Braddock's Battlefield History Center

Braddock's Field is a historic battlefield on the banks of the Monongahela River, at Braddock, Pennsylvania, near the junction of Turtle Creek, about nine miles southeast of the "Forks of the Ohio" in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Here, in 1755, was fought the Battle of the Monongahela which ended the Braddock Expedition.

The Braddock Carnegie Library in Braddock, Pennsylvania, is the first Carnegie Library in the United States. As such, the library was named a National Historic Landmark in 2012, following its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and is on the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation's List of Historic Landmarks.

The Ohringer Building is a historic commercial building in Braddock, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1941 as the Ohringer Home Furniture Co. store, which featured seven stories of showroom space and a curved glass storefront with a large revolving display which was said to be "the largest curved glass window in the country". The furniture store remained in business until 1964, after which the building was used as offices. As of 2020, the building is being renovated and is intended to house low-cost residence and studio space for artists. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. The building is eight stories high and nearly rectangular in plan, with two bays facing Braddock Avenue and six facing Seventh Street. It was designed by Pittsburgh architect Harry H. Lefkowitz in the International Style, with smooth, plain surfaces and a distinctive curved corner featuring large bands of glass brick on each floor above the main entrance. The street elevations are faced with white terra cotta, with brick infill in some of the window spaces which was added later.

The Battle of the Monongahela (also known as the Battle of Braddock's Field and the Battle of the Wilderness) took place on 9 July 1755, at the beginning of the French and Indian War, at Braddock's Field in what is now Braddock, Pennsylvania, 10 miles (16 km) east of Pittsburgh. A British force under General Edward Braddock, moving to take Fort Duquesne, was defeated by a force of French and Canadian troops under Captain Daniel Liénard de Beaujeu with its American Indian allies. The defeat marked the end of the Braddock Expedition, by which the British had hoped to capture Fort Duquesne and gain control of the strategic Ohio Country. Both Braddock and Beaujeu were killed in action during the battle, with Braddock being mortally wounded in the fight and dying during the retreat near present-day Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He specifically asked for George Washington, who accompanied him on the march, to oversee his burial. The remainder of the column retreated south-eastwards and the fort, and region, remained in French hands until its capture in 1758. The Native Americans allied to the French were stealthy and used the terrain to their advantage in order to cause a large number of British casualties. The French ambushed the British as they were more prepared for the combat, which was the cause of their success in this battle.

Braddock is a borough located in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 10 miles (16 km) upstream from the mouth of the Monongahela River. The population was 1,721 as of the 2020 Census.The borough is represented by the Pennsylvania State Senate's 45th district, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives' 34th district, and Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

UPMC Braddock Hospital, formerly located at 400 Holland Avenue, Braddock, Pennsylvania, United States, was a full-service hospital that had served over 25 Monongahela Valley communities as a primary care facility for the Steel Valley and areas part of the Woodland Hills School District. Opened in 1906, it was merged into the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, more commonly known as UPMC, in 1996. The hospital stopped accepting patients on January 15, 2010 and closed on January 31, 2010.

North Braddock is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. North Braddock was organized from a part of Braddock Township in 1897. The borough prides itself in being the "Birth Place of Steel" as the home of Andrew Carnegie's Edgar Thomson Steel Works that opened in 1875. North Braddock is a suburb 11 miles (18 km) east of Pittsburgh with a 15-minute travel time to the city. The borough is located in the valley along the Monongahela River, and is made up of three jurisdictional voting wards. The 2010 census had the borough population at 4,857, a great decline from the 1930 population of 16,782. The decline is due largely to the diminishing steel industry in the region.

WAMO (660 kHz) is an AM radio station serving the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, market. The station, which was purchased by Martz Communications Group (through its Radio Power subsidiary) from Langer Broadcasting in December 2010, broadcasts with a power of 1,400 watts, daytime only (to protect the nighttime signal of WFAN in New York City on the same frequency), and is licensed to Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. Its studios and AM transmitter are located in Braddock east of Pittsburgh. It operates a translator, W297BU on 107.3 FM in Pittsburgh. WAMO is operated by Audacy, Inc. under a local marketing agreement (LMA).

W261AX is a translator station serving the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania market, broadcasting on 100.1 MHz on the FM dial with a power of 99 watts. The station is owned by Martz Communications Group (through its Radio Power subsidiary), but broadcasts the programming of Audacy, Inc.-owned news/talk station KDKA (1020 AM). From 2011 to 2020, the translator carried a mainstream urban format, for most of that time in conjunction with Martz-owned WAMO (660 AM).

Braddock Hills is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, and is part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area. Braddock Hills is located approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of downtown Pittsburgh. The population of Braddock Hills was 1,880 at the 2010 census.

Rankin is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, 8 miles (13 km) south of Pittsburgh on the Monongahela River. The borough was named after Thomas Rankin, a local landowner. Early in the 20th century, Rankin specialized in manufacturing steel and wire goods. The population increased from 3,775 in 1900 to 7,470 in 1940, and has since declined to 2,122 as of the 2010 census.

Braddock Locks & Dam (previously named Monongahela Locks and Dam No. 2) is one of nine navigational structures on the Monongahela River between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Fairmont, West Virginia. Built and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the gated dam and the lock form an upstream pool that is for 12.6 miles (20.3 km), stretching to Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
