William Brookes School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Much Wenlock in the English county of Shropshire. The school is named after William Penny Brookes, a surgeon, magistrate, botanist, and educationalist from Much Wenlock especially known for inspiring the modern Olympic Games with the Wenlock Olympian Games. The school serves a community of small villages as well as the larger town of Broseley. Previously a community school administered by Shropshire Council, William Brookes School converted to academy status in June 2013. However the school continues to coordinate with Shropshire Council for admissions. The school offers GCSEs, BTECs and vocational courses as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels.The Edge Arts Centre is also located at William Brookes School. The centre offers cinema, theatre, dance, music, comedy, literature performances for the local community, as well as student productions.

The original Much Wenlock railway station was opened 1 February 1862 by the Much Wenlock and Severn Junction Railway, linking Buildwas with Much Wenlock. The line later formed part of the Wellington to Craven Arms Railway and was, for much of its working life, operated by the Great Western Railway. The original, but temporary, dead-ended station - whose buildings are now the club house of Much Wenlock Bowling Club. - was replaced by the through station illustrated - about ¼ mile (ca. 400 metres) further east - at some date between March and September 1866 (but definitely before September 1867 ). The latter station was built at the gates of the Games Field where the Wenlock Olympian Games were held. The buildings were commented on by Pierre de Coubertin when on his visit to the 1890 games, he likened them to "a delightful cottage".The passenger service to Craven Arms was withdrawn from 31 December 1951, but the service to Wellington continued until withdrawn from 23 July 1962.

Wenlock Priory, or St Milburga's Priory, is a ruined 12th-century monastery, located in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, at grid reference SJ625001. Roger de Montgomery re-founded the Priory as a Cluniac house between 1079 and 1082, on the site of an earlier 7th-century monastery. In 1101 bones, believed to be those of Saint Milburga, were discovered beneath the floor of the old church. The relics were ceremoniously translated to the main monastery church.Parts of the building became a house later known as "Wenlock Abbey", which is privately owned, but most of Wenlock Priory is open to the public under the care of English Heritage and is used mostly for recreational purposes. The grounds have a collection of topiary; the gardens are listed Grade II in Historic England's Register of Parks and Gardens.

Homer is a small village in Shropshire, England, north of the town of Much Wenlock. The name first appears in the 14th century as "Honemor". Originally common land called Homer Wood, the settlement developed from squatters' cottages encroaching on the common during the 17th century. During the 19th century it served as accommodation for quarrymen and farm labourers. The village expanded in the later 20th century with the construction of modern houses.The Homerian, a stage of the Wenlock geologic epoch and Silurian geologic period, is named after the village of Homer. The Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point defining the stage is located in Whitwell Coppice near the village. Notable people living there include English teacher Duncan James - AKA Misterduncan (Since 2013). A well-known internet educator and public figure.

Holy Trinity Church in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, England. Located on Wilmore Street and dating to the early 12th century, it is now a Grade I listed building. The oldest part is the nave, the south aisle and chapel and the tower were added in the late 12th century, and the chancel was later extended, doubling its length. The church is built in stone, and consists of a nave, a south aisle and chapel, a south porch, a chancel, and a west tower. The nave is Norman in style, and the chancel is early Perpendicular. The tower has four stages, clasping buttresses, round-arched bell openings, and an embattled parapet.Architect Samuel Pountney Smith added windows to the south aisle and the south chapel in 1843 and 1866.

Dating to 1661, it is now a Grade II listed building.It is a timber framed cottage with plaster infill, a tile roof, and one storey with an attic. There is a central doorway, casement windows, and a dormer with a dated and initialled plate on the tie-beam.

Much Wenlock is a market town and parish in Shropshire, England, situated on the A458 road between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth. Nearby, to the northeast, is the Ironbridge Gorge and Telford. The civil parish includes the villages of Homer (1 mile north of the town), Wyke (2 miles northeast), Atterley (2 miles southeast), Stretton Westwood (2 miles southwest) and Bourton (3 miles southwest). The population of the civil parish, according to the 2001 census, was 2,605, increasing to 2,877 at the 2011 Census. 55–56 High Street is an historic building in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, England. The property dates to the early 15th century, and is now a Grade II* listed building. Previously known as Raynald's Mansion, and since divided into two dwellings, it originated as a hall house, with the front added in the 17th century. The building is timber framed with plaster infill and some brick, and it has a tile roof. There are three storeys and three bays. Each bay contains a square two-storey bay window. Between the bays, in the middle floor are balconies, and in the ground floor are small 19th-century shop fronts. All the windows are 19th-century casements. In the top floor are three gables with carved bargeboards.

Buildwas is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England, on the north bank of the River Severn at grid reference SJ641045. It lies on the B4380 road between Atcham and Ironbridge. The Royal Mail postcodes begin TF6 and TF8. Buildwas Primary Academy is situated on the Buildwas bank road. The school has been running since 1855, and has three classes and a nursery. Buildwas previously had a nine-hole golf course which ran between the River Severn and the site of Ironbridge Power Station. It was open to members of Buildwas Abbey Club.
