Shell Lake Municipal Airport

Shell Lake is a city in Washburn County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,347 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Washburn County.

Shell Lake High School is a high school in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, in Washburn County, Wisconsin. The school had a separate school called the Shell Lake Primary school that educated grades K–2. In 2018, a local referendum was successfully voted on and passed in the Shell Lake community. This resulted in an expansion on the high school to build classrooms for grades K - 2 and including both a second gymnasium and an auditorium. The Shell Lake Primary School's final year was the 2019/2020 academic year. The final year was cut short in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the remainder of the academic year to be finished through online education.

The Beaver Brook Wildlife Area is a 1,968-acre (7.96 km2) tract of protected land located in Washburn County, Wisconsin, managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). The wildlife area is in place to protect trout stream habitats and provide recreation experiences through its many trails.

The Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum, located in Spooner, Wisconsin, United States, is a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the canoe. It is the only museum located in the United States that is exclusively dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the cultural heritage of North American canoe. The museum was built by volunteers and located in the former Baker Grain Elevator building with funding assistance from the city of Spooner. It opened in May 2010. The museum's Exhibit Hall features displays of canoes and canoe related ephemera. It includes craft from the golden age of North American canoeing as well as work by contemporary builders. The building traditions of the eastern seaboard, the midwest, and Canada are represented. Its Canoe Shop is a 2,500-square-foot (230 m2) facility designed support a new generation of builders and canoe restorers.

Spooner is a city in Washburn County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,573 at the 2020 census. The city is located mostly within the southwest corner of the Town of Spooner, with a small portion extending into the Town of Beaver Brook on the south, the Town of Bashaw on the southwest, and the Town of Evergreen on the west. The city's nickname, Crossroads of the North, is a reference to the city's location at the junction of two U.S. highways, 53 and 63, and State Highways 70 and 253.

The George V. Siegner House is a historic house at 513 Dale Street in Spooner, Wisconsin. The house was built in 1904 for businessman George V. Siegner, owner of the local Big C.O.D. Bee Hive Department Store. Siegner, who moved to the area in 1893, was so successful that he became both the richest man in Washburn County and one of its largest landowners. The Queen Anne house, a later example of the style, is one of the few homes in the city with a formal design. The house features gables with decorative woodwork, two square towers with finials at their peaks, and wraparound porches at both front entrances.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 1, 1982.
