Brookside Park (Indianapolis)

The Rivoli Theater is a historic theater on the eastern side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The theater was built in 1927 and was designed by architect Henry Ziegler Dietz. Originally designed and built as a single screen movie theater by Universal Pictures, it was sold in 1937 and continued to provide motion pictures and live entertainment until its final closure in 1992. Since this time the venue has remained largely vacant. In 2007 the Rivoli Theater was acquired by the Rivoli Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., with the intent to restore and reopen the theater. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Martin University (originally Martin Center College) is a private college in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was founded by Fr Boniface Hardin, OSB and Jane Edward Schilling, CSJ in 1977 to serve low-income, minority, and adult learners. It is the only Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) of higher education in Indiana.

Little Flower is a neighborhood on the near eastside of Indianapolis, Indiana. Its boundaries are 16th Street, 10th Street, Emerson Avenue, and Sherman Drive. Little Flower has two grocery stores, at least three convenience stores, restaurants, bars, a post office, churches, schools, and other entertainment options within walking distance. The neighborhood is named for Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, to whom the neighborhood's Little Flower Catholic Church is dedicated. The majority of the homes in the neighborhood are bungalows, most of them constructed in the 1920s. Little Flower is part of the Near Eastside Community Organization, aimed at improving neighborhoods on the city's east side.

St. Philip Neri Parish Historic District is a historic Roman Catholic church complex and national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses five contributing buildings: the church, rectory, former convent and school, school, and boiler house / garage. The church was built in 1909, and is a Romanesque Revival brick church with limestone trim. It features two- and three-story crenellated corner towers, a rose window with flanking round arched windows, and Doric order columns flanking the main entrance.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Emerson Theater is an all age music venue located in the Little Flower neighborhood of Indianapolis, Indiana. It was opened in 1928 as a one-screen movie theater under the name Eastland Theater and was later renamed to Emerson Theater in 1931. It has since been renovated to operate as a music venue with the seats being removed and a stage built in and has hosted hundreds of shows over the years. As of 2021, the 400 person venue hosts local music acts on Friday and Saturday nights and occasionally regional or national acts throughout the week. On January 18, 2019, a previous Emerson Theater owner announced on social media that the venue was relocating to a location on the west side of Indianapolis and would be renamed The Citadel Music Hall. The building was subsequently vacant until reopening under new ownership in early 2020.

The Ralph Waldo Emerson Indianapolis Public School #58 is a historic school building located on N. Linwood St. in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1907 according to a design by R.P. Daggett and Co. It is a two-story, rectangular brick building on a raised basement in a simplified Classical Revival style. Additions were made to the building in 1917, 1921 (by Elmer E. Dunlap), and 1967.: 5, 8 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Scecina Memorial High School is a Roman Catholic co-educational high school located on the East Side of Indianapolis, Indiana. It is named in honor of Fr. Thomas Scecina, a priest from Indianapolis who was killed in action during the Second World War.

Emerson Heights Historic District, also known as Emerson Heights Addition and Chas. M. Cross Trust Clifford Avenue Addition, is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 1,000 contributing buildings and 9 contributing structures in a predominantly residential section of Indianapolis. They include 659 houses, 334 garages, 7 commercial buildings, and 9 objects. It was developed between about 1910 and 1940, and includes representative examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. The houses are characteristically of frame construction with brick front porches, with some brick dwellings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

John Greenleaf Whittier School, No. 33 is a historic school building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The original section was built in 1890, and is a two-story, rectangular, Romanesque Revival style brick building with limestone trim. It has a limestone foundation and a decked hip roof with Queen Anne style dormers. A rear addition was constructed in 1902, and a gymnasium and auditorium addition in 1927.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Indianapolis Public Library Branch No. 6, also known as Spades Park Library (Carnegie), is a historic Carnegie library located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1911–1912, and is a two-story, L-shaped, Italian Renaissance style masonry building on a raised basement. It has a terra cotta tile hipped roof, decorative brickwork, limestone accents, and elements of American Craftsman and Arts and Crafts style decorative elements. It was one of five libraries constructed from the $120,000 the Carnegie Foundation gave the City of Indianapolis in 1909 to be used towards the construction of six branch libraries.: 4  The library remains in operation as the Spades Park Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.The Spades Library underwent an extensive restoration in 1987. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Indianapolis Public Library Branch No. 3, also known as East Washington Branch Library, is a historic Carnegie library located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built between 1909 and 1911, and is a one-story, rectangular, Tudor Revival style dark red brick building on a raised basement. It has a truncated hipped roof behind a castellated parapet, and features terra cotta details and two hooded monk sculptures by Alexander Sangernebo. It was one of five libraries constructed from the $120,000 the Carnegie Foundation gave the city of Indianapolis in 1909 to be used towards the construction of six branch libraries.: 5  The other buildings include the Indianapolis Public Branch Library No. 6 (now the Spades Park Branch Library) and the Hawthorne Branch Library No. 2. A full renovation of the library was carried out in 1978 at a cost of $200,000. During a 2003 renovation, the interior was recarpeted and the metal entry doors, which were put in during the 1978 renovation, were replaced with custom oak doors modeled after the original doors. Indianapolis Public Library Branch No. 3 retains a high level of architectural integrity and continues to serve the community in its original role. The library remains in operation as the East Washington Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. The library was closed for renovation in 2016 and reopened in February 2017. The $2.4 million renovations included an addition at the rear of building that included a 2,200-square-foot (200 m2) computer room and an elevator to make the library compliant with the American Disabilities Act, the last branch in the library system to become compliant. The project also created community space in the basement and updated the restrooms.

Linwood Colonial Apartments, also known as Colonial Park Apartments, is a historic garden apartment complex and national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1937–1938, and consists of three three-story, Colonial Revival style red brick buildings. It has 106 apartments and includes a U-shaped building and two stepped plan buildings.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
