The Yeshiva of Nitra is a private Rabbinical college, or yeshiva, located in Brooklyn, New York; it has campuses in Chester and Mount Kisco, New York. Its origins lie in the Yeshiva of Nitra, Slovakia, established in 1907. The Yeshiva was the last surviving yeshiva in occupied Europe during World War II. The Rosh Yeshiva at that date was Rabbi Shmuel Dovid Ungar. His son, Rabbi Sholom Moshe Ungar, and son-in-law, Rabbi Michael Dov Weissmandl, survived the war (the latter is known for leading efforts to save the Jews of Slovakia and Hungary). They re-established the Yeshiva in the US in 1946, in Somerville, New Jersey, gathering surviving students from the original Nitra Yeshiva. It grants Bachelor's degrees and first professional degrees only. Its president is Alexander Fischer. It is accredited by the Association of Advanced Rabbinical and Talmudic Schools.

The Marcy Avenue station is a station on the BMT Jamaica Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Marcy Avenue and Broadway in Brooklyn, it is served by the J train at all times, the M train at all times except late nights, and the Z train during rush hours in the peak direction.

Duff's Brooklyn is a heavy metal bar located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (168 Marcy Avenue, between South 5th and Broadway). Duff's initially opened as "Bellevue Bar" in the Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan in 1999, before moving to Brooklyn in 2004 with a name change to Duff's Brooklyn.The original Brooklyn location was at 28 North 3rd Street, where the bar resided from December 2004 to December 2008. Due to the rapid gentrification of area, the bar was forced relocate in December 2008. The bar reopened in December 2008 on Williamsburg's South Side (168 Marcy Avenue), in a space four times larger than the original bar. Duff's is frequented by Tri-state metalheads and rock n' rollers, and is a stop off for many heavy metal bands passing through New York City on tours. Some visitors of note have been Rob Zombie, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Kerry King of Slayer, Celtic Frost, Exodus, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Suffocation, The Sword, Watain, 1349 and many others.The bar has also hosted many official CD and DVD release parties for local and global acts such as Black Label Society, Lamb of God, Mudvayne, Pantera, Queensryche, Slayer, Suffocation, and Type O Negative. The bar's unique decor has also attracted many photo shoots and has made it a desirable spot to film in for independent filmmakers, as well as the better known MTV, MTV2 (including The Headbanger's Ball 20th Anniversary show), VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show", Fuse TV, and Burning Angel.

Williamsburg is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, bordered by Greenpoint to the north; Bedford–Stuyvesant to the south; Bushwick and East Williamsburg to the east; and the East River to the west. As of the 2020 United States census, the neighborhood's population is 151,308.Since the late 1990s, Williamsburg has undergone significant gentrification characterized by a contemporary art scene, hipster culture, and vibrant nightlife that has projected its image internationally as a "Little Berlin." Politically, it is represented by the New York City Council's 33rd District, which represents the western and southern parts of the neighborhood, and the 34th District, which represents the eastern part.It was an independent city until 1855 when it was annexed by Brooklyn; at that time the spelling was changed from Williamsburgh (with an "h") to Williamsburg.

The Williamsburg Bridge Plaza, sometimes called Washington Plaza or the Williamsburg Bridge Transit Center, is a major bus terminal and former trolley terminal located at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, one block west of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278). It is situated by the boundaries of Broadway, Havemeyer Street, Roebling Street, and South 5th Street, south of the LaGuardia Playground. It contains five bus lanes, and serves as a terminal for numerous MTA New York City Transit Authority bus routes of Brooklyn and Queens that start and end their runs there. This bus terminal is near the Marcy Avenue subway station on the BMT Jamaica Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of Marcy Avenue and Broadway, which is served by the J, M, and Z​ trains.The bus terminal is one of three plazas at the foot of the bridge that constitute Washington Plaza, along with Continental Army Plaza and LaGuardia Playground across South 5th Street, which are run by the Parks Department.

