Cristo Rey Columbus High School (CRCHS or CRC) is a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational high school in Columbus, Ohio, United States. It was established in 2013 and is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus. It follows the Cristo Rey work-study model of education for students from low-income families.

The Columbus Historical Society (CHS) is the historical society for Columbus, Ohio, chronicling the city's history. The society office and museum building is located in the Franklinton neighborhood. In 2020, the Columbus Historical Society aims to raise funds to purchase Engine House No. 6 for its first permanent home.

The Lucas Sullivant House was the house of Lucas Sullivant, founder of Franklinton, Ohio. Franklinton, where the house was located, was Central Ohio's first white settlement, and a predecessor to and current neighborhood of the city of Columbus.Sullivant's house was near 700 W. Broad Street, in modern-day Columbus, Ohio. The brick house had two stories, each with two rooms. A walnut wood staircase connected the floors, supposedly transported from Philadelphia along with bricks and window panes. When it was built, it was largely among cabins and simple frame houses, making its high ceilings, grand staircase, and walnut floors unusual.The Sullivants first occupied the home in 1801, including Lucas, his wife Sarah Starling, and their three sons (born in 1803, 1807, and 1809). The family hosted numerous large events there, and its extensive backyard was the location for an 1813 conference between William Henry Harrison and indigenous leaders during the War of 1812. The Shawnee, Delaware, Seneca, and Wyandot attended the conference, and Tarhe the Crane agreed there that the groups would support the U.S. cause against the United Kingdom.Sarah died in 1814, and Lucas in 1823. The couple's sons maintained the house and expanded it, living there until 1854. Around this time, the Order of the Good Shepherd purchased it, making it into a convent. The house remained until 1964, when it was demolished to be replaced with a car dealership.Portions of the house were preserved, including its front door and doorway, donated to COSI, which was exhibited there for a time along with a recreation of the Sullivant house. In 2019, it was reported that the houses's ornate iron and wood balcony was salvaged as part of an interior wall of the car dealership, a wall made of the house's bricks. After the dealership closed in 2008, the bricks and balcony moved several times, and are today in storage.

Avondale Elementary School is a historic school building in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building was built in the Richardsonian Romanesque style in 1893, having been designed by prolific Columbus architect David Riebel.

The Franklinton Apartments at Broad and Hawkes are a set of historic buildings in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The buildings were built in 1900 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The rowhouse buildings are on West Broad Street, in the commercial center of the neighborhood. The two buildings are in an L-shaped plan and contain 22 apartments. The buildings are significant as they represent the neighborhood's residential investment following an industrial boom. They are one set of four L-shaped corner rowhouses built in Franklinton in 1900, and another was built in 1910. It is a defined property type relatively unique to the neighborhood, with only one other known example elsewhere in the city.

The Old Franklinton Cemetery is a cemetery in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The cemetery is the oldest in Central Ohio, established in 1799. Other names for it include the Franklinton Cemetery or Pioneer Burying Ground. Franklinton founder Lucas Sullivant was buried there initially, later reinterred in Green Lawn Cemetery.Franklinton's first church was constructed beside the cemetery in 1811, a year before Columbus was established.

Holy Family Church is a parish church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus, in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The congregation was founded in 1877 and the current church was completed in 1889. The Mercerdarians took over pastoral care of the church in 2022.

The Bellows School, also known as the Bellows Avenue Elementary School, is a historic school building in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building was constructed for the Columbus Public School District in 1905, designed by local architect David Riebel and built by George Bellows Sr. The elementary school operated until 1977; since then the building has been mostly vacant. The building was deemed eligible for the National Register of Historic Places by the Ohio Historic Preservation Office in 2006. In 2014, a developer announced plans to renovate the structure, despite plans from Ohio's transportation agency to demolish it to expand nearby highway exit ramps.

Franklinton is a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, just west of its downtown. Settled in 1797, Franklinton is the first American settlement in Franklin County, and was the county seat until 1824. As the city of Columbus grew, the city annexed and incorporated the existing settlement in 1859. Franklinton is bordered by the Scioto River on the north and east, Harmon Avenue on the east, Stimmel Road and Greenlawn Avenue on the south, and Interstate 70 on the west. Its main thoroughfare is West Broad Street, one of the city's two main roads. A portion of the neighborhood is sometimes called The Bottoms because much of the land is subject to flooding from the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, and a floodwall is required to contain the rivers and protect the area from floods. The low-lying bottom land was well suited for farming, with the river serving as a direct connection to the Ohio River. The floodwall, completed in 2004, spurred developments in East Franklinton. The projects involved demolition of three public housing projects, displacing its former residents to other areas. The developments are predominantly luxury mixed-use buildings, spurring significant gentrification in the neighborhood.

The Sullivant Land Office is a historic building in the East Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties, along with the Gen. William Henry Harrison Headquarters, in 1985. The small brick building was built c. 1822. Its original use was as a single-room real estate office, although it was later expanded. At the time of construction, Lucas Sullivant was selling and giving away pieces of land, and Franklinton became the county seat of Franklin County. The building is the only remaining structure associated with Lucas Sullivant in the Franklinton area. In the early 1980s, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department moved the building from its original location at 714 W. Gay St. to 13 N Gift St., behind the William Henry Harrison house. The move was prompted because the building was endangered in its original location, with vandalism, deterioration, and plans to create a parking lot for a car dealership on the site.

The General William Henry Harrison Headquarters is a historic building in the East Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties (along with the Sullivant Land Office) in 1985. The brick house was built in 1807 by Jacob Oberdier, one of Franklinton's first settlers. The house became especially important to the area from 1813 to 1814, when General William Henry Harrison, later the 9th President of the United States, used the house as his headquarters. It is the only remaining building in Ohio associated with Harrison.

The Franklinton Post Office is a historic building in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Also known as the David Deardurff House, it was built of hand-hewed logs by Deardurff in 1807. The two-story house sits on a limestone foundation. It is the oldest building in Columbus still on its original foundation. The building is on Gift Street, an area owned by Franklinton founder Lucas Sullivant, given to early settlers. The first post office in Franklinton was established here.
