The Electricity Generation Company Malawi Limited (Egenco) is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to generate electric power for use in Malawi and for possible sale to neighboring countries. As of April 2018, Egenco's generation capacity was 351 megawatts (471,000 hp). In May 2021, Egenco's generation portfolio increased to 441.55 megawatts (592,130 hp), when the 19 MW Tedzani IV Hydroelectric Power Station, was brought online.

First Capital Bank Malawi Plc, formerly known as First Merchant Bank Plc, is a commercial bank in Malawi. It is licensed by the Reserve Bank of Malawi, the central bank and national banking regulator. It is a subsidiary of FMB Capital Holdings.

Telekom Networks Malawi plc (TNM), is a telecommunications service provider in Malawi. Established in 1995, it is the oldest telecommunications company in the country. The telco is a subsidiary of Press Corporation Limited, the largest business conglomerate in Malawi.

Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited (ESCOM) is the state-owned power transmission and distribution company in Malawi. It is entirely in control of transmission and distribution of electric power in the country. ESCOM represents Malawi in the Southern African Power Pool. It should not be confused with its South African equivalent Eskom.

Press Corporation Limited, also Press Corporation Plc, is a business conglomerate, partly owned by Press Trust, a sovereign trust fund, of the government of Malawi, that is outside of the direct control of the Malawian government. Press Corporation Limited is the largest conglomerate in Malawi, and has ownership in 15 companies in Malawi, including 8 subsidiaries, 4 joint ventures and one associate company.

St. Michael and All Angels Church is a church that was constructed from 1888 to 1891 of brick at the Blantyre Mission in Blantyre, Malawi. It is located on the original Scottish mission site, off Chileka Rd, and is in the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian’s Blantyre Synod. Since 1991, it has been partnered with Hiland Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1885, Lieutenant H. E. O'Neil determined the longitude of Blantyre to be 2 hours 20 minutes 13.56 seconds east of Greenwich by means of a series of 365 sets of lunar observations, and a plaque installed in the side of the church commemorates this achievement. The University of Malawi College of Medicine (UMCM), also Malawi College of Medicine in Blantyre, is a constituent college of the University of Malawi, the oldest and largest public university in the country. The college houses the Faculty of Medicine of the University, and is the only medical school in Malawi.

The Mercy James Centre for Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care (MJC), also Mercy James Centre, or Mercy James Hospital, is a specialized children's hospital in Malawi.

The Kamuzu Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Blantyre, Malawi. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 20,000 people. This can be limited for safety reasons. Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers are tenants.

The Chichiri Museum, also known as the Museum of Malawi, is a historical and cultural museum located in Blantyre, Malawi. Strictly Museum of Malawi refers to a group of five museums but Chichiri Museum (which is one of them) uses the name due to the breadth of its exhibits.

Michiru Mountain is located about 5 miles north of the city of Blantyre, Malawi, on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. The summit sits at an elevation of 3,925 feet, although because it rises from a high plateau its prominence is only a few hundred feet. The mountain is known for its many species of birds. The road to Michiru is uneven and can only be accessed by off-road vehicles. Michiru Mountain Forest Reserve was established in 1970, and covers an area of 3004 hectares.

Limbe is a neighborhood located in the city of Blantyre, in Malawi. It is the operational headquarters and workshop for Malawi Railways.
