imposts and keystones. Along the sides are six bays with segmental-arched windows on the ground floor and round-arched windows above.

Skipton (also known as Skipton-in-Craven) is a market town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. Historically in the East Division of Staincliffe Wapentake in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is on the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to the south of the Yorkshire Dales. It is situated 27 miles (43 km) north-west of Leeds and 38 miles (61 km) west of York. At the 2011 Census, the population was 14,623.The town was listed in the 2018 Sunday Times report on Best Places to Live in northern England.

The Red Lion is a historic pub in Skipton, a town in North Yorkshire, in England. The building was probably constructed around 1500, perhaps on the site of the leper hospital of St Mary Magdalene. It was originally a hall house, but probably in the 17th century, a new front range was added, and a ceiling was installed in the hall. The building served as a farmhouse until World War I, but from at least 1684 it also accommodated a pub named the "Red Lion". The front of the southern end was rebuilt in the 18th century, and the north end in the 19th century, with rear extensions also constructed around these dates. The building was grade II listed in 1978. The building is constructed of gritstone with sandstone dressings and a stone flag roof. It has two storeys and a C-shaped plan, with a front range and two rear wings. The front range has five bays, the left two bays higher and with paired eaves corbels and windows with wedge lintels. The right three bays contain a doorway with three-light mullioned windows to the left and single-light windows to the right. The rear wings are gabled, and have quoins. In the yard are granite setts and river cobbles, and a well with a circular head. Inside, three 17th-century fireplaces survive, one with the date 1681 above, while the first floor has some timber framing. The cellar has stone steps, a brick vault, flagstone floors, and wall niches with stone shelves.

Craven Museum & Gallery is a museum located in the town of Skipton, North Yorkshire, England, in Skipton Town Hall. The museum holds a collection of local artefacts that depict life in Craven from the prehistoric times to the modern day. On 21 June 2021, the museum reopened after a National Lottery Heritage Funded redevelopment project.

The Thanet Canal, also known as the Springs Branch, is a short branch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, in North Yorkshire, England. It leaves the main canal in Skipton, and runs to some loading wharfs near Skipton Castle, which were used to load limestone from local quarries into boats for onward shipment. It was opened in 1773, and extended in 1794.

St Stephen's Church is a Roman Catholic Parish church in Skipton, North Yorkshire, England. It is situated next to Ermysted's Grammar School close to the town centre. It was built in 1836 and was founded by the Tempest family and originally administered by the Society of Jesus. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Cock & Bottle is a historic pub in Skipton, a town in North Yorkshire, in England. A building on the site, on Swadford Street, was first recorded in 1689, and Nikolaus Pevsner claims a 17th-century date for the front part of the building. The rear section of the pub has a plaque dated 1729, and the "Cock & Bottle" pub was first recorded in 1731. The front of the building was redesigned in a neo-Gothic style in the 19th century. In the 1980s, the small rooms on the ground floor were opened out to form a single, large, bar area. The pub has been grade II listed since 1978. The building is constructed of painted stone with a stone flag roof. It has three low storeys and two bays. The ground floor contains a doorway and casement windows, and on the middle floor are two oriel windows with chamfered mullions and a cornice on concave-arched brackets. The top floor is gabled and contains three-light mullioned windows, the middle lights higher and arched. At the rear is a long two-storey wing with sash windows.
