Caerwent

Venta Silurum was a town in Roman Britain (Britannia). Today it consists of remains in the village of Caerwent in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. Much of it has been archaeologically excavated and is on display to the public. The nearby Newport Museum has many of the finds on display.

The Church of St Stephen and St Tathan, Caerwent, Monmouthshire, is a parish church with datable origins to the 13th century. It is believed to be one of the oldest Christian sites in the county, and possibly within Wales. The church is sited within the walls of the Roman town. It remains an active parish church and a Grade II* listed building.

Caerwent Training Area is a British military installation at Caerwent, Monmouthshire, Wales. The large military site is situated north of the A48 road about 5 mi (8.0 km) west of Chepstow and 12 miles (19 km) east of Newport. Established as the Royal Navy Propellant Factory, Caerwent in 1939, it was originally dedicated to the manufacture and storage of Royal Naval munitions. It has been used as a training area since its closure as an armament works in 1966, and between 1967 and 1993 was RAF Caerwent. Caerwent Barracks is to be built on the site to house 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards and 1st Battalion, The Rifles from 2027. As at 2023, the site is under construction.

Dewstow House, Caldicot, Monmouthshire, Wales, is an early nineteenth century villa in a Neoclassical style. The house is notable as the site of "one of the strangest gardens in Wales." The building itself is plain; described by architectural writer John Newman as a "simple three-bay villa", it has extensive views over the Severn Estuary. The house is a Grade II listed building, while the garden is listed at the highest grade, Grade I, on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Crick (Welsh: Crug) is a small village or hamlet in the Welsh county of Monmouthshire, United Kingdom. It is located on the A48 road 1 mile north of the town of Caldicot and 1 mile east of Caerwent.

Caldicot Castle is an electoral ward in the town of Caldicot, Monmouthshire, Wales. The ward elects councillors to Caldicot Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council.

Church Farmhouse, Caldicot, Monmouthshire is a substantial grange building which was a working farmhouse before 1205. It is connected to both Llanthony Prima in Monmouthshire and Llanthony Secunda in Gloucester. It was established as a grange farm for Llanthony Secunda Priory in the 12th century with the lands in Caldicot being given to the monastery in 1137. It is a Grade II* listed building. The adjacent barn has its own Grade II listing.

Caldicot Town Athletic Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pêl Droed Tref Cil-y-coed) is a Welsh football club. The team play in the Ardal Leagues South East, in the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid. They are based in the town of Caldicot, Monmouthshire and have a long running rivalry with nearby team based 5.8 miles away, Chepstow Town AFC.

St Mary's Church, also called St Mary Virgin Church, is a Church in Wales parish church in Caldicot, Monmouthshire, Wales. There is evidence that the church has pre-Norman foundations; however, the earliest part of the building dates from the 14th century. It is a Grade I listed building.

Caldicot (Welsh: Cil-y-coed) is a market town and community in Monmouthshire, Wales. The town is located between Chepstow and the city of Newport. The site adjoins the Caldicot Levels, on the north side of the Severn Estuary. The population of the built-up area was around 11,000. It has a large school, Caldicot School, and is known for its medieval castle. The built-up area includes Portskewett. Caldicot had a population of 9,604 in 2011.

The Nedern Brook Wetland is a flood meadow habitat near Caldicot, Monmouthshire, Wales, designated since 1988 as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The site is of 44.5 hectares (110 acres) and is bridged by the M48 motorway. The spelling Neddern is used in some documents. Nedern Brook is also called Troggy Brook.

Caldicot School (Welsh: Ysgol Cil-y-coed) is a coeducational and non-selective secondary school in Caldicot, Monmouthshire, South Wales, with around 1,400 students. In 2013, the school was rated 'Good' by Estyn. At the time of the inspection in November 2013, 11% of pupils were eligible for free school meals against the national average of 17.7%.
