BGSU Firelands is a satellite campus of Bowling Green State University in Huron, Ohio. BGSU Firelands is located near the shores of Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio, about 60 miles (97 km) east of Bowling Green, Ohio. It is a separate college of the Bowling Green State University system. BGSU Firelands has been a regional campus of BGSU since 1968, when the first building (now Foundation Hall) at the Huron location was opened. Before that, classes were held in Sandusky High School until this building was completed. The campus practices open admissions. BGSU Firelands had over 2,100 students enrolled as of fall 2019, 40% of whom were dual-enrolled high school students.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 120 Ohio Street in Huron, Ohio, in the United States. On March 4, 1975, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Huron River is a 14.9-mile-long (24.0 km) waterway in the north central Ohio in the United States. The watershed drains large portions of Erie County and Huron County, the northeast corners of Seneca County and Crawford County, and northern portions of Richland County. The mouth is on Lake Erie at the city of Huron. The main branch of the river is formed when the East and West branches merge near Milan. The East Branch, 31.8 miles (51.2 km) long, rises west of Fitchville and flows west to North Fairfield, where it bends north and flows through Peru and Norwalk before reaching Milan. The West Branch is 54.5 miles (87.7 km) long. It rises about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Greenwich and four miles east of Shiloh, near the intersection of Gilger Road and Noble Road in northern Richland County's Blooming Grove Township. This is within a few miles of the headwaters of both the southwest branch of the Vermilion River (which also flows north to Lake Erie) and Shipp Creek, which is part of the Ohio River watershed via the Black Fork, Mohican, Walhonding, and Muskingum rivers. The West Branch of the Huron flows north and west from Blooming Grove Township through Huron County's Ripley Township, then back into Richland County's Cass Township and into Plymouth. It is here where the river bends north to flow across the Richland/Huron county line into Huron County's New Haven Township and into New Haven. It passes to the east of Willard, although other tributaries rise north of Willard. Still in Huron County, the West Branch continues north through Greenfield Township, Peru Township, and Ridgefield Township. The West Branch continues north into Monroeville and through the balance of Ridgefield Township. Next, the river crosses from Huron County into Erie County and then bends in an easterly direction through southern Oxford Township before reaching the confluence with the East Branch in the Milan State Wildlife Area.

Abbott–Page House is a historic house located on Mason Road, 2.5 miles northeast of Milan, Ohio. It is locally significant as an early, still surviving farm, and as a well-preserved example of Federal/Greek Revival architecture.

ColossalCon, formerly called Cleveland Colossal Convention, is an annual four-day anime convention held during May/June at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky, Ohio.

Bogart is an unincorporated community in eastern Perkins Township, south of Sandusky, in Erie County, Ohio, United States. It is centered on the intersection of Bogart Road and U.S. Route 250, 1,500 feet south of the State Route 2 interchange with US 250. The center of Bogart is also 1,500 feet west of the boundary between Perkins and Huron townships. Bogart is pronounced locally boh-girt. It is part of the Sandusky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Prior to 1957, Bogart was a fairly quiet rural community. To the southwest, though, lay an unused tract of 9,000 acres (36 km2) that had been the site of a World War II munitions factory. In 1957 NASA acquired part of this tract for its Plum Brook Station and by 1963 had acquired the rest of the tract to build additional facilities there.Plum Brook Station brought unprecedented growth to Bogart in the form of single-family housing subdivisions, condominium apartments, motels, restaurants and other businesses. Kalahari Resort and Convention Center is located one mile south of Bogart on the east side of US 250. On December 21, 2007, Kalahari Sandusky completed a major expansion of its indoor waterpark and now bills itself "America's Largest Indoor Waterpark.

Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve is the smallest reserve in the National Estuarine Research Reserve System at 573 acres (232 ha). It is one of two Great Lakes-type, freshwater estuaries in the system; the other being Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve. Located in Erie County, Ohio near Sandusky, the reserve features freshwater marshes, swamp forests, a barrier beach, upland forest, estuarine waters, stream and nearshore Lake Erie. Photographic atlases containing descriptions and identifications of many of the invertebrates found at Old Woman Creek have been prepared by Dr. Kenneth Krieger of the National Center for Water Quality Research at Heidelberg University.
