Namiyoke Inari Shrine (波除稲荷神社, Namiyoke inari-jinja) is a Shinto shrine located in Tsukiji, Chūō, Tokyo. It is an Inari shrine that was built on the water's edge when this part of Tokyo (then Edo) was created from landfill after the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657. The name of the shrine literally means "protection from waves." After the Tsukiji fish market was established in its present location after the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, the Namiyoke Inari Shrine became an unofficial guardian shrine for the marketplace and its traders. The courtyard of the shrine is dotted with various memorial plaques and carvings donated by trade groups in the marketplace.

St. Luke's International University (聖路加国際大学, Seiruka kokusai daigaku) is a private university in Chuo, Tokyo, Japan, formerly called St. Luke's College of Nursing. The school started in 1920 as a high school to educate nurses for the affiliated St. Luke's International Hospital. It was chartered as a three-year college in 1954 and became a four-year college in 1964. In 1980 and 1988 postgraduate doctoral programs were established, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) course.

Tsukiji Hongan-ji (築地本願寺), sometimes archaically romanized Hongwan-ji, is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple located in the Tsukiji district of Tokyo, Japan. The temple is adjacent to Tsukiji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

St. Luke's International Hospital (聖路加国際病院) is a general and teaching hospital located in the Tsukiji district of Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. First opened in 1902, as a medical mission facility by the Episcopal Church in the United States, the hospital is now one of central Tokyo's largest and most comprehensive medical care facilities. It is operated as an adjunct to St. Luke's International University, an affiliated university of the Nippon Sei Ko Kai (Anglican Episcopal Church in Japan).

Tsukiji (築地) is a district of Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. Literally meaning "reclaimed land", it lies near the Sumida River on land reclaimed from Tokyo Bay in the 18th century during the Edo period. The eponymous Tsukiji fish market opened in 1935 and closed in 2018 when its operations were moved to the new Toyosu Market.There are also districts named Tsukiji in Kobe and Amagasaki, cities in Hyōgo Prefecture, although neither is as well known as the district in Tokyo.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph (Japanese: 聖ヨゼフ聖堂) also called St. Joseph's Church is the name given to a historic Catholic church, located in Tsukiji area, Tokyo, Japan. The temple was consecrated in honor of St. Joseph. It stands out as the first Catholic church in Tokyo. The church was founded by missionaries of the Paris Foreign Missions Society, which was established in Tokyo in 1871. On July 2, 1874, they bought a 900 square metre piece of land from the Japanese government and began construction, which was completed on November 22 of the same year. After this, the church became the center of Catholic missionaries who worked in Japan, especially in the north of Tokyo. In 1874, the bishop of Tokyo gave the church the status of cathedral and seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Japan (now called Archdiocese of Tokyo). In December 1874 began a restructuring of the temple, which ended on November 15, 1878. The Church of St. Joseph was the cathedral until 1920, when the local bishop moved to St. Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo.

The Tsukiji Market (築地市場, Tsukiji shijō), supervised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (東京都中央卸売市場, Tōkyō-to Chūō Oroshiuri Shijō) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, was the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. It was also one of the largest wholesale supermarkets of any kind. The market opened on 11 February 1935 as a replacement for an older market that was destroyed in the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake. It was closed on 6 October 2018, with operations moving to the new Toyosu Market.The market was located in Tsukiji in central Tokyo between the Sumida River and the upmarket Ginza shopping district. When the inner wholesale market was operational, it offered only restricted access to visitors. While the inner wholesale market has closed, the outer retail market, restaurants, and associated restaurant supply stores remain operational, and the area is still a major tourist attraction for both domestic and overseas visitors.
