Anderson station (New York Central Railroad)

Anderson Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. The district dates from c. 1887-1955 and encompasses 32 contributing buildings in the central business district of Anderson. Despite some loss of integrity due to demolition and alteration, the district still includes a significant collection of historic and architecturally distinguished commercial buildings. Aside from the usual historic commercial impact of similar districts, this district includes several properties that illustrate Anderson's transportation heritage. Included in the district or nearby are the following individual sites on the National Register of Historic Places: Paramount Theatre, Tower Hotel, Anderson Bank Building, Gruenewald House, and The Anderson Center for the Arts. Additional notable or interesting buildings include the Union Building, the State Theater, the Central Christian Church, the Anderson YMCA, the old post office and the Big Four.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Anderson Paramount Theatre (now known as The Paramount Theatre Centre & Ballroom) is a historic movie theater located in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. It opened on August 20, 1929, and at the time was part of the Publix Chain of theaters, owned by Paramount Pictures (hence the theater's name). The theater was designed by the famous movie theater architect, John Eberson. The Paramount is an atmospheric theater (an architectural style that gave the appearance of an open star-filled sky) and is one of twelve atmospheric theaters left standing in the United States and Canada. The auditorium was decorated in the style of a Spanish village.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.The theater has been extensively restored and reopened in 1995 as the Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom. The theater includes its original Page theater organ, now restored. A contest for "Best Decorated Christmas Tree" is held in the theater every Christmas.

The Tower Hotel is a historic hotel building located on the northeast corner of Eleventh and Jackson Streets in downtown Anderson, Indiana, United States.

The Anderson Bank Building is a historic bank building located at Anderson, Indiana in the United States. It was built for the Anderson Banking Company in 1927. The bank building is located at 931 Meridan Street. The Anderson Banking Company began business on January 30, 1890. It was the only bank in Anderson to survive the Great Depression without closing. In 1985, the bank was acquired by Merchants National Corporation of Indianapolis. In 1991 Merchants National Corporation was acquired by National City Bank. National City Bank still operates a branch in the Anderson Bank Building. The art deco details at the exterior street level and in the main banking lobby have been somewhat obliterated due to water damage. The building's main architectural interest lies in the still existent art deco detailing in the building's elevator lobby and upper floors.

The Anderson Museum of Art (previously known as the Anderson Center for the Arts) is located in downtown Anderson, Indiana at 32 West 10th Street in the former Carnegie Library building built partly in honor of educator and railroad executive John Byers Anderson. The building, as Carnegie Public Library, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Gruenewald House is a historic home located at 626 Main Street in downtown Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. This three story Italianate / Second Empire style house was built in 1860. The house was the home of Martin Gruenewald, a local businessman. The home is decorated with turn of the century furnishings. The house was built in two parts. The back was built in 1860 with the front added in 1873 by Moses Cherry. Martin Gruenewald purchased the house shortly thereafter and resided there for 50 years. The Gruenewald House is operated as a house museum.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is located in the Anderson Downtown Historic District.

Anderson is a city in Madison County, Indiana, United States, and the county seat of Madison County. The population was 54,788 at the 2020 census. It is named after Chief William Anderson. The city is the headquarters of the Church of God (Anderson) and its Anderson University. Highlights of the city include the historic Paramount Theatre and the Gruenewald House.

The West Eighth Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. This District consists of homes, churches, parks, commercial and public buildings, that were constructed during the last decade of the nineteenth century and first decade of the twentieth century. There are approximately 200 structures in this District in styles that represent cottages of various styles, Queen Anne styles, Free Classic, Colonial Revival styles and a good collection of notable Italianate homes. Most of these homes were constructed during the gas boom in the late 1880s, and were the homes to Anderson's business, civic and governmental leaders.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Liberty Christian School is a private Christian school located in Anderson, Indiana. Liberty Christian School is a private, non-denominational Christian school serving pre-school through 12th grade. Founded in 1976, Liberty has two campuses and a self-electing board governs the school. Liberty Christian is accredited by the Association for Christian Schools International (ACSI) and holds memberships with School Choice Indiana and the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).

Anderson University is a private Christian university in Anderson, Indiana. It is affiliated with the Church of God. The university offers more than 60 undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs in business, music, and theology.

Anderson Township is one of fourteen townships in Madison County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 56,436 and it contained 28,001 housing units. Aside from the exclaves of Country Club Heights, Woodlawn Heights and River Forest and the town of Edgewood, the entire township is within the city limits of Anderson.

West Central Historic District is a national historic district located at Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. Structures were constructed from the late 19th century to well into the first half of the 20th century. This long span of history was responsible for the great variety of styles found throughout the District. There are approximately 200 structures within this District which represent Italianate, Bungalow, Dutch Colonial, American Foursquare, and Shingle Styles.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
