Monument to the Fallen, Reggio Emilia

The Teatro Municipale (also since the 1980s called the Teatro Municipale Valli due to being named after the actor Romolo Valli) is a theatre in Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy. Following the destruction by fire of the 1741 Teatro Cittadella in April 1851, the new theatre was designed by the architect Cesare Costa and constructed in the neoclassical style between 1852 and 1857. Its inauguration took place on 21 April 1857 with the performance of the Vittor Pisani by local composer Achille Peri. It is the pre-eminent public theatre of the city and is located in its historical centre next to the public park and near the smaller and more recent theatre Teatro Ariosto. It sponsors concerts, operas and ballet performance, while the adjacent, smaller, and more recently built Teatro Ariosto serves a more intimate stage for dramatic performances. The theatre has a rectangular base that measures 80 x 43.60 meters and covers an area of 3,763 square meters. The audience capacity is 1150 people. It has 56 dressing rooms for the artists and 16 anterooms. The concert hall is elliptical and has 106 boxes placed on four tiers plus a regal box and a gallery. The frescoes on the ceiling are of the local artist Domenico Pellizzi. The curtain was painted by Alfonso Chierici. The outside is composed by 12 Tuscan columns made of granite on the ground floor while on the first floor it has 13 windows spaced by Ionic columns. On top of the building there are statues made by sculptors Prudenzio Piccioli, Ilario Bedotti, Giovanni Chierici, Antonio Ilarioli, Attilio Rabaglia.

The Synagogue of Reggio Emilia or the Sinagoga di Reggio Emilia is located on the Via dell'Aquila of Reggio Emilia, in the region of Emilia Romagna, in Italy. living in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany in 1848.

The Monument to the Concordi Family is a monumental tomb likely erected presumably in the third quarter of the first century at a necropolis near the present town of Brescello near the ancient Roman town of Brixellum. Discovered in 1929, it was re-erected a year later in the Public Garden in central Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The Monument to Antonio Fontanesi is located the east side of the Parco del Popolo (Giardini Pubblici) in central Reggio Emilia, region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The monument is located near Viale Leopoldo Nobili. In the park, there is a distinct Bust of Antonio Fontanesi, sculpted by Marino Mazzacurati and donated to the city in 1937 by Anna e Luigi Parmeggiani. In the south sector of central Reggio Emilia, there is also a piazza Antonio Fontanesi.

The Palazzo Busetti or Bussetti, is a Baroque-style palace with a main facade located on Piazza del Monte 6, but structures connected with the palace are flanked by the via Francesco Crispi and Don Giuseppe Andreoli, in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The main palace facade faces the side of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and the Palazzo del Monte di Pieta. The original palace was begun in 1657 by Count Ferdinando Busetti, who had gained a fortune in the commerce of silk. Construction continued until 1574, but by 1699, the Busetti family, lacking heirs, the property under guidance of an endowment was put to various uses. In 1699, it was occupied by the Bishop's Seminary, and soon by the Jesuit college. A small theater and church were added. From 1752 to 1783, the building housed offices and classrooms for the University of Reggio Emilia, before again housing the Jesuits. In 1921, after much refurbishment, the palace was subdivided into various businesses, including a celebrated Ristorante-caffè Busetti, the offices for the newspaper L’Italia Centrale, and offices of the Banca Commerciale Italiana. In 1939–1950, the theater and convent were rebuilt for alternate uses. The portico was placed at an alternative facade. The buildings now house boutique stores, offices, and apartments.

The Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo (Palace of the Captain of the People) is a Gothic-style civic building located facing the piazza del Monte in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The structure was erected in 1280 as the home and office of the town captain, who was required to be a foreigner representing the Lords of the Duchy. This position was abrogated in 1326. The building was refurbished in 1432. In 1515 the building housed the Ospizio del Cappello Rosso or Red Hat Inn. In 1913 the Inn was modernized and became the Posta Hotel. It still houses a hotel. In 1920–1929, a further refurbishment attempted to restore the medieval appearance of the building. Inside is the large meeting hall (Sala dei Difensori) in which city council meetings were held.

San Giovannino, or the Roman Catholic church of San Giovanni Evangelista is a religious building is located on the narrow Piazzetta San Giovanni in the historic center of Reggio Emilia, region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. The church is best known for the frescoes by early Baroque painters.

The Diocese of Reggio Emilia–Guastalla (Latin: Dioecesis Regiensis in Aemilia–Guastallensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It has existed in its current form since 1986. In that year the historical Diocese of Reggio Emilia was united with the Diocese of Guastalla. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Modena–Nonantola.Originally the diocese was part of the ecclesiastical province of Milan, then it was suffragan to the Archbishop of Ravenna. Because of the schism of the Antipope Clement III, Pope Paschal II released the dioceses of Emilia, including Reggio, from obedience to the church of Ravenna, and made them directly subject to the Holy See (Rome), but twelve years later Pope Gelasius II restored the previous status. In 1582 the diocese of Bologna was raised to the status of a metropolitan archbishopric. Reggio was made a suffragan of the archdiocese of Bologna, by Pope Gregory XIII in the bull Universi orbis of 10 December 1582. Modena was raised to the status of an archdiocese and its bishop to the status of a Metropolitan Archbishop by Pope Pius IX in his bull of 22 August 1855, entitled Vel ab antiquis. Reggio became one of its suffragans.

The Sala del Tricolore (lit. 'Room of the Tricolor'), formerly the Patriotic Hall, is an historical hall that currently serves as the council chamber of the comune (municipality) of Reggio Emilia, northern Italy. It was designed by the architect Lodovico Bolognini as the archive of the ducal family of Este. In the Sala del Tricolore, on 7 January 1797, the flag of Italy (also known as "the Tricolor") was born, hence the name of the hall. Adjacent to the room is the Tricolour Flag Museum, whose collection is made up of relics related to the Italian flag.

Reggio nell'Emilia (Emilian: Rèz; Latin: Regium Lepidi), usually referred to as Reggio Emilia, or simply Reggio by its inhabitants, and known until 1861 as Reggio di Lombardia, is a city in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region. It has about 171,944 inhabitants and is the main comune (municipality) of the Province of Reggio Emilia. The inhabitants of Reggio nell'Emilia are called Reggiani, while the inhabitants of Reggio di Calabria, in the southwest of the country, are called Reggini. The old town has a hexagonal form, which derives from the ancient walls, and the main buildings are from the 16th–17th centuries. The commune's territory lies entirely on a plain, crossed by the Crostolo stream.

Reggio Emilia Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Reggio Emilia; Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral (and one of the three main religious buildings) in Reggio Emilia (Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy). The dedication is to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Formerly the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Reggio Emilia, it has been since 1986 that of the Diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla.