La Iglesia Pentecostal La Luz del Mundo / Light of the World Church Pentecostal Church is an Assemblies of God Pentecostal church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City, located at 179 South 9th Street, occupying the historic 19th-century former New England Congregational Church since 1955. The former New England Congregational Church was a Congregational Church built between 1852 and 1853 in the Italianate-style to designs by Thomas Little. It is a brick building faced in brownstone with wood and metal trim. Henry Ward Beecher gave the keynote address at the cornerstone laying and his younger brother Thomas K. Beecher was the guiding spirit for the young congregation. The adjacent rectory was built in 1868.At some point, the Congregational congregation sold the church and it was operating as a Lutheran church in the mid 20th century. The Lutherans sold the church in 1955 to Iglesia Pentecostal La Luz del Mundo / Light of the World Church Pentecostal Church (Assemblies of God Pentecostal). It was landmark protected in 1981. It was restored between 1988 and 1993, and as of 2008 was still in use. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Congregation Beth Jacob Ohev Sholom (also known as "Congregation Beth Jacob Ohev Shalom") ("House of Jacob Lover of Peace") is an Orthodox synagogue located at 284 Rodney Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. It is the oldest Orthodox congregation on Long Island (including Brooklyn and Queens), and one of the last remaining non-Hasidic Jewish institutions in Williamsburg.The congregation was formed in 1869 by German Jews as an Orthodox breakaway from an existing Reform congregation. It constructed its first building on Keap Street in 1870. In 1904 it merged with Chevra Ansche Sholom, and took the name Congregation Beth Jacob Anshe Sholom. The following year it constructed a new building at 274–276 South Third Street, designed by George F. Pelham.The congregation's building was expropriated and demolished to make way for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in the 1950s. It combined with another congregation in a similar situation, and, as Congregation Beth Jacob Ohev Sholom, constructed a new building at 284 Rodney Street, just south of Broadway, in 1957.Joshua Fishman became rabbi in 1971. With changing demographics, attendance at services, which had been 700 in the 1970s, fell to two dozen by 2010.

El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice is an alternative public high school in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City. In 1998 it had a mostly Hispanic student body. As of 2012 Wanda Vazquez is the principal.

Congregation Yetev Lev D'Satmar (Yiddish: קהל יטב לב ד'סאטמאר) is a large Satmar Hasidic synagogue located at Rodney Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It was constructed to replace the previous main Satmar synagogue on Bedford Avenue, which could no longer accommodate its growing membership. It is now the main synagogue for followers of Zalman Teitelbaum, son of the deceased Satmar rebbe Moshe Teitelbaum. The monument of the Sigeter Rebbe, Yekusiel Yehuda Teitelbaum (1808–1883), spells Yetev with two yuds, whereas the Congregation Yetev Lev D'Satmar on Rodney Street spells Yetev with only one.

Driggs Avenue was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line in Brooklyn, New York City. This station was opened on June 25, 1888 as the terminal of the Broadway elevated. When the line was extended to Broadway Ferry on July 14, 1888, this ceased to be the terminal. Mainline BMT Jamaica Line service began providing direct service to Manhattan via the Williamsburg Bridge after 1908. The station finally closed on July 3, 1916, but the segment of the line remained dormant throughout the 1920s and 1930s before being demolished.This elevated station had two tracks and two side platforms.

Peter Luger Steak House is a steakhouse located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York City, with a second location in Great Neck, New York, on Long Island. It was named to the James Beard Foundation's list of "America's Classics" in 2002 and is the third oldest operating steakhouse in New York City, after Keens and Old Homestead Steakhouse. On January 10 2022, Peter Luger's and Caesar's Palace announced the opening of a third location in Ceasar's Palace Las Vegas, in the location formerly occupied by Rao's. The Brooklyn location is known for its long wooden bar, and the "dining rooms have a Teutonic air, with exposed wooden beams, burnished oak wainscoting, brass chandeliers and weathered beer-hall tables".In 2019, New York Times restaurant critic Pete Wells gave the restaurant a scathing, zero-star review, a decline from Frank Bruni's 2007 two-star review, a three-star review in 1995 by Ruth Reichl, and a four-star review in 1968 by Craig Claiborne.

Satmar Bikur Cholim, also known as Bikur Cholim D'Satmar or Ladies Bikur Cholim D'Satmar, is a New York-based non-profit organization which aids Jewish people in New York hospitals. According to their website, they deliver 2,000 meals to hospital patients every week.
