MacEwan station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station on the Metro Line in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is located across from MacEwan University on 105 Avenue between 103 and 104 Street. The station opened on September 6, 2015.

Rogers Place is a multi-use indoor arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Construction started in March 2014, and the building officially opened on September 8, 2016. The arena has a seating capacity of 18,500 as a hockey venue and 20,734 as a concert venue.It replaced Northlands Coliseum (opened 1974) as the home of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers and the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings. The arena is located at the block between 101 and 104 Streets and 104 and 105 Avenues. Public transit access to the arena is provided by the Edmonton Light Rail Transit system (MacEwan station on the Metro Line) and Edmonton Transit Service bus.

The Telephone Historical Centre was a telecommunications museum located in Edmonton, Alberta dedicated to preserving the history of the telephone in Edmonton. Founded by a group of retired ED TEL employees, the Telephone Historical Centre was opened on December 3, 1987, in a former telephone exchange building in Old Strathcona. In 2004, it moved to its final location in the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre in Central Edmonton. The Telephone Historical Centre provided both group and individual tours and, as a hands-on museum, allows for visitors to interact with the artifacts. In April 2019, the Edmonton Telephone Historical Centre Foundation voted to dissolve, citing relevancy, financial issues, structural problems and succession planning as the reasons for closing.

Central McDougall is a largely residential neighbourhood in the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada located immediately north of the downtown core. Located within the neighbourhood are the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre, the Victoria School of the Arts, and the administrative offices of the Edmonton Public Schools system. Kingsway Mall is located immediately to the north of Central McDougall in the neighbourhood of Spruce Avenue, as is the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and the Norwood Extended Care Centre North. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by 111 Avenue, on the south by 105 Avenue, on the east by 101 Street and on the west by 109 Street. Running through Central McDougall is Kingsway Avenue. The community is represented on the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues by the Central McDougall Community League, established in 1923.

Boyle Street Education Centre (BSEC) is a non-profit public charter high school in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Boyle Street Education Centre opened as a charter school in September 1996. The Education Centre grew out of six years of Boyle Street Co-op experience providing an alternative education program. The students range in age from fourteen to nineteen years and have a history of not succeeding in mainstream education programs. Many of the students at the school have experienced trauma through their early years and this has affected their success in school. The Boyle Street Education Centre offer programs that engage high risk and out-of-school youth in the learning process and provide each student an opportunity for the successful attainment of the learning expectations as established by Alberta Learning. Continuous enrollment has been identified by students trying to return to school as an important feature of the Education Centre. The teacher/student ratio is low, and students work on independent program plans appropriate to their abilities and interests. The JW Marriott Edmonton Ice District & Residences is a mixed-use skyscraper in Edmonton, Alberta as part of the downtown Ice District. It is a combination of a JW Marriott hotel in the lower section, with residential condos named Legends Private Residences in the upper section. Construction began in November 2014 and the hotel opened on 1 August 2019. The tower became the tallest building in Edmonton on 3 November 2017 and held that status until it was surpassed by the Stantec Tower in May 2018, en route to topping out its 56th floor at its final height of 192 metres (630 ft) on 20 March 2018.The hotel is located on the 1st through 22nd floors, and has 346 rooms, 2,300 square metres (25,000 sq ft) of conference hall space and a 930 square metres (10,000 sq ft) ballroom. Located from the 23rd through 54th floors is the Legends Private Residences, with high-end condominiums to buy or rent. The building has a total of 55 floors, at a height of 192.95 m (633.0 ft). The tower topped out in March 2018 and reached its final design height on May 8, 2018. Originally the hotel was going to be a Delta hotel, but Marriott closed the purchase deadline first. It is the third JW Marriott hotel in Canada, after the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa in the District Municipality of Muskoka in Ontario, and the JW Marriott Parq in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Ice District is a $2.5 billion mixed-use sports and entertainment district being developed on 10 hectares (25 acres) of land in Downtown Edmonton and a portion of the neighbourhood of Central McDougall. Its main attraction is Rogers Place, the home arena of the Edmonton Oilers professional ice hockey team. When completed the area will be Canada's largest mixed-use and entertainment district. The developers of the district are the Katz Group and the ONE Development Group. On July 13, 2015, it was announced that the area of the city surrounding the arena from 101 and 104 Street to 103 and 106 Avenue would be referred to as "Ice District" – a name created by Daryl Katz.

Stantec Tower is a 66-storey above and 4 underground, 250.8 m (823 ft) mixed-use skyscraper in Ice District in the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. On May 23, 2018, it reached a construction height of 197 m (646.3 ft) and surpassed the JW Marriott Edmonton Ice District & Residences, becoming the tallest building in Edmonton and one of the largest mixed-use projects in Canada. The office area of the tower opened on September 26, 2018, and the residential portion opened in 2019.At 250.9 m (823.2 ft) tall, the Stantec Tower is the 10th-tallest building in Canada, and the tallest in Canada outside Toronto. The 66-storey tower consists of retail space, offices, and 454 residential units. It houses the headquarters of Stantec and is located close to Rogers Place, home of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, and near the centre of Ice District directly northwest of Downtown Edmonton.

MacEwan University is a public undergraduate university located in the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Formerly a two-year college, in 2009, it became Alberta's sixth university. MacEwan University offers ten baccalaureate degrees, one applied degree and 43 diploma and certificate programs. In addition, MacEwan University serves as the largest transfer-in post-secondary institution in Alberta. The university's four faculties and two schools offer programming in fine arts and communications, health and community studies, liberal arts and sciences, engineering, physical education, nursing, and business. The university also offers non-credit professional and personal development courses on a part-time basis, in addition to programming for university preparation and English-as-a-Second-Language courses. Its student body is more than 60% female, with more than 12,000 full-time students in credit programs and just over 19,000 students across all credit- and non-credit programs.

Edmonton Public Schools (legally Edmonton School Division) is the largest public school division in Edmonton, the second largest in Alberta, and the sixth largest in Canada. The division offers a variety of alternative and special needs programs, and many are offered in multiple locations to improve accessibility for students. As a public school division, Edmonton Public Schools accepts all students who meet age and residency requirements set out in provincial legislation.

Edmonton Tower, is a 29-storey 129.84-metre (426.0 ft) tall, office building in the Ice District area of Edmonton, Alberta. It opened in mid-December 2016. In total it has 3,700 square metres (40,000 sq ft) of retail space, and over 48,000 square metres (520,000 sq ft) of office lease-able area. It is Edmonton's eighth tallest building.
