Army Ground, Catterick

Catterick Garrison is a major garrison and military town 3 miles (5 km) south of Richmond, North Yorkshire, England. It is the largest British Army garrison in the world, with a population of around 13,000 in 2017 and covering over 2,400 acres (about 10 km2).

Garrison FM was a network of radio stations in the United Kingdom serving British Army bases around the country between 2001 and 2013. The stations broadcast a mixture of music, news, and chat, their emphasis being to bring news of military-related issues to soldiers and their families, as well as the wider public in general. The stations' licences were taken over by the British Forces Broadcasting Service in 2013.

Hipswell is a village and civil parish in the North Yorkshire (district) of the county of the same name. The civil parish mainly comprises the northern part of Catterick Garrison. The village of Hipswell is at the eastern end of the civil parish, and effectively forms a suburb of Catterick Garrison.

The Former Sandes Soldiers' Home, is a grade II* listed building within Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, England. Historic England stated that the building had been grade II* listed due to its "architectural quality and its historical association with Elise Sandes". The awarding of the grade II* status places it in the top 8% of buildings listed by Historic England.

Catterick Camp railway station was a railway station in North Yorkshire, England. It was built as the terminus of the sub branch of the Eryholme-Richmond branch line to serve Catterick Camp, now Catterick Garrison. Along with the rest of the stations on the branch it was closed in 1964, but the line remained open until December 1969. The station had one narrow platform, and at the eastern end was a red-brick ticket office which was 18 feet (5.5 m) long. The original platform was made from wood, but was rebuilt in brick by Italian prisoners of war in 1943. On 15 September 1917, a set of carriages ran away from the station and were derailed. According to the Darlington & Stockton Times of 22 September 1917, four soldiers were killed although one report claims three people were killed.

The A6136 is a 4 digit A road in North Yorkshire, England. It runs between the A6108 Queen's Road, in the market town of Richmond, before terminating on the A6055 in Catterick, near the A1(M) Junction 52.

Risedale School (formerly Risedale Sports and Community College) is a coeducational secondary school situated in Hipswell, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, England. It is a community school administered by North Yorkshire Council. The headteacher of Risedale School is Lucy Greenwood. The school's original name was Catterick Camp County Modern School, and it was a secondary modern school.

The Duchess of Kent Military Hospital was an army hospital and nurse training facility in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, England.

Risedale Beck is a small river that rises on Hipswell Moor, near Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, England. The name derives from Old Norse as meaning either Risi's Valley (a personal name) or translated as a valley overgrown with brushwood. Risedale Beck flows eastwards into Catterick Garrison as Leadmill Gill, (also known as Cottages Beck) which in turn flows into Colburn Beck, a tributary of the River Swale. The length of the beck from source to the River Swale is 6.5 miles (10.4 km). As the beck passes through Catterick Garrison, its northern bank forms the edge of Foxglove Covert, a nationally acclaimed nature reserve on military land. Otters have been noted at the covert and they were filmed fishing on the beck. In June 2007, the area suffered 2-months worth of rain in 48 hours. This led to the beck being swollen from what is normally a trickle to waist deep water. A British Army infantry course on their final 8 mi (13 km) fitness test forded the beck. One private was swept away to his death.

St Martin's is a civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located south of the town of Richmond, covering the residential areas south of the River Swale, including the former Richmond railway station and Holly Hill. Located within the parish is the ruin of St. Martin's Priory, a former Benedictine house.
