Scott House, also known as The Magnolia House, is a historic home located at Hampton, Virginia. It was built in 1889, and is a two-story, five-bay, stuccoed wood-frame Queen Anne style dwelling. It has a steeply pitched cross-gable roof and features cornice dentils, a bracketed cornice, elaborate gable ornamentation, an art glass transom over the raised panel double door, and 14 fluted Doric order columns that support a wrap-around porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Historic Little England (previously known as the Victoria Boulevard Historic District) is a national historic district located at Hampton, Virginia. The district encompasses 87 contributing buildings in a streetcar suburb originally laid out in 1888. The primarily residential district includes notable examples of the Queen Anne and Colonial Revival styles. Notable dwellings include the house of developer Frank Darling (c. 1895), Reed House (c. 1902), and the James Darling II residence (1927).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Little England Chapel (originally called The Ocean Cottage Sunday School) was founded by George C. Rowe. A printer at Hampton Institute, Rowe began the Sunday School with three Newtown children, in a small section of his home. The Sunday School became so popular that they needed more space to hold the Bible sessions.

St. John's is an Episcopal church located in Hampton, Virginia, United States, within the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. Established in 1610, St. John's is the oldest English-speaking parish in continuous existence in the United States of America.

In the seventeenth century, Kecoughtan was the name of the settlement now known as Hampton, Virginia, In the early twentieth century, it was also the name of a town nearby in Elizabeth City County. It was annexed into the City of Newport News in 1927.

Buckroe Beach Carousel, also known as Philadelphia Toboggan Company Number Fifty and the Hampton Carousel, is a historic carousel operated by the Hampton History Museum in Hampton, Virginia. It was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and installed at Buckroe Beach in 1920. It measures 45 feet in diameter and the platform consists of 18 sections. It has 42 oil paintings; 30 mirrors; a 1914 Bruder band organ that plays 66 key B.A.B. rolls, 48 hand-carved wooden horses placed three abreast; and two upholstered, hand-carved wooden chariots. It was disassembled in 1985 when the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park closed. It was restored between 1988 and 1991 by R&F Designs of Bristol, CT, and was installed that year in its present location in Carousel Park, 602 Settlers Landing Road, across from the Virginia Air and Space Center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Hampton City Hall is a historic city hall located at Hampton, Virginia. It was built in 1938–1939, and is a two-story, concrete building clad in brick veneer and topped with a flat roof surrounded by a parapet in the Art Deco style. In 1962, the building was expanded and converted for use as a Juvenile Courts and Probation Office. The entrance façade is marked by stylized fluted columns flanking the double-leaf replacement entrance doors and glass block window. There is a stylized Art Deco motif panel surrounding the City of Hampton seal above the double-leaf doors and decorative transom. Funding for the building's construction was provided by the Public Works Administration (PWA).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.The current City Hall is located on Lincoln Street and opened in 1976.

The district encompasses 25 contributing buildings and 7 contributing sites in the central business district of Hampton. The district includes a variety of commercial, residential, institutional, and governmental buildings dating from the late-19th to mid-20th century. There are notable examples of the Beaux-Arts, Art Deco, and Gothic Revival styles. Notable buildings include First United Methodist Church (1887, 1931), the Sclater Building (1871), St. Tammany's Masonic Lodge (1888), Hampton Baptist Church (1883), Old Hampton Station Post Office (1914), and the circuit courthouse (1876). Located in the district and separately listed are St. John's Episcopal Church (1728) and the former Hampton City Hall (1939).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Herbert House is a historic plantation home located at Hampton, Virginia. It was built in 1753 on the point of land where the Hampton River meets Sunset Creek near Hampton Roads, and is a two-story, U-shaped, brick and frame Georgian style dwelling. It has a two-level front porch with the second story enclosed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. By the late 20th century the farmland surrounding the house had been developed as a marina and townhomes and the long vacant house was in danger of collapse. Extensive renovations were made in the first decade of the 21st century to restore the historic house to its 18th-century appearance.

The Hampton National Guard Armory is a history military facility at 504 North King Street in Hampton, Virginia. A large brick building with Moderne styling, it was built in 1936 with funding support from the New Deal-era Works Progress Administration, and is one of the few surviving armories built in the inter-war period in coastal Virginia. It originally housed Battery D of the 111th Field Artillery, and was used as a community meeting space for dances and other social events.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Hampton is included in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, the 37th-largest in the United States, with a total population of 1,799,674 in 2020. Hampton traces its history to the city's Old Point Comfort, the home of Fort Monroe for almost 400 years, which was named by the 1607 voyagers, led by Captain Christopher Newport, who first established Jamestown as an English colonial settlement. Pasture Point Historic District is a national historic district located at Hampton, Virginia. The district encompasses 110 contributing buildings in a streetcar suburb of Hampton platted in 1885. The residences include notable examples of the Late Victorian, Prairie School, and Bungalow styles. The district was largely developed by 1919, with some later infill dwellings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.
