Richmond Railroad Station Historic District

Andrew F. Scott House is a historic home located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1858, and is a two-story, cubic, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a hipped roof topped by a cupola and kitchen wing. It features a projecting pedimented central entrance bay flanked by one-story verandahs with decorated posts. From 1977 to 2004, it was owned by the Wayne County Historical Museum and operated as a historic house museum.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It is located in the Starr Historic District.

The Indiana Football Hall of Fame is a sports museum and hall of fame in Richmond, Indiana. It honors persons associated with high school, college and professional American football in Indiana. It also works to establish scholarships and endowments to promote football in the state of Indiana. The hall was founded in 1973 as an affiliate of the Indiana Football Coaches Association.The museum was housed in a historic post office building at the corner of North 9th and A Streets. The physical museum permanently closed in 2021.

Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church is an architecturally significant building located at 11th and North "A" Streets in Richmond, Indiana. Designed by the Cleveland, Ohio architectural partnership of Sidney Badgley and William H. Nicklas the building was begun in 1904 and dedicated on May 13, 1906. The building committee had visited the Badgley and Nicklas-designed St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church (now St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist Church) which had been built by the Clement Studebaker family in South Bend, Indiana and the two churches have strikingly similar design elements in the sanctuaries. Reid Church was paid for by Daniel G. Reid in memory of his parents Daniel Reid and Anna Gray Reid. The church interiors and windows were designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Tiffany Studios. The original organ designed by Hook and Hastings is still in use, though it was rebuilt in 1958 by the Wicks Organ Company. The organ was featured with a recital during the Organ Historical Society's 2007 convention in Indianapolis. During the 1920s the Ku Klux Klan was a powerful political and social force in Indiana. In 1922 the Klan was introduced to Richmond by Robert Lyons, who began by recruiting at Reid Church, where his father, Samuel Ross Lyons, had been pastor years earlier. Robert Lyons was eventually appointed national chief of staff for the Klan.Membership having dwindled to a few dozen people, the congregation was dissolved November 5, 2017, and the church closed. The building was listed on the "Ten Most Endangered List" of Indiana Landmarks.

The Richmond Downtown Historic District is an area of primarily commercial buildings and national historic district located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. The district encompasses 47 contributing buildings located along the National Road. It developed between about 1868 and 1960 and includes representative examples of Italianate, Romanesque Revival, Queen Anne, Classical Revival, and Chicago School style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Murray Theater. Other notable buildings include the I.O.O.F. Building (1868), Hittle Building (1878), Tivoli Theater (1926), Romey's Building (1920), George H. Knollenberg Building (1877), Kresge Building (c. 1930), Dickinson Building (1880), former U.S. Post Office (1905), and YMCA (1908).The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Murray Theater, also known as the Richmond Civic Theater-Norbert Silbiger Theater, is a historic theatre building located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1909, and is a three-story, steel frame and brick building with Chicago School and Beaux-Arts style design influences. The auditorium was originally designed to seat 751.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Starr Historic District is a neighborhood of historic buildings and national historic district located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. The district encompasses 102 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Richmond. It developed between about 1853 and 1915 and includes representative examples of Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, and Queen Anne style architecture. Included in the district is a former Hicksite Quaker Meeting House, now the Wayne County Historical Museum and the Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and Andrew F. Scott House. Other notable buildings include the Miller-Mendenhall House (1875), Dickinson Log House (1825), Starr-Cadwalader House (1861), and Clem Gaar House (1883).Two houses in the District were the former residences of Orville and Wilbur Wright, during their childhood. A long-gone garage at the back of one of these houses was the location of their first bicycle repair 'shop'. This info was reprinted from a Richmond Palladium-Item article. The Richmond, Indiana, explosion was a double explosion in the United States in 1968. It occurred at 1:47 PM EST on April 6, in downtown Richmond, Indiana. The explosions killed 41 people and injured more than 150. The primary explosion was due to natural gas leaking from one or more faulty transmission lines under the Marting Arms sporting goods store, located on the southeast corner of the intersection of 6th and Main (US 40) streets. A secondary explosion was caused by gunpowder stored inside the building.

Leland Hotel, also known as the Leland Motor Inn, is a historic hotel building located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1928, and is a seven-story, U-shaped, Mission Revival style reinforced concrete building sheathed in light brown brick dwelling. The building was modernized in the mid-1960s and removed or covered many of the original details. It is the tallest building in Richmond.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Wayne County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built during the period 1890–93, and is in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The building was designed by Cincinnati, Ohio, architect James W. McLaughlin and the construction was supervised by New Castle, Indiana, architect William S. Kaufman. The U-shaped building measures approximately 214 feet by 128 feet, and is constructed of brick faced with Indiana Limestone. It features a projecting entrance pavilion, high pitched hipped and gable roofs, large semicircular arches, and octagonal corner tower. Architectural historians Michael Tomlan and Mary Raddant-Tomlan have suggested that the Wayne County Courthouse was influenced both in terms of exterior design and elements of interior layout by Henry Hobson Richardson's Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It borders the northern boundary of the Old Richmond Historic District which includes some of Richmond's earliest extant architecture.

Bethel A.M.E. Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. The congregation was founded in 1836. The church was built in 1854, and enlarged and remodeled in the Romanesque Revival style with a mix of Neo-classical elements in 1892–1894. It is a one-story, cruciform plan, brick building with a 2+1⁄2-story bell tower. The church serves as an educational, political, and cultural center for the local African American community.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Swayne, Robinson and Company also known as "Swayne, Robinson & Co." or simple "Swayne, Robinson" was an iron and aluminum casting factory founded in 1842 by Francis W. Robinson. The company operated until 1997, when it closed and its owners filed for bankruptcy. The building was located at 214 East Main Street Richmond, Indiana until 2001. A fire in 1999 destroyed a third of the building. It is the current site of the Wayne County Jail. Until it closed, it was the oldest family-owned business in America.

Richmond Gas Company Building was a historic commercial building located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1855, and was a two-story, L-shaped, early Victorian style brick building. It had a gable roof supported by steel trusses and round and arched windows.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and delisted in 2012.
