Newcastle Airport Metro station

Callerton was a railway station on the Ponteland Railway, which ran between South Gosforth and Ponteland, with a sub-branch line to Darras Hall. The station served Woolsington in Newcastle upon Tyne. The station was opened on 1 June 1905, by the North Eastern Railway. The original station building was destroyed by fire in March 1915, and was later replaced by a replica. In 1913, goods traffic arriving at the station included potatoes, livestock, hay and clover.

Druid Park (originally known as the Wheatsheaf Ground) is a multi-purpose stadium in Woolsington, north Newcastle upon Tyne in England. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and was the home stadium of Gosforth RFC from 2007–2014. Druid Park is the home of Fawdon FC (formally of The Northeast Combination League Premier Division and they are playing in the Northern Football Alliance League Division 3 for the 2021/22 season.

Callerton Parkway is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the hamlet of Black Callerton and suburb of Woolsington, Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network on 17 November 1991, following the opening of the extension from Bank Foot to Newcastle Airport.

Woolsington Hall is a Grade II* listed country house in a 92-acre (37 ha) estate, in the village of Woolsington, in the city of Newcastle, England, north-west of Newcastle city centre, and immediately south of Newcastle Airport. In addition to the hall, the stables, coach house, orangery, walled garden and east wing are Grade II listed. The hall is not habitable and requires full restoration. It has been on English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register since 2002.

Prestwick Carr is a large area of low-lying wetland on the northern boundary of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne in northeastern England between Dinnington and Ponteland. It is known for attracting various birds of wetlands and open country and is an Site of Special Scientific Interest and a nature reserve managed by the Northumberland Wildlife Trust. A large part of the site is owned by the Ministry of Defence.

Woolsington is a village in, and civil parish of, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is located north-west of the city centre, covering a large geographical area. The name means 'the town or settlement of Wulfsige's people'.The Grade II* listed Woolsington Hall and its 92-acre estate are located in the parish. The hall is on English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register. In December 2015 the hall was severely damaged by fire.There are four primary schools as well as a nursery and creche. There is also a children's centre. Other community facilities include Simonside Community Centre, Newbiggin Hall library, Gala Field Youth Centre and Chevyside Learning First. Newbiggin Hall Library has computers with free internet access. Gala Field Youth Centre provides activities and support to children and young people in the area. Simonside Community Centre on Bedeburn Road offers rooms to hire for events or meetings and a fitness suite. House prices in Woolsington average at £154,500. However, property prices within the boundaries of the village itself range from £250,000 to £1,100,000.

Ponteland Castle is a 13th-century stone tower house just off the A696 road in Ponteland, 8 miles north-west of Newcastle upon Tyne, in Northumberland. Founded by William de Valence, part of it was destroyed in a Scottish raid in 1388. In the 17th century it became part of a Jacobean manor house. The building is now occupied by the Blackbird Inn, and is rumoured to contain an old tunnel connecting it to St Mary's church across the road. The tunnel was supposedly bricked up behind the fireplace in The Tunnel Room.
