Hare on Ball and Claw is a 1989–1990 bronze sculpture by Barry Flanagan, installed outside the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The sculpture, installed in 1997, measures approximately 132 x 48 x 36 inches and rests on a base that measures approximately 32 x 43 x 45.5 in.

Two Lines Up Excentric Variation VI is a 1977 stainless steel sculpture by George Rickey, installed outside the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The abstract, kinetic sculpture was donated by the family of the Albert Fullerton Miller.

Wasahaban is a 1978 painted aluminum sculpture by Robert Murray, installed outside the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The abstract artwork, painted blue-green, is 7 ft., 6 in. tall and 6 ft. wide. It was fabricated by Lippincott, Inc., and acquired by the museum in 1979 with funds provided by the Hattie W. and Robert Lazarus Fund of The Columbus Foundation, as well as the National Endowment for the Arts.

Intermediate Model for the Arch is a 1975 painted steel sculpture by Alexander Calder, installed in a courtyard outside the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The artwork measures 144 in. x 129 in. x 101 in. and was purchased by the Derby Fund. The abstract black sculpture is 11 feet (3.4 m) tall.

The Family of Man: Figure 2, Ancestor II, or simply Ancestor II, is a 1970 bronze sculpture by Barbara Hepworth, installed outside the Columbus Museum of Art, in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The approximately 8-foot (2.4 m) sculpture has four cubes stacked on top of one another. The Smithsonian Institution describes the artwork as abstract and allegorical, representing family. It was gifted by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company to commemorate the museum's 125th anniversary.

The Encova Building (formerly known as the Motorists Mutual Building) is a 286 ft (87m) tall skyscraper located at 471 East Broad Street Columbus, Ohio. It was completed in 1973 and was designed by Brubaker/Brandt and Maddox NBD. It is the 18th tallest building in Columbus, has 21 floors, and 6 elevators. The building initially served as the headquarters for the Motorists Mutual Insurance Group, a subsidiary of the larger insurance group BrickStreet; in 2019, BrickStreet changed its name to Encova, and as "an effort to integrate all of the company’s operations and names under one brand," the Motorists Mutual Building was renamed to the Encova Building, and its exterior signage changed to match.The building follows the modern and international architectural styles and has a curtain wall facade system. The building overlooks Topiary Park, located 2 blocks south of the building. The park has a three-dimensional topiary model of the scene in George Seurat's painting Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Grand Jatte. The garden was also sponsored by Motorists Mutual.

The First Congregational Church is a Congregational church located in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The building was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982 and the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.The church congregation was formed in 1852. It was made up of a group of abolitionists, a movement that gained traction among Christians in the 1840s. The abolitionists decided to leave the Second Presbyterian Church in Columbus to found their own Congregational community. Thus 42 people transferred church membership on September 24, 1852. Their first church was a frame chapel at the northeast corner of Third Street and Lynn Alley. It was built using a $1,000 loan from the Second Presbyterian Church. The first service was on September 26, 1852, and the charter of organization was signed September 29, 1852. Initially known as the Third Presbyterian Church, the church was renamed to its current title in 1856. With membership increasing, the congregation dedicated a new church building on December 23, 1857, at 73 East Broad Street. Following further membership growth, the congregation dedicated its current Gothic Revival cathedral on December 6, 1931.The church is known for Washington Gladden, minister there for 36 years. Gladden was an early leader of the Social Gospel and Progressive movements. In 2018, the church led the creation of the neighboring Washington Gladden Social Justice Park, honoring Gladden and other social justice leaders of the city. The 18,000 sq ft (1,700 m2) of park land was already owned by the church, which entered into a public-private partnership to create the space. It is considered the first social justice park in the country.

Broad Street United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. This church is one of five on East Broad Street built around the year 1900.It was built in 1885 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The church was designed by Yost & Packard with green serpentine stone. This stone was replaced by Rogers Krajnak Architects with synthetic stone that preserved the original green color.Broad Street United Methodist Church was the site of the 2016 wedding of openly gay pastor David Meredith and Jim Schlachter.

The Washington Gladden Social Justice Park is a public park in the Discovery District of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The park was dedicated in 2018. It is considered the first social justice park in the United States.

The Columbus International Film + Animation Festival is a Columbus, Ohio, United States annual film festival which is designed to encourage and promote the use of film and video in all forms of education and communication. It is the first and oldest film festival in the United States, having existed since 1952. The 2020 festival will be held April 17-18, 2020, in Columbus, OH at the Gateway Film Center. The present organization has been known as the Columbus International Film + Animation Festival since the 2018. As a competitive festival, it was formally known as 'The Chris Awards'. Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is a private art school in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1879 as the Columbus Art School and is one of the oldest private art and design colleges in the United States. Located in downtown Columbus, CCAD's campus consists of 14 buildings (including 2 residence halls) on 9 acres (36,000 m2) and is adjacent to the Columbus Museum of Art. Approximately 1,090 full-time students are enrolled.

The Discovery District is a special improvement district in downtown Columbus, Ohio, the home of Columbus State Community College, Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus Museum of Art, and Columbus Metropolitan Library. It is considered a cultural district because of its close proximity to higher educational campuses and art destinations. It was named to imply that the area is full of possibility due to the number of learning and creative campuses in this small area. "Culture, art, and academia converge and present the Discovery District." While not typically viewed as the most prominent Columbus neighborhood, the density of academic and arts-based institutions in this area are what make this creative campus unique.
