Ludlow was a rural district in Shropshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 from the Ludlow rural sanitary district. It was enlarged in 1934 under a County Review Order by taking in the disbanded Burford Rural District and parts of the Church Stretton Rural District and Cleobury Mortimer Rural District. Church Stretton, formerly an urban district was added to the district in 1966. Then in 1967 it absorbed the municipal borough of Ludlow, which became a rural borough within the rural district.The district (and rural borough of Ludlow) was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, and was merged to form part of the South Shropshire district.

St Laurence's Church, Ludlow, is a Church of England parish church in Ludlow, Shropshire, England. It is a grade I listed building.The church is a member of the Greater Churches Group and is the largest parish church in Shropshire. It was one of only 18 churches given a five-star rating in England's Thousand Greatest Churches by Simon Jenkins (1999) and is described as the "cathedral of the Marches". It is the 13th most popular free visitor attraction in the West Midlands, with 70,000 visitors per year.

The Bull Hotel is a historic inn in Ludlow, at 14 Bull Ring. The public house is described as "the best surviving medieval inn in Ludlow" and pre-dates the Feathers Hotel opposite. It is a Grade II listed building. Much of the current three-storey building dates to the 16th century, but the painted stucco front date from the 18th century and the roof tiles from the 20th century.During the Ludlow Festival in the summer, the hotel hosts the Fringe Festival, featuring live jazz music and plays in the courtyard of the hotel.

The Feathers Hotel is a historic inn in Ludlow, Shropshire. Its imposing half-timbered frontage was constructed in 1619, over an earlier core, for a local lawyer, Rees Jones. John Newman describes the hotel as a "prodigy" of Tudor architecture and it is noted for its Jacobean furnishings. It is a Grade I listed building, listed on 15 April 1954, and is one of approximately 500 listed buildings in Ludlow, but one of its best known.

Ludlow Church of England School is a coeducational Church of England secondary school located in Ludlow, Shropshire, England. The school achieved the Technology College specialisation in 2003, and later also became a Sports College, holding the Sportsmark award.The 2006 Ofsted report called it "a happy school which is improving well," and rated the progress of special education students as "exceptional". It was judged Good in its 2015 inspection. In 2008 the school achieved 56% of students with 5 A*-C grades (including English and maths) on their GCSEs.Previously a voluntary controlled school administered by Shropshire Council, in April 2017 Ludlow Church of England School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Diocese of Hereford Academy Trust.

Ludlow () is a market town and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is located 28 miles (45 km) south of Shrewsbury and 23 miles (37 km) north of Hereford, on the A49 road which bypasses the town. The town is near the confluence of the rivers Corve and Teme. The oldest part is the medieval walled town, founded in the late 11th century after the Norman conquest of England. It is centred on a small hill which lies on the eastern bank of a bend of the River Teme. Situated on this hill are Ludlow Castle and the parish church, St Laurence's, the largest in the county. From there the streets slope downward to the rivers Corve and Teme, to the north and south respectively. The town is in a sheltered spot beneath Mortimer Forest and the Clee Hills, which are clearly visible from the town.Ludlow has nearly 500 listed buildings, including examples of medieval and Tudor-style half-timbered buildings. The town was described by Sir John Betjeman as "probably the loveliest town in England".
