Mellon Park is a park in the Shadyside and Point Breeze neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, straddling both sides of Fifth Avenue, from approximately Shady Avenue to Penn Avenue, the western corner abutting Pittsburgh Center for the Arts building. The park is home to the Walled Garden, and holds events throughout the year. It is also home to several recreational facilities. A number of public buses serve the area. The park is on the list of landmarks recognized by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation (PHLF).

The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts (PCA) is a non-profit community arts campus that offers arts education programs and contemporary art exhibitions in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.It also provides services and resources for artists throughout Western Pennsylvania. Though, according to the City of Pittsburgh Map, the center is located in the Point Breeze neighborhood.Famed artist Keith Haring had his first one-man exhibition at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in 1978 before moving to New York City and becoming one of the most prolific artists of the late 20th century.

East Liberty station was a passenger depot for the Pennsylvania Railroad located on its Main Line in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The station existed from the mid-nineteenth century until 1963, when the last building was demolished.

Hunt Armory (also known as Pittsburgh Armory) is a former armory located at 324 Emerson Street in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Pittsburgh architects W.G. Wilkins Co. Announced on August 29, 1909 and budgeted at $450,000 ($13.6 million in present-day terms) it was completed by 1916. The armory was named after Spanish–American War hero, metallurgist, and industrialist Captain Alfred E. Hunt (1855–1899), best known for founding the company that would eventually become Alcoa, the world's largest producer and distributor of aluminum. The Hunt Armory occupies an entire city block covering an area of 56,000 square feet (5,200 m2), also reported as 1.84 acres.For many years, it was used (along with the Syria Mosque) as the city's main auditorium. Until the Pittsburgh Civic Arena was completed in 1961, the Hunt Armory was the largest auditorium in Pittsburgh and was frequently the host for concerts and political events including: October 20, 1944: Presidential candidate Thomas E. Dewey. October 23, 1948: President Harry S. Truman with a crowd of over 25,000. September 7 - October 4, 1952: Billy Graham's Pittsburgh crusade. October 27, 1952: Presidential candidate Dwight D. Eisenhower. October 30, 1952: Presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson. October 9, 1956: President Eisenhower. October 31, 1956: Presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson speaks to 12,000.The Armory is closed for military use, but continues to be used for other purposes. In 2008, it hosted the Handmade Arcade.By 2015, historically appropriate redevelopment was being planned under the City's Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). In November 2021, the site opened as a public skating rink, becoming the first indoor community ice rink opened within the city of Pittsburgh in 25 years.Hunt Armory has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since November 14, 1991. It received City of Pittsburgh historic landmark status on February 27, 2014.

The Alan I W Frank House is a private residence in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, designed by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius and partner Marcel Breuer, two of the pioneering masters of 20th-century architecture and design. This spacious, multi-level residence, its furnishings and landscaping were all created by Gropius and Breuer as a 'Total Work of Art.' In size and completeness, it is unrivaled. It was their most important residential commission, and it is virtually the same today as when it was built in 1939–40, original and authentic.

Howe Springs is located on the southern side of Fifth Ave in between S. Highland Ave and College St. in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The spring was originally built in 1896 in the Romanesque architectural style, and was later renovated in 1912 in the neoclassical style.

East Liberty is a station on the East Busway, located in Shadyside and near the East Liberty and Larimer neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. In 2015, the station was rebuilt, as part of the East Liberty Transit Center.

The Howe-Childs Gate House located at 5918 Fifth Avenue in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built circa 1861. Originally "Willow Cottage", built for Thomas Marshall Howe, it is supposedly the oldest wood-frame house in Pittsburgh and the oldest existing house from the city's "Millionaire's Row." Former owners of the clapboard Gothic revival/cottage style house include members of the Howe and Childs families, Mary Howe Childs, and also Michael L. Benedum. The house is currently owned by Chatham University. It was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on April 16, 1986, and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2004.
