It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, L-shaped, brick residence with a low-pitched, slate-covered gable roof in the Greek Revival-style. Also on the property is a contributing c. 1820 smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Fort Randolph was an American Revolutionary War fort which stood at the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers, on the site of present-day Point Pleasant, West Virginia, United States. Built in 1776 on the site of an earlier fort from Dunmore's War, Fort Randolph is best remembered as the place where the famous Shawnee Chief Cornstalk was murdered in 1777. The fort withstood attack by American Indians in 1778 but was abandoned the next year. It was rebuilt in the 1780s after the renewal of hostilities between the United States and American Indians, but saw little action and was eventually abandoned once again. Two centuries later, a replica of the fort has been built about a mile away.

The Clifton F. McClintic Wildlife Management Area, known locally as "the TNT area", is a naturalized area located in Mason County about 5 miles (8 km) north of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Located on 3,655 acres (1,479 ha) of former wartime industrial land, the WMA is occupied by farmland, woodlands, and wetlands encompassing 31 ponds. The area still contains stored explosives.In the late 1960s, the area was the location of supposed sightings of a paranormal Mothman creature.

It is the principal city of the Point Pleasant micropolitan area extending into Ohio. The town is best known for the Mothman, a purported humanoid creature reportedly sighted in the area that has become a part of West Virginia folklore.

Henderson is an unincorporated community and former town in Mason County, West Virginia, United States, at the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers. The population was 231 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Point Pleasant, WV–OH Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was incorporated in 1893 and named for Samuel Bruce Henderson, who owned the townsite at the time. The town was unincorporated following a public hearing on August 11, 2022.

The district includes 93 contributing buildings and one contributing site in Point Pleasant's central business district and surrounding residential areas. They are in a variety of late 19th- and early 20th-century architectural styles. Notable buildings include the Mansion House (1796), The Church of Christ in Christian Union (1840), Odd Fellows Hall (c. 1906), The Presbyterian Church (1926), Christ Episcopal Church (1869-1873), "Hooff's Opera House" (1905), Pioneer Cemetery, U.S. Post Office Building (1913), and the Poffenbarger House. The Point Pleasant Battleground is located in the district and listed separately on the National Register of Historic Places.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
